B.A.S.S. / Bassmaster thoughts?
Printed information is a dead platform. Like it or not, its a fact.

What technique is “shooting”?
Was going to comment the same. This is my best guess. They're flinging small baits under docks and into cover.

Show Off Your Work!
Those hidden weight design heads are my favorite.

How did I not hook this fish :)
I know you're in a kayak and space is limited, but this is a good situation where casting back with a follow up bait like a Senko or a Tube is usually pretty successful.

How did I not hook this fish :)
You didn't hook the fish because the fish never had the bait.

Bass fishing, but caught (blank) and what lure?
I have caught numerous perch and crappie on a Chatterbait with a 4" swimbait trailer. I don't know how they even get it swallowed to get hooked but they can do it.

Favorite colors from each soft plastic maker
I generally keep my colors simple. Green pumpkin is green pumpkin. Black blue fleck is black blue fleck. But there are a few unique one's out there that I enjoy. Keitech - Bluegill color is so good for literally any moving bait presentation (swim jig, chatterbait, swimbait, etc) Missile - Superbug is the most perfect colormashup ever. Green pumpkin and black/blue fleck all in one bait. Rage Tail - Bama Bug is a mix up of green pumpkin and junebug (purple w/ green fleck)

What would you call this rig?
"When the kayak guy tells you measuring by length is the superior tournament format"

What would you call this rig?
When you don't have a tackle box, so you just tie all your terminal tackle on at once.

What would you call this rig?
I came across this gem on a Facebook group. What would you call this rig? The longer you look, the better this photo gets.

Fish not staying hooked on a jig
Are you using a different line? Perhaps one with more stretch? Perhaps your drag isn't locked down?

Derek Hudnall Retires From BASS Elites
In my area, any store that has popped up over my lifetime that is a dedicated tackle/bait shop has never survived. Every shop that has stuck around and done well has another business that is part of the bait shop (gas station, gun shop, oil and furnace sales, etc).

Derek Hudnall Retires From BASS Elites
This. Really makes me wonder how some of these guy manage it whenever they're only making the cut maybe 2-3 times in a season. An example. Frank Talley has been fishing the elites since 2019. Five events this year. Best finish is 52nd, with two finishes in the 90's. Only made $7500 this season. He won an event in 2020, and beside that he only has one top 10 finish. Entry fees alone for the Elites are about $4500 per event.

Derek Hudnall Retires From BASS Elites
You must not follow the Elites too well. Derek has had a top 10 finish in each of his Elite seasons. He was definitely a good stick.

Derek Hudnall Retires From BASS Elites
Derek Hudnall has announced his official retirement from professional bass fishing mid season. Derek was sitting 55th in points in the BASS Elites this year. He made the cut in 3 of the 5 events this season, and he even managed to take 5th place at Lake Seminole last season. Derek said that financial troubles were his reason for hanging it up. Best of luck in the future, Derek. https://www.bassmaster.com/elite/news/derek-hudnall-announces-retirement-from-elite-series/
