  1. You can get a ballistic lt under 200 off eBay, there are some stradic deals as well. Can’t go wrong either way imho
  2. I fish 17# assassin on my fmj/steez setup. I’ve gone a little higher and lower with both assassin and sniper, but settled on 17 as it best fits my needs. Everyone has their own style, experiment and see what works best for you!
  3. So I found a an older (brown blank/reel seat) 6’ m Legend Elite this morning and pulled the trigger. Was a bit of an impulse buy but I fell in love with the rod when I saw it. Still gonna keep an eye out for a deal on a 723 though
  4. Hadn’t considered any loomis options but the 723 definitely has my attention. Any thoughts on the 722 vs the 723? Despite its mh designation, is the 723 more of a medium?
  5. Despite my love for longer rods I’ve come to the conclusion that when fishing out of my kayak or canoe on small Ozark rivers, shorter is generally better. Looking for something to primarily throw topwaters but also do ok with cranks, Spinnerbaits, jerkbaits, flukes, etc. Right now I’m looking at the St Croix Avid 6mf or 62mxf. Anybody have other suggestions before I pull the trigger? Seems like the number of shorter options has dwindled over the years. Would like to stay under $250
  6. Same here, I don’t care if it’s a Ned rig or 5oz swimbait. People look at me crazy when I tell them the only knots I need are a palomar and surgeons knot.
  7. This is a pretty good video about Yeti's, the guy has some other funny ones too
  8. Did you end up getting one of these? I’ve been eyeing the 610 mh for a little while but have yet to pull the trigger
  9. Powell's Labor Day sale us still running, 40% off in stock Endurance and Inferno rods with code PRSPECIAL. Shipping is $25 but considering its 40% off its still a good deal
  10. I placed an order right after the sale started then another last night. You know, all absolute “necessities.” I’m a weak man
  11. I’ve had success dragging big worms In the mud, the dirt and silt stirred up gives them something to hone in on and the large size is easy to find. June bug and black/blue are my preferred color in such situations
  12. In my experience a 3.5-4” tube is about as versatile/all season as it gets
  13. While primarily a jig and trig rod I’ve used my fmj for frogs without issue. A perfect pitch type rod in the USA destroyer line would be killer though...hint hint megabass
  14. Did pretty good, will shoot you a PM
  15. If you want to save on shipping, set up a USPS click and ship account and print your own labels. I’ve found the price to usually end up in the $13-25 range depending on length and additional insurance purchased
  16. I've got both the Legalis and Fuego LT reels in 2500 size, both have performed very well. I really don't think you can go wrong with either, though the Fuego does feature magseal.
  17. This thing can't be beat for $6. I've owned a couple different, more expensive, spooling devices and this is the only one I still own https://www.ebay.com/itm/Portable-Aluminum-Fishing-Line-Reel-Spooler-Winder-Spool-Winding-System-Tackle/312673627046?hash=item48cccceba6:g:tdMAAOSwOmtdEt5B
  18. Not always, I’ve caught plenty of small bass on 6-12” swimbaits, though they can weed out some of the little guys. Just don’t get too hung up on the swimbaits only thing, let the fish tell you want they want. You might want to throw a swimbait, but you can’t force the bign’s to eat it Your 3/4oz bluegill isn’t very big anyway and should do well on all size bass, especially if they are feeding on gills
  19. I’ve been hoping for a perfect pitch in the destroyer line, they’d definitely get my $$$$ As far as all the new Ned stuff goes: it’s cool and all but in my mind anything that isn’t a small stick worm with a mushroom head is just a finesse craw/tube/creature/whatever-not a ned rig
  20. Curly tail: zoom ol monster and culprit 7.5 straight tail: uptons dragon tail or Berkley bottom hopper, zoom trick. This is my core worm lineup not counting finesse/drop shot stuff
  21. Isn't it possible that Seaguar raised their MSRP/landed cost to retailers and Tackle Warehouse adjusted their price accordingly? It looks like the Tatsu prices on the Seaguar website are the same as Tackle Warehouse. Also, I noticed TW's picture for Tatsu is now the new packaging. In various industries, price increases often coincide with packaging updates.
  22. The author of this article did a fantastic job. I don’t know much about the world of journalism but he should be nominated for an award. I feel like a made for TV movie, or perhaps a dateline episode needs to done about this
  23. Have you called them to ask? TW is at the mercy of their vendors as to when things get back in stock. Trust me, they wish everything was always in stock so they could sell it to us and make money. That said, I avoid ordering back ordered items to avoid these situations
