What's the best digital fish scale gripper?
Thought about that but I like the big, easy to see digital numbers.

What's the best digital fish scale gripper?
Thx. That's pretty long/big though. I'm looking for a more compact unit, this the Boga grip style.

Battery charging question
Putting in a 3 bank charger (2 batteries trolling motor, 1 starter) was the best thing I ever did to my boat. Being able to just plug in 1 plug and be done was great. It was also a trickle/maintenance charger, so I never had to unplug it.

How old was your Ranger? Have they fixed those issues?

Pressure Treated vs Water Sealed
Yep, I didn't say use it for a boat, just that that's why I believe you are supposed to use hot dip galvanized with treated wood.

Best Hooks For Wacky Rigged Senkos?
Does the little beak at the tip make them hard to sharpen?

Pressure Treated vs Water Sealed
I think this is why you use Hot Dip Galvanized bolts with green treated because other types of metal will have a bad chemical reaction to the treated wood.

Anyone know when the new, improved Minn Kota Ulterra is coming out?
Cool. And there probably won't be a sale on them then, right? Probably a sale on the older Ulterras?

Anyone know when the new, improved Minn Kota Ulterra is coming out?
So Minn Kota is coming out with a new and improved Ulterra this fall. It's supposed to have Bluetooth and improved Spotlock if I'm correct. The news release says this fall. Does know anyone know what the exact month or date of release for these improved Ulterras is?

How do you fish a Senko normally: Wacky, Texas Rig, Other
And skip great under docks. I might set up a rod each way, wacky rig and weightless T-Rig and try them both next time.

Topwater Rod Preference
I like to use a Cabelas Tournament ZX casting Frog rod. It's 7'3", heavy, and fast tip. What's nice is it's also usually on sale for some time for $69.

Tool Box
I only carry needlenose pliars for fish. I don't carry any of those tools because I really couldn't do anything to an Evinrude E-Tec to repair it. lol. I do have a small tablet sized charger that I bring with it. It can jump my truck or boat. One time before I had it some fisherman had just put their boat in the motor and it wouldn't start. They asked if I had cables or a jumper and I didn't. I do now. It could save your trip.

Would boat buckles work in this situation ?
Be aware though that this can shift the boats weight balance and may make the tongue heavier and harder to lift/move.

Weird, because I do great with wacky but not nearly as well weightless T-rigged. I set my friend up with weightless T-rigged last time I went out and he caught quite a few.

What type of bowmount Trolling Motor do you use? Electric, Cable, Changing?
With the new Ultrex, I believe you get cablesteer and Spot-lock. Looks like someone needs a new trolling motor! lol

Also, if it's windy and I'm fishing near docks and someone hooks a fish it's nice to hit Spot-lock and then go help them. Right now I have to use the remote, hopefully I'll get an Ulterra and can just hit the Spot-lock button on the pedal. It's also nice when you get a knot or need to replace a lure, or re-tie, you don't lose your spot, especially if it's windy out, you don't want to get blown into a dock or boat. I didn't know the foot pedal was slimmer, that will be nice. I also love being able to move the pedal around. I like to sit and fish a lot, so when I'm fishing from the right side, I move the foot pedal to the starboard side and vice versa. It's very convenient that way.

What type of bowmount Trolling Motor do you use? Electric, Cable, Changing?
I've bought 2 boats that came with cable steer trolling motors, a Maxxum and Fortrex. Maybe it's because I'm short but my legs got so tired and cramped using them, it was brutal. Pressing that big foot pedal back and forth all day was tiring, even with the tension turned down. Trying to stand and do it made me lose my balance and almost fall out of the boat a few times. One of the boats even had a recessed foot pedal to fix this problem but it still persisted. So, I tried a Minn Kota electric steer Terrova and love it. I don't use the foot pedal, same problem as before, but because it has the directional buttons and power button as small buttons on the end of the foot pedal it works great. I know a lot of people like cable steer because of their fast response and ability to see what direction they are but I can always see which direction my Terrova is facing and it turns pretty quick, albeit not as fast as a cable steer. It also seems that a lot of open water fisherman like electric steer while shallow water fisherman like cable steer to move them around obstacles. I hope to get an Ulterra this year because of the features that it has that you can't get on a cable steer such as auto deploy/stow, auto trim, and features that you can get on the new Ultrex (cable steer) like Spot-lock on the foot pedal. You can do all of these things on the foot pedal and no longer need a remote which is great. The only reason I use my Terrova remote is to activate Spot-lock. Now I can do everything I need to do on my TM without needing my remote. My friend says he uses his remote a lot since he is in the back of the boat with his kids, but I don't have that need yet. So, I'm wondering how many people on here use electric steer vs. cable and who maybe changing from one style to the other and if so, why are you changing?

Forgot you were talking about boat buckles, these will fall off. I ended up buying the boat buckle extension bracket for my old boat.

Minn Kota Ultrex
Yeah, I don't doubt they'd want to try to get rid of old stock. I'm looking for a sale on the improved Ulterra though.
