Nosy ramp guys
This........I see a bunch of regulars and even a few outsiders at the little lake I fish the most and we always ask each other where they are what they're catching them on. BUT...We also ask each other where we're going to avoid stealing a guys spot. I'd never touch another man's gear without at least asking or getting an invite. With that said, I will also share what I got and vice versa. A couple of weeks ago, the fish were SLAMMING Fire&Ice Culprits but I didn't have any with me (stupid, I know) and wasn't catching anything. A regular got close and I noticed he was doing well so I asked and he told me the F&I's. I laughed and said I left them at home..oh well. He was heading in so he tossed me his pack and said to catch him next time as he had a bunch. I did well the rest of the day and you can d**n well bet he'll get a couple of packs in return. I admit to mostly being a total a**hole in everyday life, but you put me on the water doing what I love and I turn into the nicest guy in the world......unless you're acting a fool

Im struggleing deep water fishing
If there is standing timber, tie off down wind of a tree. You can go the end of your rope and just hang there and cast where you want.

Spincast reels
You may find it is easier to use a baitcaster than you think. I went straight from a spincast to a baitcast and found it fairly straightforward. It was later that I learned to use a spinning reel and I'm still not great with it. I went from a Daiwa Silvercast...which I still have and will throw occasionally for the fun of it to a BPS Pro Qualifier. I still have that Pq too and it's still going strong even though I beat the ever heck out of it every year. Buy it in winter and practice casting when you don't have anything better to do. You'll be glad you did. But if you DO decide to stick with spincast? Cool......use what you like

Catt n Colors!
The best I've always been able to come up with is "color don't matter....until it does"

Glass beads in bulk?
I usually fish my T-rigs with a bullet weight and 2 8 mm glass beads...red and clear. I go through them pretty quickly and while not expensive, I don't want to have a bunch of little sacks of Eagle claw beads on me all the time. Anyone buy them in bulk? and from where? I've looked at places like Fire Mountain Gemstones and while they are cheap, it seems like they all have a 1mm hole, which is pretty big for fishing line. Any ideas? KC guys......does Roger's carry beads in bulk?

Tube Baits
I've been putting the beatdown on LM's with NBBK "Lou's Special" color

The Final Push ~
Yeah...about that wind. Dead calm here today and I was excited to see glass when I went out the morning. Boy was that a mistake. That glass made for a tough tough bite all day. Could NOT find any pattern to save my butt. One of those day that I would up with or so different plastics and jigs and spinners in my "save it for later" tray. I USUALLY have about 3.

Liking 'Tough' Conditions
That progression is perfect...lol. If I just wanted to catch fish, I'd put a nightcrawler under a bobber and catch fish all day long. If I wanted to catch easy fish (and sometimes I do) I'd Texas rig a Senko weightless and just troll along the shoreline. I find myself not doing that as much anymore. I want to work at it. I want to be fully engaged. I want a challenge. and the payoff is usually sweet. I don't deliberately make it hard but I fish areas that are a challenge. I'll throw a frog where most people won't. I'll work a stump field that will almost certainly get me hung up OR I'll catch a hawg. I'll fight the wind. Like Blu, I'll fish crap weather...not dangerous but not pleasant either. I WANT to be really really good at Bass Fishing. All this plus we are all a little nuts. Who else changes lures when you KNOW something is working? I KNOW I'm not the only one. Who else finds a sweet honey hole only to get bored with it after the 3rd or 4th bass and casts somewhere else. I KNOW I'm not the only one. Obsession can be a beautiful thing

Fishing Dream
About 5 years ago I was on a fishing trip in the most beautiful spot you could imagine and was pulling in LM after LM. It was incredible. and then I came out of the anesthesia after being under for approximately 12 hours for MAJOR back surgery. The kind of surgery that had about a 50/50 chance of fixing the issue or leaving me paralyzed. Either way was ok with me because I was in so much constant pain and so worn down from the pain AND the heavy narcotics I was on that it didn't matter anymore. I was in the hospital for a week and have almost no memory of that at all....except for that dream. I can recall it perfectly. I'm not really a religious man but that was about as close to a religious experience as I've ever had. If that was MY heaven and what I have to look forward to in an afterlife, it looked ok to me.

Is the Stutter step as good as it looks?
I'm not the bait monkey....but I AM a client! This is the best description of it. One of the few trebled top waters that would throw into LIGHT cover and be confident that I could both stir up a racket and steer it out while was doing it. Haven't bought one yet and won't until I spend a little more time with the one my buddy has but I liked it. I don't know what the color choices are but his is what I would call bone

Senko durability
All of the above, with the exception of Yum Dingers. They just don't do it for me. Not saying they're bad baits, I just never catch anythign on them when I Texas rig them like a Senko. They just aren't as heavy . I have had good luck with Stik-o's and I definitely need to try the Sassy sticks. Senko's are like crack. Yeah, they'll kill you but it feels so good! Lol

Is the Stutter step as good as it looks?
I can answer this one...it really is cool. A buddy just bought one and I tossed it around a bit. Dead simple to walk and it has some hellacious action. I know he's caught several fish on it already. Buy it...you know you want to! BTW...whereabout you at? I grew up right across the border from Vincennes in Lawrenceville Illinois

My take on the $1 Walmart spinnerbait
Cheap but good spinner baits? H&H. If you can't catch fish on those, go home.

Favorite Jig Head For Grubs ?
I like Northland's Thumper jig heads. I guess you could call them an underspin but the little belly blade mostly just add flutter and flash.

Possible new forum?
I've watched a ton of videos but they are technique specific and to increase my knowledge. I just watched all of Glenn's Tube video and went out and TORE it up on them today. But just to watch some mook fish...or better yet....OPEN A FRIGGIN BOX. Nope. Generational thing. No real offense meant to anyone but I have no desire to watch YOU fish. I'd rather watch ME fish with the actual rod in my hand and the sun on my back.

Possible new forum?
Does anyone just fish anymore?

What do you wear under waders?
I can't even begin to imagine the swamp ass going naked in neoprene waders...lol

Tubes, Tubes, Nothing but Tubes
These are great videos, Glenn. These are pretty much what got my going to spend some time with Tubes. I've thrown them and caught a few but haven't really dove into them before now.

Tubes, Tubes, Nothing but Tubes
This is pretty much what I'm gonna do. The little lake I fish doesn't lend itself very well to using a tube jig. Waaaaay too many lay downs and stumps and structure. Just gonna try some different methods. Will Probably try to DS and Carolina rig them as well. Will also play around with the Stupid rig
