  1. @FishTank He who shan’t be named is eyeballing my front door from a nearby tree at the moment. He’s going to get me for some Picasso A-rigs which Omnia didn’t have in stock earlier when they were $10 ea. Probably some swimbait jig heads as well since I am getting so good at hanging A-rigs on deep ends of laydowns like giant Xmas tree ornaments. Probably another rod as well once those go on sale. Swimbaits too. SIGH!
  2. @TnRiver46 Just need to go out with only that nemesis of yours tied on & you will eventually get a slob. My 2 largest this year both came on one & I'm usually not throwing SB. Gotta run, someone keeps calling me on the phone & can’t take a hint. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
  3. @TnRiver46 just from me watching that vid, there’s probably a few loops already forming. 🤣 In all honesty, my experience with the old reels was quite limited but typically ended on a bad note. This was when I was like 9-10. Dad gave me an old Abu of his & bought me a pistol grip Pro Comp II rod from BPS. He soon saw he’d made a mistake once I’d gone through a spool of line in a couple of months. Used spinning rods most of my life. Never had a real need for a baitcaster until I changed how & which lures I fished. By then, 15-20 years ago, low profile reels were around & any remaining round reels had the magnetic braking added. Learned on those & never really tried the older round reels again. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, ya know? However, if you want to potentially go through a few hundred yards of line, let me know. I’m 4-6 hours away & not too proud to demonstrate my angling deficiencies. Might end up making that outfit your new spinnerbug setup. 🤣
  4. @Carolina Pines condensed response; belated congrats on the PB, ugh on the old job & unfortunate results of idiots drinking & driving irresponsibly, congrats on new job (other thread), lots for which to be thankful. As a dyslexic friend of mine once said, "sometimes life gives you melons." But 3 kids under 6….I’d be like Best of luck in the pursuit of another giant.
  5. That’s awesome GreenPig. Looks like a grey, if I’m not mistaken. None of those in my neighborhood, mostly fox & around 3-4 red squirrels which just appeared in the past few years. However there are greys in IN. The reds (or pineys as some call them) are smaller than fox or greys but very tenacious guarding their food. Too wild to hand feed. Fun animals. Sorry - website is saying I’ve reached my reaction limit for the day 😣
  6. Oh dear lord, no more. Please make it stop. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-SEASONSALE.html?from=basres
  7. I love dogs. Had a lab/golden retriever mix as a kid. Looked like a giant golden but was all black. My dad stands 6’2"-6’3" & as an adult he could put his front paws on my dad’s shoulders & look him in the eye. Really good dog but a klutz as a puppy. Many nick nacks fell victim to his tail & uncontrollable happy emotions. Miss him every day. Not much on the majority of cats, though there are a few I’ve liked. Another critter that can be surprisingly somewhat trained (and eaten)….this is Kevin, coming down to see me & get a snack. He and the rest of his furry hoard probably won’t like your dogs much. It’s unfortunate but come to think of it, most of his kind seem to feel everything not in possession of a peanut or 10 is going to definitely murder them. They come & take peanuts to bury all over the neighborhood, some returning for hours at a time, just like a dog might with a ball. This is Peanut I (deceased). The white bowl was intended to be her water dish. She had other thoughts, obviously, and got an F on this training session, mostly for gnawing the opening in the watering can so she could fit her head in for a drink. She was very tame & would patiently wait for me to get home from work so she could bury her beloved namesake. She had 2 different litters of kittens & each year she’d bring them onto our property to wean them. Ironically to the same location in the same tree where I first encountered her. Sorry for hijacking, just wanted to share. I love (most) animals.
  8. @FrnkNsteen No explanations needed buddy - any woman who approves of new tackle and/or fishes for longer than 30 minutes is a definite keeper for sure. Sounds like an awesome woman. 👍
  9. @N Florida Mike I see the forecast in northern FL is calling for gusty winds with a strong scent of BACON. Nice pigs!
  10. @MN Fisher you have the right concept, unfortunately I was leaning more towards an osprey, eagle or even ostrich.
  11. @TnRiver46 if I ever post a pic of an older level wind such as that, you can be rest assured birds will be flocking to IN shortly thereafter, seeking the newly formed birds nest heard throughout the Midwest. 🤣
  12. Not like I know you personally in RL but I have gathered you got it right. I mean c’mon, she works while you fish & get COVID.🤣🤣🤣 Just kidding - I’m happy for all married folks that are lying that they’re happy.
  13. @FrnkNsteen …..and most importantly, and as always when a multiple rod and/or reel purchase is made, bait monkey approves. Oh I learned also. Unfortunately the trophy I thought I had turned into a bottom feeder & was quickly released.
  14. @Eric 26 I had to Google it a couple of weeks ago. 😆
  15. @FrnkNsteen Who is this SHE person to which you’re suddenly referring? Bait monkey’s mother?😉😉 Wait….could you be…….noooo……but…..no, it couldn’t be…. You’re not r-r-referring to…..oh no……that other creature some of us anglers dread? SWMBO? (thanks for the acronym @galyonj) But yes, @MN Fisher is 100% correct & according to SWMBO, you’re rarely correct, if ever but given a pass on the reels just this one time. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
  16. Still too early to tell, IMO. Injuries can derail an entire season. However, I doubt the next SB champions will be coming from the NFC South.
  17. I am shocked beyond belief. Not only do you use my same password but some of you guys know a lot of the same people I know!
  18. Stole that from Mr. Crappie, Wally Marshall, who is occasionally featured on Pro Team Journal or whatever fishing show Strike King sponsors these days.
  19. @WaskaCrank12 I’d buy you a beer for that post. Well said.👍
  20. Titans punter had a rough game. Looked like he broke his leg when Colts defender blocked a punt. Saw it during the game but haven’t followed up on it. Pretty gruesome looking - don’t watch if stuff like that bothers you. https://youtu.be/sMMrEGyE-KE?si=yg-FIyQmVBNXG0EV
  21. @Woody B Sorry to hear that. Probably from all those spots. Hope you make a full recovery soon. Both of my parents had it back near the end of October while on vacation in CO. Dad only had sinus drainage & worn out feeling bit developed a cough. Mom had very sore throat & also run down feeling. They were given meds from UC medical center & made full recovery in a couple of weeks. Dad still has the cough though oddly enough.
  22. @thediscochef Nice toads. Like the blonde-ish color on the SM.
  23. Especially dolla bills & anglers. 🤣 I have no room to talk. Rods & reels is where I spend the most but those won’t get broke off in 25 FOW & then found by Bluebasser86.
  24. Don’t worry @A-Jay he’ll have 100 feet of sunshine by June & replenish it with sweat.
  25. I can be packed & ready in 2-3 days. Let me know when you’re ready.
