  1. 2022 Season Recap Champion - Guru825 Runner Up - Nitty Gritty Boy And just like that, our 2022 season is a wrap. I'd like to thank all the people who played along this season and made this season super fun for all of us. I always look forward to talking with everyone before and after the events and seeing how everyone did. Having a large group of people playing along is what makes this group so fun. Huge shout out to Guru and Nitty Gritty for taking the top spots in the group. They both managed to break the 11k points mark, which means they averaged over 1100 points per event this year. We had a total of 66 people play along this year. Of that, we had 42 people who played every event, and 54 played 9/10 events. Overall, that's a pretty dedicated group of players and I appreciate all of you putting in the time to making picks for each event and playing along. They usually open up the new season around January, so keep your eyes peeled for my thread for the 2023 season around then. Hopefully everyone returns and then some. 2. Well they don't make a 7'2 spinning rod... It gets used for everything that fits its weight range. It's extremely versatile with its action. Buzzbaits, small Keitechs, small jigs and T-rigs, Senkos, 1/4oz traps, poppers. The list goes on.
  3. Interesting. When I checked it this morning when I woke up, it said 22 hours left to make picks. Good to know!
  4. Today is the last day to get picks in for the final event. Don't ruin your season by missing the final tournaments picks.
  5. To make it easier for everyone else: Line Stretch at 50’ Stretch at 100’ Hook-set lbs. at 50’ Hook-set lbs. at 100’ Light braid 4 inches 10 inches 7 lbs 7 lbs Light mono 12 inches 31 inches 5 lbs 4 lbs Heavy braid 8 inches 12 inches 14 lbs 14 lbs Heavy mono 41 inches 105 inches 5 lbs 3.5 lbs
  6. I have a 7'2" Medium powered PA that I've had two seasons now and it has been a dream to fish with. It sees a lot of time on the water and I've never had an issue.
  7. Big congrats to Austin Felix for getting his first Elite W. Well deserved to him and I'm sure we'll see him on the podium again at some point. I personally finally had a good redemption tournament after a few mediocre events. With that being said, we have one event left and only 4 days to make picks. So start doing your research for the Mississippi River event. Our current standings with just one event left are: 1 - Nitty Gritty 9944 2 - Guru 9906 3 - Flintbass 9887 4 - STX Hooker 9832 5 - Jeffray Gooch 9800 Scores are close with just 144 points separating our top 5.
  8. 7 22 23 30 43 Pretty decent first day for me. 1135 points. I'll take it.
  9. That's a decent deal for that rod, but it is not a practical length nor action for an all purpose rod at all. My advice would be that you pass on that deal.
  10. Clark Wendelent just dropped out for the year with an eye injury. Just FYI.
  11. He stands a good chance. This will likely be a smallmouth event.
  12. 2.5 days left to make picks. What's everyone thinking for this one?
  13. The 734 (in any series) is the shining star of "do it all" rods. Can't recommend those enough. I personally love the Champion series. The XP series is great for bottom contact baits and the Xtasy series is the high roller line.
  14. Judging by some of the scores I've seen ya'll put up, I can tell.
  15. Friendly reminder. This event is one week away. Time to get serious.
  16. Fall here means buzzbait time. Such a fun time of year to catch them on top.
  17. I bought a pack of these last week in the 3.8 size, but haven't fished them yet. I did weigh them and was shocked to see they came in at 9/16oz by themselves. Definitely heavier than you standard Senko.
  18. Friendly reminder, 18 days to make picks.
  19. Another vote for shad raps. Highly effective for bass and walleye.
  20. I'd throw both and let the fish tell me what they want. I'd also put a little 3" Keitech swimbait on a 1/2oz head and let it sink to the bottom and then slowly retrieve (or hop it) back to the boat.
  21. Have the changed the reel seat/grip? My LTB grip is awkward feeling in my hand.
  22. Whoa, easy now. We're just a bunch of dumb fishermen... So I should buy it?
  23. It has. Probably a half a dozen times year I'd bet...
  24. Sure. Go purchase every manufactured spinnerbait on the market and ship them to me. I will weigh them all and tell you which ones go by jig weight and which ones go by furnished weight.
  25. Yes, this is the common case with MOST spinnerbaits. Blades, skirts, beads, swivels, etc are not factored into the weight.
