  1. I do you flurro on my musky setup. I think it is 80 or 100 lbs. But I'm not 100% sure it's Spro. I have never had an issue catching larger pike, but didn't get out that much last year to try for musky.
  2. To fish you need tools. Tackle, boat, combos and so on. To do a job properly you need the right tool. Sure there are a one size fits all, but let's be honest we want specific.
  3. My mistake. Still never fished that before either. How are they, strong wire?
  4. Never used a Strike King spinner before. I have always been a fan of Reed Runners in white. I have been thinking about picking up and trying Revenge spinners, and Mega. But I just can't pull the on another order yet. Still need save a tad more for a couple more items.
  5. I have been going to my local DSG and can not find these kind of deals. They have 25% off, but nothing like what you guys are finding. I hope my local fleet farm starts stocking up soon. I know I was in there today and they started to mark down ice fishing gear in prep for regular season gear, and that means a sale soon I hope.
  6. I just picked up one of those live targets in the matt finish.. I wasn't to happy and kind of wished I went with the gloss. And have been eyeing a KVD Sexy Dawg's on TW.. bad part is if I put in another order I need 3 3600 boxes to finish reorganizing my box.
  7. I would agree, while in Minnesota we haven't seen the snow as we have in the past, or even the cold as much. Minnesota is still ice bound for another couple of months. I have spent more this month than I do generally in a year. I get bored, go on YouTube and watch unboxing videos, and read articles. And I than proclaim "I MUST HAVE THAT!" The only reason I haven't put in another order is because I am waiting for LTB, FH and a back order that will have my BBZ Rat in it. I'm hoping that this will tie me over and make it do I DON'T put in the $150 order I have up on my web browser. But the bait monkey gets what the bait monkey wants, and that is the satisfaction of buying tackle. Wether you justify the purchase as a need stock up, or a "must have".the vicious cycle continues.
  8. they do the job, but are flimsy. No leaning back. I just bolted mine to the seat itself. I added a swivel, and ran bolts through the seat and cranked her down.
  9. I picked up one on a previous order. I watched the product video and though what the heck. I have yet to user it, so would love insight from others.
  10. So.. looking at the "shipping date" and it hasn't been pushed back yet... So maybe 2/5 it will finally be in!?
  11. Zooms split tail, bruiser bait evil twins, and pit boss are my main. This year I am adding bruiser baits paddle tail swim bait... (don't remember the specific name)
  12. I love it. Great example of how military evolves into civilian needs.
  13. That would be great! I wouldn't mind paying that and getting detail maps.
  14. So one of my new things i started this winter was printing off and saving lake maps from my dnr website. I Minnesota we can search any water and most of the time get a map. My favorite maps I have been also adding in weed beds (some from memory) Seen from Google maps. I honestly think this will help me in a couple of ways. 1) I can mark hot spots and include say water temp, weather, and fish info. 2) I can have a plan before getting to a lake 3) this I guess goes with two, but I will know the lake. So I will know the points. The hard part might be finding information such as lake composite, and rock piles.
  15. I am hoping to find a Toro Nacl HS for $150.. I hope to buy soon, so that's what I am saving for.
  16. Never knew about the flee market until a couple weeks ago. I use to troll Cl to find deals, but now I am glued to the market.
  17. Even with a leader sometimes it's not enough. I think frogs I am still am willing to skimp. I said this same thing though about cranks a year or so ago. "$20 on a *****! Never!" And have been buying BBZ's, Shell cracker, and most recently my BBZ Rat. So I think right now on cranks I think $50 is crazy. Now I would pay for another Dalhburg diver. But I already have two.
  18. Nothing. It is ran by a local fishing shop. So I may stop in to see if they have a tourney bag board. But here in MN you can find some kind of fishing tourney almost every weekend during the season.
  19. Great advice! It is a team tournament, and my co is my brother in law. We have fished a lot and really play off each other well. I like the suggestion of getting it there. One major thing is this tournament is in the late afternoon. So I will have to get out there at that time. Locating bass I think is the main point you touched on, and the obvious thing I need to work on. Again thank you!
  20. Yeah. I pluck from the top could be Northern, but I have seen northern trying to leave the water in chase of food. And when I have hooked them they will do this at times to. At times it can be as fun as northern fishing, but retrieving a hook can be a little interesting at times.
  21. A lake I love to fish has bass heaven snugged right next to northern territory. So I lost 1 or two there. But when I want to have fun I frog for northerns to.. I have pulled in a 30in from fogging a shallow flat. That paired with the 12 lb mono at the time I was using... this has changed though.
  22. So I decided to jump at a chance and I am going to be signing up for my 1st tournament. This has me wondering, how do you prep? So far I have printed out topo maps and have marked steep drop offs near and around points. I have also been looking at satellite images and looking for weed beds, and matching the two pairs up. But with this tournament not scheduled until early July. What else would you do/should I do?
  23. Holy bahgebus! At $20 a pop, and as often as I loose them I don't know if I could put that down on a frog. Spro, KVD, and my cheap Matzuo's work just fine.
