  1. trinity lake will be full but not for long because I'm sure there gonna dump it big time this year most likely. it will be pretty full for most of the summer tho. having fished there 5 to 7 days a week there for the last 3 years all summer long I will tell you right now the fishing is going to flat out suck. the water levels have not been this high for like 6 or 7 years the bass will have so many new places to go and with such a small population its going to make the fishing virtually impossible. I predict winning bags in summer to run in the 8 to 10 pound range while last year I caught 20 pound bags easy sometimes 25 pound bags. all in all everyone that fishes trinity should be prepared for some pretty crappy fishing for the next few years until the lake goes down again or the fish re populate the lake in better numbers.
  2. I'm heading over to Lopez on Friday. The lake is at 40% and rising!! Just wondering if anyone had any recent reports on the lake or has been there recently. Any input would be greatly appreciated!
  3. My grandfather just gave me a 16 or so foot trihull boat! It has a very old engine which I think I'm gonna replace with a merc but I am wondering have any of you guys built decks on your tri hulls front or back? I appreciate any ideas!
  4. I have a 1995 ford bronco that's really a pretty good rig for towing lighter rigs.
  5. how has lake cachama been lately? thinking of heading over there soon. Do you think renting a boat to get out on the other side of the lake is worth it? thank you!

  12. Hey really appreciate your reply fishnkamp! I really am looking for something in the 3k to 5k range I fish a lot of different lakes but I fish trinity lake CA the most and it is a big lake but the ramp sucks due to low water it's muddy and scary even with the 13 footer. Looks like I need an aluminum boat!
  13. I have a small 13 foot aluminum boat that I kind of turned into a bass boat. It has a front deck, trolling motor, decent electronics. However after using it for several years I have just found its way to small. I am now looking for a bass boat. Nothing to fancy could be older or a little beat up. Just wondering if any of you would have any sugg for what I should get. I was thinking towards a ranger. Not for sure though. Thanks for any input!

  20. I just ordered some glide baits and swimbaits from TW last night. Got some hudds savage gear river2sea s wavers and a few other. Just wondering if anyone has any tips on fishing these baits like when where and how and what type of line I should use... Has anyone had good luck on big baits? My fishing situation is a clear water lake with bass suspended and on the bottom in 20 to 40 feet but they do come up shallower to feed at night and early morning the 2 main food sources are crawfish and small trout. There is no shad in the lake. Thank you for any input.
  21. I can't seem to find a shimano chronarch e5 left hand anywhere for any price. I have an e6 and e7 and wanted to at an e5 to my arsenal. Any one have any idea where I might find one? Thanks!
  22. I'd say right now they are worth around 80 or 90 bucks new. I bought a very lightly used lefty a while back for 60 bucks and like it not as good as my chronarch es but for the price it is a very solid reel...
  23. There are giants but they are very hard to catch!!! I've tried to catch them but I think the biggest I've ever caught was a pound.
  24. Whiskeytown is a very hard to fish lake.... Unless the water level is dropped the lake is very clear 99% off the time use clear water baits top water in the morning and evening... If you are living in Redding I would fish Shasta lake the spotted bass fishing is incredible there. Fish are biting very well in Shasta right now small swimbaits top waters tubes and drop shots are good bets there. I fish Trinity lake which I live right next to and fishing was incredible today landing 25+ bass in a few hrs all on a drop shot rig.... All in all my experience at wiskeytown has been its a hard lake to fish but glad you moved up here there are many great opportunity sand your not far from clear lake as well!!
