  1. You will have to kick in at least a 1st round draft choice and a couple of Shimano DCs for Riskkid. ;D ;D ;D Ronnie I'm flattered Ronnie but I think you got me way overpriced.....maybe for a Citica and an old mook who has a year or two left in the pitchin and flippin arm

Ronnie......I have found that many of the drugs they use for crohns disease are also used for rheumatoid arthritis. I beleive both diseases have something to do with the immune system. I believe Humira is similar to Remicade. They do the Remicade by infusion. They tried Remicade on me on two different occasions. It didn't work for me but I know there are very positive results for both our diseases.
  3. That's a thought. They did say they would support with merchandise etc.....
  4. I know sherriff.....I should just go to ebay and get the high speed curado for the same price....sorry for letting the posse down......the devil baitmonkey made me do it!
  5. Put on some beads and throw em around the house. March around the coffee table to the sounds of WWOZ. Fix some sort of Gumbo and add the tabasco. That's my cure to defrost your butt......would hate to hear it froze off!
  6. I've been thinking about a high speed reel. Played with some at BPS this past weekend. Liked the Summit but when looking into it the right handed model is a bit lighter and has a slower retrieve of 28" per turn whereas the lefthanded model is 31" per turn. I noted the lefthander has a wide spool. What's up with all that? I also liked the REVO SX. They are both the same price but the righthanded Revo has 31" per turn. Since I prefer the righthanded model I am leaning to the Revo as it appears faster which is the point with a high speed reel. Am I missing something here?

Thanks fellas, as Tiny Tim said to Bob Cratchett "May God Bless Us One and ALL". All we can do is keep our chins up most of the time. We gotta be thankful for those that support us when we get down and pray for better health or at least comfort when things rear their ugly heads (or tails, arms, hearts, nerves etc...). My prayers and thoughts to all us Broken Fins and to keep the membership in this club as small as possible.
  9. LBH is "DA MAN".....what a great spirit of giving and a sense of humor second to none.....HATS OFF to LBH!

Great thread Avid. I don't know why I am just now discovering it. I have crohns disease big time and have a long story of 6 or 7 surgeries over a two year span in 98 and 99. My normal weight is around 200 lbs but at the time the disease was at its worst I weighed 140 lbs. It's a cronic disease that I will always have but fortunately not life threatening. It's all under control now and I'm back to normal weight. The biggest change it has left me with is that I will have a colostomy the rest of my life. I will also have to go thru a few more surgeries to remove diseased intestine as the disease progresses. That has caused me to modify my lifestyle but I won't let it keep me from doing things I love to do. The biggest thing is learning not to be too embarresed about it. Actually I have some stories that are pretty funny now but weren't at the time they happened. A couple things I have learned is that surgery is less scarey each time and most people are very gracious and understanding of my problems. I like to think of the positives of my colostomy as they are somewhat humorous... 1- I can poop standing up if I have to and don't have to pull my pants down very far (very handy outdoors and in dirty bathrooms) 2- When I fart it goes in the bag and I can decide where and when to release it 3- I can poop anywhere and whenever I want to and just empty the bag later when covenient 4- When I have to have a colonoscopy (which is often due to the disease) I don't have to drink as much of that stuff and the rush to the bathroom is at my convenience Yes there are inconveniences and "equipment" failures but you learn to just get over them.......Guess you just have to say I got a broken tail fin ;D
  11. Enjoy and use it well.....nice tool!
  12. Like a couple of "American Idols" A couple music thoughts: Ain't Texas without Willie singin a song or two......Hank Jr could sing about all his rowdy friends
  13. I'm just planning on having a "TEXAS SIZED" time!
  14. I got this letter today from BPS telling me I'm in the top 10% of BPS retail customers and I can get this preferred rewards card. I think the baitmonkey has infected me or something ;D. I'm sure some of you have this too. Looks like it has some nice benefits. What are your opinions? A coupon for a free "Spring Fishing Master Catalog" came with it. That got me Just wondering what folks that have this think about it.
  15. If I gave you a real minnow before releasing you would you tell all your friends to come see me?
  16. Hey Fourbizzle......my son has that one too.....its called a phopeabia
  17. Not afraid of heights until I have to go up a ladder more than 5 rungs, for some reason that gets to me. Unless I'm lying down I also pass out when a needle has to go in my vein. Getting stabbed, if I get mugged or something just shoot me or beat the fool out of me but please don't stab me. Being eaten alive by an alligator, grizzly bear or some other animal that would like me for dinner. Wonder what they would do to me in Tuscaloosa, AL when I started singing Rocky Top ;D
  18. I'll lend Muddy one of my rigs so you can get him on film using some shimano gear.
  19. UH OH.........I just bought a pretty nice Daiwa.......guess this kid is risking his posse membership.....hope they don't call me a traitor
  20. Dang.....The Muddy Man and LBH are teamin up to beat up on the riskkid OUCH......you guys are killin me
  21. I guess if you define "Yankee" as one of those northerners that were on the side of the war that won,...then yup,...that's us! But if you live in RI and define "Yankee" as "hood ornament" then no,...that wouldn't be me, that would be someone who roots for the team that is opposing their home team, a "Traitor" of sorts. We just wait for them to step one foot out of the crosswalk, lol. You Callin me a "hood ornament"!!!!!......revenge is sweet you wearer of brown cloths and red sox
  22. Hey Zel.....I agree but I think the old guy likes calling himself a mook.....I always remember it as an overused slang term in NYC that could mean anything but I always thought of it as kind of a loveable bum.....my Italian Grandmother used to call us mooks (more like dumb mooks) when we did something stupid.....besides he'd have to change the name of his fishing team
  23. Just ordered some more stuff.......I'm with you LBH....I would gladly make a donation or pay a subscription fee.
  24. Could be worse.....at least he didn't bite it off Seriously though I know that is painful.....hope its not too bad.
