  1. Copenhagen southern blend I quit for a few years and like an idiot got one again from a buddy and I was off and running like a dope fiend
  2. This one died on the hook set. He was really skinny and sick looking don't know if that contributed to it. Only two over a 2 lbs I've ever had die.
  3. Was going thru some old pictures cleaning up my photo bucket and ran across this one. Caught her in a tournament it was a long fight and after we got her in the boat she just couldn't right herself. Sucks because I can't stand killing a big fish.
  4. Just for reference this is an 8 something. The bass in that bottom picture looks like he could make a light snack out of this one
  5. As soon as he starts making the Davis jig that is now the net bait paca swim jig I'll switch over. I know he makes good jigs but that one swim jig has caught more big fish than any I've ever seen. I gave my dad a couple and the first day out he put 4 in the boat over 8 lbs
  6. Those two reels suck whatcha need is a stratavata mastacasta
  7. They really made a come back around my part of central alabama. Had one that picked up a crippled duck while we were hunting there's a couple that nest on the river where we fish. But I still think ospreys are the coolest bird of prey
  8. Saw a flock of skeeter monkeys right below Birmingham the other night.....
  9. I just wanted to expand on what I said earlier so It didn't come across as buy this or I'll go stomp a baby duck.
  10. Mixed light and dark liquor.
  11. Bahaha hope you don't bust open a clog on a sewage line
  12. Luckily I finally got out and caught some fish today to take my mind off spending money. But I only have 5 of the jigs they were hitting finally lost the skirt off one of them the guy with me didn't have one so I let him borrow one and he isn't giving it back lol Tackle warehouse here i come
  13. I wish I was retired. I've got to get up and go to work where I'll sit for 8 hours and pray something tears up where I won't be pushing a broom all day trying to look productive
  14. Off topic but Mariah Carey is so fine i would crawl a mile thru broken glass just to catch her poot bubbles out of the bath water with a bucket
  15. Y'all Yankees don't worry about them gators. The way a gator gets somebody ready to eat Is by holding them down and whooping the chit out of them with there tail and they learned a long time ago by the time you whoop the chit out of a Yankee there ain't nothing left...
  16. I'm not biased at all shimano just makes an excellent product. I sold reels for several years and saw what worked and what didn't. If you fish a handful of times a year then it doesn't really matter what you get. But if you are serious about wanting to learn to use a baitcaster then I say shimano a citica wouldn't be a bad choice but I'd go with a curado g you can find them for 99 right now because the new curado I just came out. It's been my experience that pfleuger makes a good reel but they don't hold up in the long run. The new Abu Garcia revo's are nice but the ones I had took a lot of fine tuning when changing baits. So I got rid of them. The round reels while they aren't cool last forever. Or atleast they used to. H20 express mettle from academy is an okay choice if you don't fish much. But don't expect it to be running 5 years down the road. Quantum makes a good reel the 500 accurist were work horse reels I've still got a couple that are ten years old that are on loaner rods that still work well. But I feel like you have to get into the 150+ price range to get a good quantum these days. Okuma no experience but I never sold enough of them to get a good baseline on them. They make a decent budget price spinning reel though. Daiwa makes a good product but I steel feel like you need to get into the 150+ range to get a quality reel that will last you. I fish shimano because they work and I know I can get parts for them 5-10 years down the road. It's hard to pony up 150 for a good quality reel. But you need to look at it as an investment. How long will a 50 dollar reel last you and work well? Two years maybe if you take good care of it? But if you get a curado you might say dang this reel was 150 (or on sale for 99) but that reel taken care of can last you 10+ years so instead of spending 50 every couple of years which over a 10 year period means you've spent $500 on cheap reels that won't do half of one reel you spent 150 on will do in the long run. It's just my opinion if you aren't satisfied with my advice I'll refund you what you paid me for it..... Good luck and make a smart informed purchase
  17. Let me ask you this, are any fish in the other pictures under6?
  18. I throw the swimming fluke junior weightless on a curado 200 with a 7'3 Powell medium heavy x-fast and it does fine
  19. I throw 6xd,DB3 mag,and DD-22's on a 7'3 medium heavy with an x-fast tip just because I don't like throwing on my designated crankbait rod. But you can go grab a 7mh cherrywood rod if you were on a budget. It won't be as nice as a high end rod but it'll do better than that heavy action
  20. Hard to tell with it quartering away but looks 10+ to me
  21. I'd think it was fine we used to dip the old Abu round reels when they started to whine but it made the reel junkie in our club cringe
  22. That's awesome. How do they fight?
  23. Tungsten is nice I use it for all of my flipping and pitching but it is EXPENSIVE!!! I've paid up to 7-8bucks for one weight. But on 65lb braid I may lose on or two a year tops. Do yourself a favor and buy bullet weight brand if you buy lead weights
