  1. Awesome job Eddie! Great work. Obviously another satisfied fisherman. Oh and congratulations on the new rod wagn! Ronnie
  2. Wayne, It's my fault now that the website is not up. I have most of it done and will have info and details up by Monday. Glen has been on to me and I am on it. Sorry for the delay, I have had a couple of personal and business emergencies run into one another in the past couple of weeks. Thanks for your patience. Your humble Roadtrip Coordinator, Ronnie
  3. Ditto on my dusty office.........pics of Al's rod. The specs I got was for a stealthy rod so this is as stealthy as it gets. I'm not the artist that Keith is, but it will fish pretty good. LOL Ronnie
  4. I would love to know what they will replace it with. It's the best reel Shimano has ever built at any price IMHO. I will hate to see it go. However the 5 that I have now will probably last for the rest of my life. Ronnie

  6. Congratulations Keith!!! The fun begins now. Very happy for you and your family. Make sure he is wearing gloves when turning rod grips. It can burn his skin. LOL Ronnie
  7. I have had a lot of luck with blanks being pretty straight. Aligning guides on the effective spine has not caused any problems for me. I think it is more important for fly rods than casting and spinning as it has more effect on how the rod loads on repetitive casting and fly presentation. Longer fly rod lengths add to the torque of un-spined rods. JMHO. Ronnie
  8. Yep, that's pretty great right there! Ronnie
  9. Where I grew up at the mouth of the Mississippi, anyone who lived north of Shreveport, La. was considered a "yankee". LOL ;D ;D Ronnie
  10. You quitters don't get cocky. It takes weeks to beat the physical addiction and the mental need can drag on for some time. If you let your guard down for a minute you will be smoking again. I had to keep telling myself "don't put one in your mouth". With the help of Chicken Pox, pneumonia, and a near death experience, I left a 4 pack a day habit about 16 years ago. KEEP ON KEEPING ON!!!! Ronnie

  14. Hey Stuart, Welcome to the best fishing site on the net. Check out this article on tubes. http://www.bassresource.com/fish/gitzits.html There are hundreds of great articles here on this site that have helped me a lot. Check them out. Ronnie
  15. Excellent!!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations papa!!!!!! Definitely a KEEPER!!! He won't be able to use it for a while, but you can go ahead get him a rod & reel. Good job Ed! We are proud with you. Ronnie
  16. There is only one leader knot as far as I am concerned. Opposing nail knot...line diameter does not matter... I have tied 2lb leader to fly line..I have never broken or made this knot slip, you can tie it without the tool, but for a couple of bucks the tool makes it foolproof and easy. JMHO Ronnie
  17. What Muddy said... Praying for you man. Ronnie
  18. Excellent Dave! Congratulations!!! Ronnie
  19. Very nice job. You can be proud!! Ronnie

I used to use the 'Flex Coat' 2 part and it works great, but it mixes to low viscosity like syrup and tends to drip and get messy when applying. I switched to the 'U40 Rod Bond' and like it much better. It mixes to a consistency of toothpaste and stays where you put it. Both will hold anything together, but I prefer the 'Rod Bond' for it's working properties. Ronnie
  23. Russ, I quit a 4 pack a day habit that lasted 22 years (16 years ago). There's a long story that goes with it, but suffice it to repeat what you said "if I could quit, anyone can". I will be praying for your success. As mattm said above, you will be an inspiration to a lot of people who struggle with it. No pressure here though, LOL. YOU CAN DO THIS!!! Ronnie
  24. Not a crotch rocket, but it is pretty hot in the twisties. I am into touring. 1000 mile days, Iron Butt rides, etc. This one has almost 40,000 on the odometer. There are few things in life I enjoy as much as riding. You have to be responsible for your own safety. TRAINING, PRACTICE, GOOD RIDING GEAR, Lots of time in the seat and oh and did I mention TRAINING!!! LOL 1832 cc 6-cylinder COUCH ROCKET!!!!!!! ;D ;D Ronnie - "Iron Butt Association" member # 31633
