Bait Shops near Lake Georgetown Texas
Stillhouse Hollow and Lake Belton are not far up the road from Georgetown. This might help if you want to get off the bank. FM https://www.yelp.com/search?find_desc=Kayak+Rental&find_loc=Killeen%2C+TX

Sweet! I'd fish it!

Anyone else using mend-it to combat tackle costs?
Mend-it works very well, it's hard to tell where the repair is. If you throw the bigger more expensive plastics like a Magdraft's, Hud's or the Burrito. It's great for repairing tears. FM

as i get older.....
I've been several times. Darth, your friend was right a one day Halibut charter in the Cook inlet will get you plenty to send home. We used to use a processor in Soldotna, that vacuum bagged and blast froze your fish and then ship them on the day you specified. FM

Acme Kastmaster, they are still making them and catching fish. Put a swivel on the front split ring and a feathered treble on the back. FM

Berkley 10 inch power worms hook
Jsher, I find when I do it right, The hook set is almost always through the top of the nose. I have used EWG hooks in a lot of my weightless presentations but for T-rigged worms the round bend hook just does a better job of securely hooking the fish. I like the round bend because it is that right thickness. it isn't like a 3x strong and it is heavier then a light wire hook. I'd love to see Gamakatsu do these in the Nano alpha coating. They have the cover shot hooks that are coats but the bait keeper on them doesn't thrill me. Best, FM

Berkley 10 inch power worms hook
I've fished the 10" power worm T-rigged with a 3/16th or 1/4 oz weight on a 5/0 Gamakatsu Round bend worm hook. I usually bite my worms down though, the 7" is usually 6" and the 10" is 8.5-9". Dunno why I bite'em down but I feel the hook matches the size/length better. Love the stank of a fresh bag of power worms, FM

Wind watching question
I sail and kayak fish. So I am usually watching it most of the time. the nightly evening news weather forecast is a given. I find that Weather underground is pretty accurate as long as it is within a couple of days. A week out I think they are fortune telling, tea leaves and a crystal ball. I'll have to check out that Deep Dive App. FM

Cabela's (BPS) Fluorocarbon XPS line
You might trying treating the line with line conditioner. I'm not sure how it would act after being on the spool for awhile. FM

Cabela's (BPS) Fluorocarbon XPS line
Butch, You might have issues with line slap (line hitting the rod as the loops come off the reel during the cast) with that heavy of Fluorocarbon. It's stiffer then monofilament and way stiffer then braid. Also In my experience with fluorocarbon and spinning reels is the line when freshly spooled likes to keep coming off of the spool long after the cast has stopped. I found I had to feather the line with my fingers and close the bail manually to keep that from happening. It gets really ugly, really fast with a puddle of line at your feet or in your lap if not caught quickly. FM

A couple of strips of good quality (gorilla or 3m) clear packing tape, maybe? FM

Zoom ultravibe worm
Casts by Fly, I use to use these and was very sorry to see that they quit making them. I used them fishing a T-rig along rip-rap. They would get hung in the rocks a lot less. I imagine they would be great for swimming a speed worm through grass and cover too. FM
