  1. LOL to everyone who hasn't owned both rods but think they have the information they need to compare. J
  2. So, like I figured, it seems to be a toss up. The majority of the split is flouro and mono. Mono users like the stretch, flouro users like the invisibility. Braid trails behind and is used as long as the rod acts as the "give". Interesting stuff. J
  3. What line do you use for crankbait fishing? Why? J

Amen to the two of you who said Cholula. That stuff is great on Pizza. J
  5. Yup, I used mine with Spinners and Chatters just like Daniel said. Never had a problem. J
  6. Thanks Reelmech, as always. I just hoped there wasn't some problem I wasn't aware of. I figured it was just my shoddy technique. Thanks! J
  7. Getting a lawyer is good advice. However, you can fill out the forms for a provisional patent. I believe it lasts one year but extensions can be granted. You should be able to fill out the paperwork yourself. This is how you see the phrase "patent pending". It means there isn't an official patent yet but the idea is still protected. J

Try... Tools/internet options/connections (tab)/Lan Settings/uncheck the box next to the proxy server. There is a very slight chance that could work. But don't blame me if IT comes down on you hard. J
  9. Wow, I just bought that same rod yesterday on sale for $149. I haven't tried it yet but I can't wait. J
  10. I don't like fishing crankbaits. If I do it, it is a necessity. So I don't use Loomis or Croix or Kistler for cranks. I use the $30 BPS Crankin Stick. It casts great and the parabolic action puts steady pressure on the fish while hooked. It isn't so heavy that I want a more expensive rod and it does what is intended. And it is fiberglass I believe. J
  11. I have the box that fits both Spinners and Buzzers. Spinners go on one side and get compressed. The Buzzers go on the other side, clip in on the side of the hook and the buzz end is left free. Just push them all to one side. Sometimes the box is difficult to close if the blades are in the wrong position but it usually isn't a big deal. J
  12. I bought P-line based off of recommendations from this forum also. I applaud the guys that use this stuff, I couldn't cast worth a d@mn either. I stick with my Sufix now, it hasn't let me down yet but it never hurts to try something new. J
  13. Thanks Must fight...urge...to...buy the rest.
  14. I picked one of these up at the local outdoors store for $149.00. Seemed like a pretty good deal. It was the 6'6" M Trigger version. They had about 4 of them and some Falcon Caras. I had to resist buying them all. J
  15. Burley What about the thickness? J
  16. Mine is the wierdest I think. Power worms. I fished with them when I was a kid when they first came out and my olfactory senses have never forgotten. J
  17. I searched here and I saw some references but no specific information. Is there something that goes wrong here? I have a Revo SX and it casts great except for ever so often I just get a hard stop, rebound and backlash. I assumed it was my poor casting skills and difficulty in getting used to this reel. Anyone have any good info and should I send my reel back for a replacement? Thanks J
  18. To everyone who says "I don't use them they are too small"... Have you used them? They are small for a reason, they organize the lures with the least plastic used and they let you keep the valuable space in the boat and bag. I love mine and am almost done replacing all of my others. J
  19. Thank God for Dish DVR. I never saw a single commercial. J
  20. I think color does not matter at all with topwater baits. All the fish sees is the bottom. That being said, I would say to replicate the natural look of all prey. All prey have a light colored belly and a dark back. I think the colors on top are all put on to catch the fisherman, not the fish. J
  21. I consider Jig-X to be the best jigs ever made.
  22. No offense guys but the original poster asked a question. It was not political in nature. He wanted to know if we had heard if the refund was going to count against next year. I think one person answered the question. One person provided an economic outlook (no offense, it was well reasoned). And three more provided nasty comments that helped none. To answer your question, original poster, I had not heard that. But we won't get a real answer because this thread will be locked before the question is actually truly answered. I swear sometimes I feel like finding some posts and just "insert nasty comment about GWB" or some other political remark just so the other people can't talk. End of rant. J
  23. Wow, no one ruined this thread yet like they did mine? No Avid clique so I guess not. It must be my posts that set off the alarm on Glenn's computer cause I only seem to get the flack. Oh well, back to lurking cause posting is a big faux pas.
  24. For some reason, that boat looks familiar. Glad to see you are getting around to that floor replacement. I hope the redneck engineered braces didn't give you too much trouble. J
  25. Depending on what he needs it for, he might be better getting the iphone or one of its copies. Just a suggestion. J
