I know around here it's normally from mercury. I've eaten my weight in bass several times over with no adverse effects other than occasionally glowing green in the dark

I've been rolling the idea around of getting a left hand reel for pitching because I suck using my left hand to pitch no amount of practice is showing I'm getting any better at it. Anyone tried this?

I trie the regular size reaction innovation beavers an wouldn't fish them long enough to give them a fair chance. Then I tried the Smallie beaver and caught a bunch of fish on them so that gave me the confidence to use the bigger bait. I still pitch the Smallie beaver or zoom ultravibe speed craw 99% of the time unless I'm trying to get a big bite. Had a day last year they wouldn't hit either one and I rigged up my original flipping bait that got me started a 6 inch lizard and smoked them only day I use the lizard last year too. Don't know why I'll quit on a certain bait

From what I understand the hook set is about like you would set the hook on a bream or crappie. Just lift your rod and reel and the hook will set

I doubt I get crazy and fish the drop shot all the time I just try to pick a technique every year and get proficient with it. The drop shot and jerkbait are the two I've been putting off the longest usually by the time the jerkbait bite is on me and my mountain feist are chasing squirrels

My buddy owns a tackle store in town and he freaked when he saw them and bought a bunch. I figure it's just to catch fishermen

More shimano reels than I care to mention and I'm still buying more stupid sales 6 Powell rods and Bunch of drop shot stuff tonight in sure I'll never use.

Eff those boats fished our classic one year out of a bullet hit 104 before I told him to slow that d**n thing down. I knew I was in for trouble when he handed me a helmet. I'm good with 70mph

What action and length spinning rod do you use? I've got a 7'2 shimano sellus mh worm and jig rod that closer to a heavy than a medium heavy. Then I have 6'6 medium action Abu Garcia rod I mostly throw crappie jigs on. I've got some 1/0 vmc and matzuo swivel drop shot hooks and weights 1/4,5/16 and 3/8. Which rod would be better and am I going the right direction with hooks and weights

You'd be crazy not to get a Powell diesel. Love love love mine especially since tackle warehouse had them for 54.88. I'm a die hard crankbait bait fisherman especially square bills and the diesel rod is hard to beat. After I got this one I ended up ordering 6 more powell rods!!!!!

I played with both and the regular speed spool actually felt better to me so that's the one I got

Quantum makes some decent stuff if you get into the 125-150 and up range. Use the flipping switch on mine when I flip and pitch because I haven't mastered pitching with my left hand. When my thumb comes off the spool it's instantly in gear if a fish hits

Had to beat 50-65 power pro I've never broken off a fish but I had some knots slip bowing up on big fish in thick cover. Did break a couple of rods though

I've got a redneck drop shot rigged up to flip and pitch with. 1/2 ounce tungsten weight 6 inches below a flipping hook with a Smallie beaver on it. Seems like I would get a lot more action flipping it

I've caught a few bass popping one off the bottom in creek mouths when it's cooooold down here. Cold being 40-50 degrees in alabama
