  1. Personally, I'm not too worried about limited line capacity but I can see your concern, especially if you are dealing with big pike. What brand of braid are you using? I'm thinking maybe start with 20# and see how it goes.
  2. Welcome! I really like the look of the Triza rods, been eyeing getting one myself. I think the Steez CT will be a great match for the Triza StymPalides. While it is a smaller reel, plenty of people use them for techniques beyond finesse. As far as line goes, I think 20-40# braid would be good, though I'm not that familiar with European waters.
  3. Contact the guys at the tackle trap and they should be able to help you choose
  4. What are your intended applications? I have a couple and really like them
  5. The Megabass Japan website lists it at 126 grams
  6. I’ve done some skipping with my SD and it works quite well. Very versatile rod. Just one word of caution, while the handle is cool and transmits vibration nicely, it’s hard to hold if you don’t wipe your hands off well. Water isn’t an issue but greasy stuff like sunscreen or oil from soft plastics can be a problem.
  7. What’s your budget? I use a 6’8” mh rod for most of my skipping, mainly 3/8oz jigs and 4” tubes. I’m no expert though
  8. I have a px type r on mine and it balances nicely. I feel the power is best described as a light medium heavy, perhaps somewhere between a Dobyns 3 and 4 power. Definitely not overpowered for wacky rigs, though I do throw 5-6” Senkos and use a heavier hook than many people
  9. I’m a stickler when it comes to maintaining and cleaning my equipment. That said, a little wear and tear is inevitable with use, and is kinda something to be proud of. On the other hand, I see people treat their equipment like crap and it really bothers me. If you are going to spend the money on nice stuff then take care of it. Same goes for homes, vehicles, or whatever else you buy
  10. 12# fluoro is just about the perfect match with the dark sleep rod in my opinion.
  11. It will work great for finesse worming! I've used mine a bit for shakeyheads and smaller curly tail worms with good success. What reel/line do you plan on using?
  12. I have the Dark Sleeper and absolutely love it, but pitching a jig to any serious cover is prob a no go for me. It makes an excellent finesse jig and small profile football jig rod. I've also used it quite a bit for tubes (the reason I bought it), light t rigs, wacky rigs, wobbleheads, and paddletails. I'm also planning to try spinnerbaits and cranks with it in the coming weeks.
  13. Go with the Cyclone, its a very versatile and fun rod to use. My Cyclone is not the P5, but I'm guessing they fish pretty similar.
  14. It worked on Black Friday, might be worth giving them a call
  15. Megabass Baby Pop X is a good option, excellent pop-spit-walk action
  16. Here you go, actually looks like they are out at the moment https://www.thehookuptackle.com/fishing-Soft Plastics/Yamamoto/Senko
  17. The Berkley Gulp leaches make for an excellent drop shot bait, and are worth checking out
  18. I believe this color is called "core shot chartreuse" and TW has it. I know The Hookup Tackle has a straight green pumpkin with chartreuse tip as well
  19. I'm not so sure you are correct, every model Tackle Tour has reviewed specifies made in China. Not saying they aren't good rods though http://www.tackletour.com/reviewarkrodslac73mhfc.html http://www.tackletour.com/reviewarkrodssnp70mxc.html http://www.tackletour.com/reviewarkrodsrfc76mhfc.html http://www.tackletour.com/reviewarkrodsvip72mhxc.html
  20. I too live in St Louis, in Richmond heights, so I’ll often hit up forest park or tilles park before/after work. I don’t mind all the fishermen too much as it seems very few people know what they are doing, and most just want to do something outside since Covid has affected what everyone can do in their free time. The issue I have encountered a lot this year is people not keeping their dogs on a leash. Don’t get me wrong, I love the pups, but letting your dog run freely and jump in the water right where people are fishing is not cool at all. Plus if your dog approaches another less friendly dog it might not end well. I did see a ranger give someone a ticket the other day which was good.
  21. Instead of pitching or flipping a jig/creature/whatever try a tube. You can T-rig it or a few companies have come out with heavier duty insert heads which work well.
  22. They also do a “dirty underwear”
  23. Reaction Innovations does paddletails in "booty sweat" and "statutory grape." Yea, I know that second one isn't very PC...
