  1. Cold weather can definitely effect the anti-reverse on baitcast reels.
  2. 1. I’ve never bothered with superglue. If the knot is tied correctly I don’t think it’s needed. 2. I cut the tags ends as short as I can while still being able to see it. 3. Yes. No matter how small a leader knot is it’s probably going to be noticeable. I do my best to not reel past the guides but it’s no big deal if it happens. I think the amount it effects casting distance is minimal.
  3. @AlabamaSpothunter Awesome man. That's a great day of fishing. Always love the videos. I can't wait to spend some time throwing an A-rig this year. I have at least 2 months before open water, but that gives me some time to pick out a dedicated setup for it.
  4. When my dad would take me fishing as a kid, I would always want to keep the panfish I caught. Well my father hated cleaning fish, so the deal was if we kept any I would have to fillet them with his guidance. I learned pretty quickly.
  5. I feel the same way. I’ve been a laborer since I started working. I started a landscape business a few years ago and it’s taken a toll on me physically. So I’m looking to go back to school in an electrical program. Hopefully get into something less physically demanding. I’m only 31 so I still have years of labor left in me, but what I’m doing now isn’t sustainable for the rest of my life.
  6. I pretty much agree with all of this. Well said.
  7. Used to be a dude on here who had an insane collection of MegaBass special colored baits. Can’t for the life of me remember his username and I haven’t seen him post in a long time. But his posts might be of interest to you. I’m sure he had some success on some of the colors. If I can remember his username I’ll @ him or if anybody else knows who I’m talking about feel free.
  8. Improved clinch knot. Been tying it my whole life and works perfectly for any line that isn’t braid.
  9. I put reel covers on a couple of my nicer ones but I generally just keep them on during storage over the winter so they don’t collect dust. I’ll use them during transport occasionally.
  10. I agree with the fellas above. I don’t try to ding them up but I don’t sweat a little boat rash.

  12. I’m usually pretty careful as far causing disturbances in the water when I fish, but I’ve never really put much thought into the anchor. If you’re not heaving it so it lands like a cannonball and instead just lower it into the water gently, I wouldn’t think it would cause too much of a disturbance to the fish. Some more experienced anchorers may correct me but in my opinion I don’t think it would disturb the fish too much unless you drop it on their head. I have however seen schools of fish completely scatter when bumping my TM from 1-F to 1-R.
  13. Awesome, another happy ending. Good work.
  14. Yeah if you despise spinnerbaits as much as you do I can’t imagine you loving an A-rig much either ?
  15. I disagree. The rod is what should be moving the bait when worm fishing, not the reel. The reel should be used to pick up the slack, and for that reason an 8:1 is desirable.
  16. Nylon is generally referred to as monofilament. But since monofilaments technically include fluorocarbon since it’s is a single filament line sometimes the distinction is made. So nylon is the floating, stretchy line that you know as monofilament.
  17. I think a vividly colored smallmouth bass is the most beautiful fish that swims.
  18. The Correa-Mets deal fell through due to something they found on his physical. He just signed with Minnesota. Classic Mets! As a Braves fan it makes me smile.
  19. Some days I’m #2, other days #3, and other times #4. But most days I think I’m some combination of 2, 3 & 4. I will add though, when I’m fishing with my father who is getting up there in age, I love to see him catch a fish. So #5 when fishin with Dad.
  20. Gators definitely add another factor to consider that us Yankees dont have to think about. Would make me think twice about night fishing if I lived in gator country.
  21. Just read that Hamlin was released from the hospital. Remarkable recovery.
  22. Lake Fork Guy. Has a really popular channel. I used to watch him pretty frequently but not so much anymore. I used to love watching BamaBass. When he had that aquarium with the pet bass and bluegill I was really into it. Was cool to see how quickly they grew and how and what they would eat.
  23. We have ankle monitors that go off if we set one foot south of the Mason-Dixon
  24. @Gregorym38 @WRB I linked it a few posts up.
  25. Typically, if the bluegill have started their spawn, the majority of the bass will have already spawned. Not all, but most. I’ve had excellent luck post-spawn fishing edges of bluegill spawn colonies.
