  1. That has always been the case. They don't seem to finalize official placements (Basstrak compared to actual leaderboard) for the day on Fantasy until usually close to midnight for me.
  2. I apologize. I've been really busy and wasn't able to remind everyone that we had a quick turn around for this Santee Cooper tournament. Hopefully everyone was able to get their picks in beforehand. Yes, there was a glitch this morning where picks weren't showing but they seemed to have it fixed around lunch time. This fishery seems like something else. Lots of big fish but finding them can be a struggle. Should be an interesting event to watch play out, especially with Robertson leading after day 1.
  3. Friendly reminder everyone - Lake Murray kicks off this week. Get those picks in by Wednesday evening.
  4. Sorry I haven't been around much. I've been in and out of the hospital with a surgery recently. This year has not been my year for Fantasy. Seems like I always have one guy who greatly underperforms, or someone who starts the event great on day one and then just slides down the rankings each day. Anyway, congrats to Gussy on getting the win. Glad to see a Canadian get one. We've got a 20 day break until the next event, so we've all got plenty of time to do lots of research.
  5. 11 days. I've made my picks. I really feel like this event could be anyone's game.
  6. Currently 17 days until the Classic kicks off in Tennessee. Start doing your research or throwing darts at a board. Whatever it is you guys do.
  7. Two events down and two first time Elite series winners. I'm starting to think that the Ole boys might not be the safe picks anymore.
  8. Ike posted on Facebook this morning that his goal today was to get a clue on how to fish this lake because he was absolutely clueless after the 3 practice days... Looks like he found his clue early.
  9. The first event is in the books and we saw a first time Elite winner - Tyler Rivet. Who would have thought Okeechobee would be won in a deep water canal using FF sonar. We only have a few days before the boys launch at Lake Seminole in Georgia. So get your picks in by the end of tomorrow.
  10. Would drive me nuts living on a lake like Okeechobee and not being allowed to fish it because of the off limits time.
  11. Today is the final day to make your picks for Okeechobee. Who is everyone taking?
  12. Pretty sure Dobyns have always been made in Asia (Taiwan or Korea to be exact I believe). Gary has never kept that a secret.
  13. We are getting really close to our first event of the season on the Big O. 2 days left to make your picks. We're up to 40 guys playing along so far and I'd love for more members to join in!
  14. We are officially sticky'd for the year. Let's go!
  15. Glad to see some familiar faces and some new ones. I think this is the sixth year I've ran this (maybe seventh?). I always enjoy the banter leading up to the tournaments and then following along during the events. If anyone is new here, or just wants to reminiscence, here's last year's thread. https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/243715-fantasy-fishing-2022-official-thread/
  16. The time has come for the 2023 Fantasy Fishing season to begin. For those unfamiliar, we have been doing this for a few years now as a fun way to compete and have a little fun among all our members. Do you think you have what it takes to take home 1st place for the season? Group Name: BassResource Password: BR2023 We encourage all members to play along. Just pick your anglers prior to each BASS Elite event and share them (or don't) with the group. It's all part of the fun! Here is the link to the official website. https://bassmasterfantasy.com/
  17. Don't worry about it. Send it when you can. We all know how shipping can go this time of year.
  18. Mailed mine out today. I can't wait to see everyone's loot.
  19. I'm in! I look forward to this exchange every year.
  20. Probably not a bait I will buy... But I'll say this. If that top weedless rigged bait isn't rigged perfectly straight, this entire thing probably will not run well at all.
  21. Not to take away from what these cheaters did.... But some of ya'll have never fished for walleye in the Great Lakes and it definitely shows after reading this thread. Almost EVERY single walleye you catch in Lake Erie is dead before it ever even gets to the boat. Why is this? Most walleye's are caught by trolling, often at depths of around 50-100 feet deep using planer boards, down riggers, and dipsy divers to get the baits down that deep. When a fish is caught that deep and then quickly reeled to the surface, their air bladders explode and they're just a dead weight by the time you get them to the boat. So the suggestion of catch, measure, live release is pretty much a null point in this situation. I'd be willing to bet there are very few live fish even brought to weigh ins at the Lake Erie Walleye Trail. Sure, that style of tournament may work on some more shallow water fisheries where the fish are all being caught in less than 35' of water, but that simply isn't the case here. If any of you have ever fished Erie and seen the perch guys whenever they find a school of fish, you'll know that this all holds true as well. Lake Erie has an 8" minimum length on perch, and whenever you find a school of active perch, you're literally just dropping a bait down, hooking them, and bringing them up cast after cast. The same issue applies though. All those fish are dead when they reach the boat, and all the fish that are too short to keep have to be "released" dead back into the water. So what you have is giant flocks of gulls and other birds swarming over you scooping up every dead fish that gets thrown back in the water. It's kind of funny to see in person, but at the same time, it's a shame.
  22. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Gamakatsu_Round_Jig_Head_5pk/descpage-GRJH.html I like the 3/16 in 2/0 myself. But yes, another vote for the Gami heads. Owner makes one similar as well. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Owner_Round_Head_with_Lockdown_Keeper_5pk/descpage-ORHL.html
  23. 2022 Season Recap Champion - Guru825 Runner Up - Nitty Gritty Boy And just like that, our 2022 season is a wrap. I'd like to thank all the people who played along this season and made this season super fun for all of us. I always look forward to talking with everyone before and after the events and seeing how everyone did. Having a large group of people playing along is what makes this group so fun. Huge shout out to Guru and Nitty Gritty for taking the top spots in the group. They both managed to break the 11k points mark, which means they averaged over 1100 points per event this year. We had a total of 66 people play along this year. Of that, we had 42 people who played every event, and 54 played 9/10 events. Overall, that's a pretty dedicated group of players and I appreciate all of you putting in the time to making picks for each event and playing along. They usually open up the new season around January, so keep your eyes peeled for my thread for the 2023 season around then. Hopefully everyone returns and then some.
