Once you begin fishing the wacky rig more and more, I recommend using shrink wrap. I used O-rings before but those would tear the bait up easily... guys on here recommended it and I've been hooked since!

I'm a big Powell fan but after they discontinued the Max and the Endurance I think St Croix is the best option out of these.

I also agree with the others. If you are just using live bait, stick with your current rod, and upgrade your reel. If you really do want to buy an Abu reel, I have used the older Revo SX spinning reels without any problems. Pflueger President is also a very good one. & your rod shouldn't be bending at a 90 degree angle.... do you know how to use the drag on a reel?

This has been discussed before. There aren't too many differences between them, besides ther look. If you can get the Citica at a lower price than the Curado, and you are comfortable with it, by all means go for it! I have never used the new Citica so that's why I recommended the Curado.

I was too lazy to take off the reel when I was brushing some onto my new spinning rod, and I think some of it got onto the reel. It should be fine right? Since U40 is water based..

Nothing too fancy here! President 30X with the first gen *** 6'7" M... only costed me $90. Got the fish slime on it too!!! Funny thing, this is the same fish I caught a week ago, but on the other side of the pond. .jpg
