  1. I've got several of those rods and I haven't paid much attention to them. I wouldn't worry about it
  2. I'm a shimano guy so take it for what you will. I've had a revo s and it too much fine tuning to get it perfect but it was a decent reel. The lews are nice too but I just couldn't get a good feel for it ended up selling it too.you can get a curado 200g5 for 99 from a lot of places now. Some old curados come up for sell on here occasionally that have the 3.8:1 ratio if you really want to slow it down
  3. Shooting the state bowfishing tournament at guntersville last year had a few buddies up there and they come running back asking if someone could take them to get exhaust fluid for his f350 king ranch. Luckily they got back with it just in time because that had about a 100 trucks and boats blocked in
  4. I throw a little bit of everything. I really prefer the popping style frog. 1Scum frog the old school popping frog the white one with the little scum circle on the belly. 2 & 3 bronze eye regular and popping style with the legs trimmed. 4 tournament scum frog 5 my absolute favorite it's the seismic frog. I rig it with a 5/0 Trokar flipping hook. I've caught tons of good fish on this frog. I like the option of pausing it and letting it sink if one misses it.
  5. In the heat if the moment I've been known to bite thru 65lb braid
  6. If you are just starting a quantum optix spinning reel 20 size with 8 lb trilene xl or suffix line and any one piece 6'6 spinning rod would be perfect. I say quantum optix 20 size is around 20 in my area Berkeley cherrywood rod for 20 bucks Trilene or suffix line in 8lb test would run you around 7-8 bucks You'll be able to throw beetle spins and crappie jigs on this as light as 1/16 ounce and Texas rigs up to atleast a 1/4 great.
  7. I used to throw a buzzbait, chug bug, weightless soft plastic or even a deep diving crankbait. I want to say it was a medium action. I had that rod for years and when I upgraded to better rods and reels I don't really know what happened to it but it was well worth the money and you can get one most anywhere.
  8. I've got 6 of the Powell diesels I love them. The fish ranger website has them for 50
  9. Go grab a 7 foot Berkley cherrywood rod. They used to be around $25. I was 16 when I got my first boat and had one of these in a medium action and caught a bunch of fish on it.
  10. I've been told that 99.99 is actually below cost. Well maybe not for a huge chain like bass pro.
  11. I like my 200g's especially for a 100 the biggest complaint I see is because they have a graphite side plate and the drag star isn't aluminum. But this doesn't effect me. I've never broken a side plate or a drag star before.......
  12. Especially if you go fishing on a Sunday. You need to be able to cut your line if you catch the devil
  13. I would drop those first two rods down the medium heavy. I like extra fast rods but I flip, pitch, throw a frog and swim a jig in some really thick stuff and I don't even own a heavy just too stiff for me.
  14. My old bass club used to have a 2 lure tournament every year. You could have two lures. Example you choose a Texas rig you get one hook one weight one pack of soft plastics Then you've still got one more bait. I'd usually take a pack of ultravibe speed craws 1/2 ounce tungsten weight and a flipping hook on 65lb braid. I could swim the ultravibe on top like a frog early then flip with it later on And a Davis swim jig with a pack of white ultravibes.
  15. I really like the Powell diesel rods for the money it's hard to best. Tackle warehouse has them for 54.88 on sale
  16. My buddy has 93 stratos 201 pro xl and it's a great boat handles rough water great and fishes extremly well.
  17. I've tried it a time of two I don't like the plastic lids and it always seemed too dry
  18. I never understood why people get so caught up in sports the way they do. I played up till I blew my knee out my senior year and I don't know if I have ever watched more than a couple minutes of a game
  19. Dicks was selling off there remaining stock of orras at the classic almost everyone they had was missing the tension adjustment knob from the factory. Some quality control huh?
  20. You go away I bought three of those last week and a chronarch
  21. The love of rich mixed 2-stroke early in the morning or bowing up on a good fish with braid and hearing that line sing
  22. I went to academy last night and walked around for about 45 mins and left with one pack of swimming flukes. I'm really about set for the next for the next month or so when the frog and buzzbait bite turn on
  23. Put down the visa and step away from the computer. Hey keep your hands up. But tackle warehouse is have a 20% off sale plus free shipping.oh really let me have a look......
