  1. What he said... I personally use 30lb PowerPro Braid for my Frog Fishing on a Heavy 7'6" Flipping Stick.
  2. I think it will do pretty well for the Boston Red Sox run in the fall, god willing. Just because the National League is 1-10 in the last 11 All Star games doesnt mean its a bad idea. ;D
  3. No, thats just someone with good taste! NOT! NOT! sneeze-26-sneeze Just gonna have to wait another 86 years for the next tragedy. A NYYs fan with an avatar of the New England Patriots. I think you might be a little confused there young padawaan.
  4. Well Said LBH. Frogtogg is a class act...
  5. Spinnerbaits + Wind Blown Shoreline = Hold On!!! Jigs + Pork Trailer = My Biggest Confidence Bait!!! Crankbaits I am just now gaining confidence in... Like "roadwarrior" said put everything else down and just concentrate on that one lure/technique. If I had to chose a lure that I cant get bit on it would be a swimbait. I however have only had it for 2 months, I dont fish it enough to get bit because I dont have allot of confidence in it yet.
  6. This has been a mainstay of my fishing for years. I fish these on a light jig rod with a 1/4oz or 3/8 oz football head jig head depending on the depth.
  7. Hey NHguy, Looks like you are doing pretty good out on the water int hat kayak of yours. Rocky Pond in Hollis is pretty decent I used to go there regularly until they put up the resident only parking at the launch. Its ashame the amount of open water here in Southern NH is getting smaller and smaller.
  8. I thought you guys already went out and bought a "Rocket"? You saying its a dud?
  9. This does sound very crazy especially out west in Utah. Looking at it from a different angle though maybe they want the residents to water their lawns so maybe it would decrease the chance of Forest Fires that are so typical in those dry western climates. She also might live in a community where it is written into your deed that your yard and house should look a certain way. Those are the only reasons I could possibly think of that she would get in trouble for not watering her lawn. It is also just like any News organization to leave out the other half of the story as well so the reader is left guessing.
  10. I saw this thread and got me thinking. I see the Walmart displays and keep walking. I throw allot of spinner bait I mainly throw Stanely and Terminator spinnerbaits exclusively. I have had my fill with the cheaper wire baits. The titanium wire has plenty of action to it and will rarely break during a fight. I will spend the few extra bucks ($6-$9) on a bait knowing that its going to last longer. I mean after how many fish do you need to tie on a new bait and pitch the other? If like others have said after 3 fish the Spinnerbait is in tough shape. It doesnt take much to figure out that getting a premium bait will last longer, and will cost less in the long run. Atleast thats my opinion anyway.
  11. Hey c17Lat, I think your best bet would be the Kittery Trading Post over the border in Maine. They have a pretty good selection of equipment and lures. Good Luck and Tight Lines. Hey mdntridr, Welcome aboard and to our little thread for NH fishermen. sounds like you have had some tough days on the water. You might want to try and pick up some Senkos, I usually try and get anyone new to fishing to try them as they are pretty easy to fish and work great. Well Good Luck and Tight Lines.

Couldnt have said it any better myself, Thanks Glenn...
  14. I have always been of the notion that you want to keep the sun in front of you, for instance a cast shadow will spook fish. The rule I go by is not to cast a shadow on the areas you intend to fish. This may mean coming at the area from a different location/angle. Anyway some tips I picked up from some touring pros Fish into the wind never with it and same goes for the sun.
  15. I was fishing in my marina probably 10-12yrs ago. I had on a small floating Rapala Minnow. I was just messing around with it had to have been in the middle of September or so. What comes out from under one of the docks following this all the way across the Marina? A Red Oscar. Now I tried my Damnedest to try and catch it but I couldn't trigger him to bite. I ended up leaving and thinking to myself who was the idiot who let an exotic fish like that go in a Public Lake. I really didn't need to worry what long term harm he was going to cause. I mean I am sure that when that water started to freeze over that he would be crawfish food by then.
  16. Hey all, Cobbets Pond was a little off yesterday. We got fish but did have to work for them. I am not sure if the fireworks that they light off over the pond for the town of Windham had anything to do with it, or the surge in boat traffic. We got out on the water around 7:15am and pulled off at 6:15 when we had some T-storms over head. Things did pick up right as the front was coming through as expected. We got fish on Jigs, Soft Plastics, Top Water, Spinner Bait, Crankbait. Hope you guys had a decent 4th and that you got out on the water and caught some.
  17. I have met Denny Brauer a few times at various speaking engagements and he is a class act. He always has time for fans for autographs and pictures. A real top notch guy from our sport.
  18. I don't know about that ..... although it's not hard I find it to be a pain. I used to do it in high school because it was "manly". Now I take it to a family owned business that my family has been taking cars to for 3 generations now. $15 .... a great deal IMO (and every 8th one is free) I like this idea better....lol. Ok, They somehow over tightened and stripped my Thingamabob, that connects to my whatchamajig, that connects up to my block. Ok...now ya know why I don't change my own oil.....lol. It is however gonna cost me just under $300. If the threads on my whatchamajig are stripped....gonna be more. Like previously posted it sounds like they stripped the threads on the Oil filter shaft. I have a hard time with them making you pay for the repairs. I would contact them and their customer service dept and raise some hell. I just hope you saved your receipt from your last oil change cause right now thats about your only proof. That my friend to you is now like a winning scratch ticket. No way would I let them make me pay for something that they were at fault about. Hope things work out for you and keep us posted on the outcome.
  19. Hahaha Muddy you reminded me of a good story. My Ex GirlFriend's Dad bought a gallon of oil from the local Walmart up here. He got it home and to his amazement, he saw that someone had used the oil. They filled the container backup with their used oil and returned it and it found itself on their shelves for sale. He was pretty upset that he had to deal with this. He then returned the oil and was Fuming angry to find out that Walmart would not return it or grant him a refund on it. I couldn't help but laugh when I heard that story.
  20. Hey all, I was out on Canobie lake yesterday. I was out on the water by 7:30am. I was amazed at how cool the air temp was. The cold front that came through really pushed the temps down. Well we did catch fish but we had to work for them. I couldnt put a pattern or anything togheter. the amount of rods I had on the front deck was a testament to that. I caught fish on topwater, texas rigged worm, Spinnerbait, Crankbait, football jig. I dont know if I'll be able to get out this week with all of the holiday cookouts I got planned. It was nice to get out again. How'd you guys do where'd you go?
  21. Thanks for the heads up and diligent work...
  22. From what I hear from someone who had this actual problem. Is that braided line due to its lack of stretch will work its way into your prop and onto the rubber gaskets of your lower unit and if not removed could compromise the seals of your lower unit, and then costing you a sizable repair bill.
  23. That is truly unfortunate. So I guess I have no standing in other to ask for courtesy and respect while fishing. On the other hand maybe a misplaced cast with braided line would change their mind as well. The funny thing is I dont bother going onto the lake I am talking about that I live on during the weekends. I usually go on the weekdays after work. If I go on the weekends its well before Memorial day and well after Labor day. I hear you. The sad thing is I live on the lake. I have had the same boat for over 5 yrs, people recognize me as the guy that fishes this lake all the time. I have had Charlie Moore out on my lake to tape one of his TV shows, I'm well known on this body of water. I mean I don't want to start a feud with other boaters or have things turn verbal or physical. I would just like some respect and courtesy while I am fishing that I don't have to reel in my line or people are going to run over it, because they are so close. Is it to hard to ask to go around on the outside of me if I am fishing the shoreline or rafts/docks.
