  1. Welcome aboard from another Middle TN guy! Really nice fish....what lake?
  2. Ditto for me.....an excellent recommendation from RW
  3. Well I gotta respond on behalf of the Nashville posse ;D The college football team (Vanderbilt) will be reminicent of your Wildcat football team but you already know that. The Titans however are alot of fun even though they are down now. The Nashville economy is booming and is a great place for a business owner (I speak from experience here). You already know someone to fish with (me) and would be welcome to join our club. My guess is your Mom would like it if you were in Nashville. Check your PM's
  4. Alligators in North Carolina???? Those girls must have been blond!
  5. I'm just happy we kept the broom out of your hands! And how about that meaningless home run by A Rod! The Amazins are looking very solid this year.....as Chris Berman says "Could go all the way" I'm hoping we can find some good rookies thru all this. DeSalvo looks promising and Clipard was impressive tonight....we'll see.

Wow!!! That is a beautiful rod.....great job RM.
  7. My thought would be to match the colors pretty closly. I think color is chosen largely based on water clarity. Thus I would want to take advantage of the jig and trailer both being the appropriate color for the water clarity being fished.
  8. Ahhhhhh......but a substancial part of Mr April's salary is still being paid by those Texas Rangers.....I love the Rangers
  9. Gonna be Crystal Clear in Nashville tomorrow with highs in the 70's......I have a club tourney on the Cumberland River near Opryland. My partner and I are gonna motor down the river to downtown and fish the bridges, around the barges etc.... Will be takin in the sights of downtown and the Titans stadium and jiggin for a few fish. Should be different and a bunch of fun! Surfin here the night before is a great prelude to a days fishin!!!!!
  10. A tip of the hat to the Mets Fan (I think thats Muddy) Of course you're not scared......he's not gonna pitch this series!!!! ;D
  11. Is there a new posse forming???
  12. I'm honored by your freindship and glad that we have crossed paths. I admire your commitment and perserverence......always the best to you and CONGRATS!!!!
  13. I have both St Croix Premier and Shimano Crucial rods. I like them both alot. If making the choice you have presented I would probably give a small edge to the Crucial.
  14. The reel is rated for 8lb 90yards, is 11.9 going to be too much? How many yards could If it in there? The Ultra soft #6 has a 6 lb test diameter and a 11.9 lb break strength so capacity won't be an issue. Besides, as long as the line is limp and manageable, capacity (diameter) is really never an issue in bass fishing. You will probably never need any more that 30-40 yards of line to land a fish and usually much less. If I'm wrong, based on previous experience here someone will be along shortly to correct me. Agree with all of the above.

Hey smarta...s I resemble that remark No question you should always wear a helmet but you can't legislate everything....IMHO this choice should just be left to plain common sense.
  16. Two Mooks in a boat
  17. Here is the deal in TN as it applies to the Steve McNair case. The law here is if you own the vehicle (which he did) and "knowingly" allow someone who is intoxicated drive it you get charged with DUI. They will have a hard time proving Steve "knew" the driver was intoxicated. They also reported that usually if the driver is charged the owner gets out of it most times. The law goes back to 1955 and a few other states also have this law. This is Steves second DUI incident in Nashville. A few years back he got charged with DUI and having a loaded gun in his car but got off due to some legal technicalities. Most folks here didn't know about this law til this happened and was reported on the local news.
  18. I really like both my St Croix Avid 7' MH and I just got a Powell Max 703c which is also very nice. I'm sure all the rods mentioned here would serve you very well. Specific choices mostly depend on personal preference.
  19. Ya'll have a big time!!!!!
  20. Sounds like my Yankees are getting under some folks skin already.....and it's only the beginning of May.....
  21. Well if you look back at recent history, I think buying a series has had decent results- 4 world series titles since '96. I only saw Boston on that list one time in about 90 years, do I need glasses? All in fun, Muddy! EXACTLY!!!! Thanks for bringing this into the proper and correct historical prospective......Keith, you are a gentleman and a scholar
  22. Hey Redline....I'm sure the new venture will do well but judging from that beautiful new Ranger, the Steez habit etc.... that day job seems alright to me Seriously though...good luck to both you guys....good things come to good people, I know ya'll will do well with it!
  23. All of it....mostly knowing that I'm fortunate enough to have the good health to be able to go out and enjoy the outdoors and all that it entails.....then there is the anticipation of the next outing and the hope of landing that new PB.
  24. Our club (along with 3 other clubs) participated in an outing for the Easter Seals Camp on Saturday. We each took a disabled child out on our boats for a day of fishing on Old Hickory Lake. I'm guessing there were about 25 boats. Despite the cooler tempertures and steady rains the young fellow we took out had a great time. He caught 40 plus fish and it seemed he had the time of his life....in his words "this is awesome". The joy and appreciation he expressed was more fun than catching any hawg. I will certainly participate in this every year (this was the 18th year this has been held). I suspect this was similar to a CAST event. Kudos to LBH for being so involved in making this type thing happen.....good luck to Muddy in his efforts to do this! If any of you have an opportunity to participate in this type event I highly recommend it.....it was truly a great joy to be a small part of making it possible.
  25. Good luck with the new business...........can't wait for the details.
