  1. I had that on the list, and frogs. I have done so in the past and never had as much as a swirl. But, I am more than willing to give it another go.
  2. Been in the 90's and 100's for a couple months. This week, dropping to the mid 60's at night. Not getting up to hi 80's or low 90's until afternoon. Hitting up the lake this saturday, looks like around 70 in the am @ 6-7:00am. I usually throw a spinnerbait or chatterbait first thing. Sometimes a buzzbait. There is not a lot of vegetation, one area has some thick grass on the bank, it's real shallow. Help me catch some big ones. My methods have been ok, produced a few good ones, but I think I could do better with some direction/help. I do throw swimjigs when the sun comes up and do ok. Anyone have any quick suggestions for me to try? Crankbaits have been a total bust here for the past year.
  3. agree. d-bomb catches fish. so does the baby d-bomb.

caught a few skinny ones myself lately. I'm guessing the heat might have something to do with it...?

Hit up the creek twice today. About 10:30 this morning...nothing. Went back up after dinner around 7:00pm. Stayed about a 1/2 hour, finally hooked one, saw some minnows scampering, threw the rage lizard on a swing jig, boom. Got dark, went home.
  6. bought a couple dozen swing jigs (swingoilbaits). Nice owner hooks, diff. sizes/colors. For much, much less that trig(hook & tungsten worm weight). I started adding it up, must have $30 worth of weights hung up in the creek this year alone, and $30 worth ain't hard to lose. Figure less than $1.75 for the awesome swing jigs and it don't hurt as bad.
  7. all the time. I know I will never use them all, and end up buying more stuff I don't need.
  8. that circuit board squarebill orashi/whatever...seems like a fish detractor for me.
  9. Will pick some up if I HAVE to have a certain color/size. If the yums/other brand is in stock with similar color/size, I go for the cheaper ones. But will splurge on the senkos sometimes. All brands have worked pretty good for me. The yums last longer.
  10. Not a super hero fan, but will watch with my kids sometimes. Saw age of ultron...sheesh, what a crock, waste of time. Has h-wood milked the super hero tet dry yet? Sure seems like it. Hurry up star wars.
  11. Agreed. Class act. Great show and youtube vids.
  12. From country legends to rock, hair bands, rap/house music. Everything that was played in the 70-80's.
  13. another good video... But when are your videos going to include you catching a fish?
  14. I tend do forget about worms too, especially when I am on a lake throwing swim jigs and swim baits, and swear one is going to hit it...and they don't.

went out today around 6. Been cloudy all day, temps were in the mid-low 80's today, was kind of nice. Took my little girl with me, she hooked up on a nice bowfin on a zoom lizard, Dad got skunked. She had to call everyone on the way home. She is something else.
  17. dang, them fish was hungry. Nice vid.

Hit up the creek after work. Started with a tube trig with trokar tube hook, got a gnarly hit, seen him swirl up top, tried to stick'em...duh, forgot to tighten up my drag, lost him. Got hung up and broke off, went to a green pumpkin zoom worm(old reliable), threw up to opposite side of creek on the bank, soon as it dropped in bam, thought it was a bowfin it pulled so hard, then it jumped once. Bass have been scarce at the creek the past almost 2 months. Got it in to take a pic...then set it free to grow bigger. A solid 2.5 # Biggest bass yet out of the creek.
  19. I'm not a cubs fan, but peek on in them if a game is on. They picked up Addison Russell, young kid from about 15 miles East of us. He would come to my son's team practices several years ago. Great example and motivation for a 9 year old travel team. My boy is 12 now, and sees first hand, hard work and dedication pays off. But, ya...the cubs...lol
  20. I feel for you. I'm 44 and have not had to have anything done aside from some cavity fillings and a bond on a chipped tooth. Sucks to be in pain and have to wait...I'm lucky to work in the dental biz, no wait, even on weekends. I don't know how the VA thing works, but I can offer a suggestion...you could call some local dentists, endo's or oral surgeons and see what they can do for you. I don't know your dental insurance situation. Having a tooth prepped for a crown for 3 weeks...is almost non existant in the non VA world. Many can prep and make a crown in office in less than an hour. If they don't have a lab in office, the labs they send it off to usually have a week or 2 MAX turnaround time. (But the VA is it's own animal) I know the VA's around here do not have the capacity/equipment to do crowns in a day. If you have a general dentist(not all do crowns) talk to them, ask them to call around or something. Someone will be willing to get you in. Keep trying, I see it all the time. The pain, not to mention the issue of serious infection only get's worse with time. I know of many dentists that will do a payment plan if that is an issue. Just suggestions from a guy in the biz. Hope it all works out. Good luck!
  21. Don't know what they taste like, but they are fun to catch. Especially when that's the only thing biting.
  22. lol, so true AJ. Was not even funny, but it was...lol

Hit up the creek with my youngest daughter this evening. Caught a hawg bowfin in the first 2 minutes. Threw our lizards for about another 1/2 hour. Both of us got hung up and broke off. Decided to head home, momma had dinner ready. At least we did not get skunked. Always a good day with my little one. I don't know about you guys, but I am going all in on swing jigs.
  24. ahhh...The prelims were decent, some of the ppv fights were boring. Went to bed before the main card, glad I did. So sick of rousey, not saying she is overrated, just over saturated. Tired of seeing her snarling mug on anything ufc these days. Yes, she is good, but also, yes her competition is almost non existent. Does that make her a goddess of ufc...not in my book. Just WAY ahead of the curve right now. There are probably less than a handful who can contain her, at the moment. Give it time...they will surface and put down rousey. She has paved the way for a new breed of fighter, especially female fighters. If the girls wanna fight, more power to them, I'm all for it. Rousey is a bad a55 for sure, but her reign will end, don't know when, but can't come soon enough.
