  1. X3. Red Label is extremely easy on the wallet, and it works well for me. I also use it in #15 for jigs and t-rigs.
  2. You can get the Tatula Type R for around $150 in some places, and the Tournament Pro for around $150 aswell. For your applications I'd go with a 6.4:1 gear ratio for an all-around setup.
  3. I remember seeing a video on Tackle Warehouse's YouTube of Ish Monroe setting the hook so hard while punching, the fish would come flying out of the cover and Jared Lintener flinching lol.
  4. Thanks for the info guys!
  5. May be off topic, but Shimano Crucial's are only $120 on Tackle Warehouse now
  6. Would this stuff work for my needs? I just don't want to buy the wrong thing lol
  7. I have an old spinning rod with cork handles, but in places the cork is chipped out. Is there anything to do to repair this or fill the holes?
  8. I will use braid with a fluorocarbon leader for almost everything. Why? Braid is much more manageable, its cheaper, sensitive, and it lasts a long time! Also there are no rocks where I fish.
  9. Around $100 baitcasting rods - Veritas, *** Black, Powell Max, (on sale for 128 on Tackle Warehouse), Shimano Crucial (on sale for 120 on Tackle Warehouse) I have the Powell Max 683 EF, and I absolutely love it so far. It is very sensitive. If you are looking for a spinning rod, can't go wrong with the Veritas. ($79)
  10. Not to mention Tatula R's can be had for around $130.
  11. I used to, but I just got my first baitcaster and I don't like bringing two rods to beat the banks, since I move a lot. There is a small dock that branches out into three different docks on the tiny lake I fish, and I've had a ton of success when throwing baits under there with a spinning reel, but I want to try to learn with a baitcaster. I guess I'll just have to give it some time.
  12. What do I do to adjust my Lew's Speed Spool to skip lures under docks? Every single cast I backlashed. It has magnetic brakes
  13. Went out yesterday in 93 degree weather, caught a majority of the fish on a texas rigged Power Worm in red shad.
  14. BPS PQ has centrifugal brakes
  15. Update: After about a week of using this rod, it has held up to 40+ fish, and still going strong. No durability problems. Still extremely sensitive. Maybe in the future I'll upgrade from this to a Lew's Tourney Pro and an Powell Endurance. So far, I'm a big fan of these two brand names!!

The best lure is the one you have the most confidence in.
  17. Have been using it these last couple days. I love it already!
  18. Its a top rated seller on ebay, so I assume they're legit
  19. Have you thrown spinnerbaits on this rod too? What size works the best with this rod?
  20. Ive seen the 3/0 for around 11 dollars on ebay. 4/0 ones were 13.99 free shipping lol
  21. Try not to bring TOO many plastics. Plastics can contribute to a ton of weight
  22. Used 30 LB today. For the first 2 hours I got really frustrated from all the backlashing when the braid kept digging into itself. I threw on a pit boss with a 1/4 oz weight and all the backlashing went away. I have one question. Will 30 lb Power Pro have the same casting distance as 50 lb?
  23. Great post Sam!
