Well that was a fun event on Harris Chain. It felt weird having things wrap up on a Monday, but congrats to John Garrett for going wire to wire with the win. Because of that event finishing yesterday afternoon, we have a super quick turn around as the boys head to St. Johns for this weeks event. Get those picks in quickly! d**n. I didn't realize this event would be such a bad one for everyone. I fell from 1200+ points on day one to finishing with 1016. Oh well. Final day is today. Going to be interesting to see it all shake out. Maybe someone will catch up to Garrett.

These things happen from any manufacturer. Dobyns warranty is top notch. I had a 704c Extreme develop pressure cracks halfway down the blank after my first outing with it. I emailed them a picture and explained the situation. They immediately replied back with a return shipping label for me. They mailed me a replacement as soon as they saw my defective rod was scanned in at UPS. I had my new replacement rod in under a week from whenever I first emailed them.

For my own curiosity, can you post a picture of these size 8's next to a size 5?

Big risk, big reward. It's all part of the game if you want to fish that way. I would try throwing some cheaper swimbaits (S-Waver type) before going and investing in something like a Roman.

I think one big glaring difference with the change of FFS is look at how Seth Feider has done on the northern smallmouth fisheries the past two years now that FFS has taken over. He used to be untouchable. Now he's hardly competitive. Some of the legends like Iaconelli, Swindle, Hackney have also fallen off with the new wave of technology driven fishermen. I personally hate seeing it happen to guys I grew up admiring it, but there's certainly a changing of the guard happening right now. And to @looking45 point, it is hard to pick on some of these venues lately. I think it's going to get really interesting whenever we get to some of these sight fishing events whenever they're on beds. Guys will be able to find/see fish on beds that are in water that's too deep/dark/dirty to traditionally find all the bedding fish.

Picking Christie seems like such the right thing to do. But man are these guys using FFS making it hard to not pick guys who should know these waters like the back of their hand.
