  1. the lead head of the baits weighs however much it says on the packaging , the rest of the lure (blade, skirt, wire, hook, trailer hook, etc) just gives it more weight. This is the norm for vast majority of the "blade" lures out there. Also: 1/4 is suppose to be larger than 3/16. both of those lures exceeded 2X the claimed weight, do expect that from lures with blades as bigger the blade, more weight it adds.
  2. I wish I could go as technical as you want me to, but I simply buy ready made spinnerbait heads and attach blades and skirt to them since I dont have a place to safely pour lead . I use 0.035" wire for all my spinnerbaits up to 1/2oz. As I buy them ready made, I have no clue what brand they are. I dont use/lose spinnerbaits heavier than 1/2oz often enough to warrant making them.
  3. I currently make my own, as i stopped buying them to save some money. When I did buy them however, Booyah was my go-to brand, with the occasional strike king rocket shads here and there.
  4. i use them with a small grub trailer, good in clear water, swimming it right above the weeds. The weedguard that comes on them is garbage, i just take mine off.
  5. average is what i felt when i handled one, but it offers many med-fast/regular taper that not many other brands have, if you are looking for that kind of action.
  6. its a rod or line issue, or both, but most likely the rod you just dont have enough sensitivity in your setup to detect the vibrations from the lure
  7. ya, its good
  8. booyah boogee, been discontinued for years, but i stocked up a big pile
  9. Anyone know whats the tensile rating on these thing, particularly the #0 and #1? Im guessing its around 20lb, but want to be sure.
  10. 17lb fluoro is the lightest il go for 3/4oz, but I usually use 20lb when fishing in/around cover
  11. i use silent/quiet lipless during crystal clear waters and at night with good amount of moon light and no wind.
  12. both are available at tackle warehouse
  13. i try a new lure right after i buy it.
  14. if im pitching, im using a straight shank, and those dont come in red as far as i can tell. if i wanted some color on my hook, i would just dye it myself
  15. if it irritates you, its taking enjoyment away from your fishing trip. you need to figure out a way to stop them.
  16. any non-translucent color. I mostly just pick whatever looks nice to me.
  17. 10" huddlestons, 8" huddlestons, I slide 185, roman made mother, MS super slammer, jointed craw, 8" BBZ to name a few. Theres also tons of custom baits out there that dwarfs that x rap.
  18. is your bait perfectly straight, and are you reeling too fast?
  19. bass season has no yet opened in my country, but once it does, i expect somewhere between $50-80 worth of lost lures, because thats about how much i lose every year
  20. #20 braid on spinning, use it for anything thats 1/4oz or lighter. #40 braid on baitcaster, everything else
  21. why not, that thing's tiny compared to some of the swimbaits we throw regularly
  22. if you never bass fished with lures, use lures that are "chuck n wind". basically cast it out and wind it back in slowly. That spinnerbait (the wire lure with blades on the end) and any of the crankbait (lures with a lip in front) would be good
  23. all of them, and try it all
