fishtank, you have not missed anything...a bunch of left turns, guys pretending they are going to punch somebody, all bowed up, like 2 12 year olds at the game room down at the mall. I do watch the super speedway races on tv from time to time. I won't miss Gordon, or all the swap meet, flea market gordon junk my dad sends my son...go figure.

Great movie. It also gave me overwhelming feelings and emotion of what our armed forces must go through. Bittersweet. Utmost respect to our men and women of the armed forces.

Got my flu shot a few months ago, first time for me. My son came home from ball practice last week, said he did not feel good...by morning he was burning up and complaining of sore throat, wife took him to Dr. Said he had some kind of resp. infection...he was sick all weekend(his birthday, poor kid), and with his diabetes, it can really get scary. Finally went back to school yesterday, feels better, still a small cough. So Monday, I had to go to Ga to work, figured I would just stay the night, such a long drive, by the time I got there Monday, I felt like, crud. I worked through the day to get this job done, I decided to drive home instead of staying, I felt the worst was coming, glad I did. Been sweatin' like a hog for two days laying around at the house. I feel better today, probably go back to work tomorrow. Man, when it hits you, it can really bring you to a screeching halt. Sorry for the rambling, but I have been stuck here for 2 days, and everything on the fishing network is repeats...

Miami is always a baseball threat, but seems they choke in the tournaments in the past several years...they did win conference last year... Hopefully they have added some heat and long ballers... Heck, I just like watching it, I root for everyone BUT FSU. Even though they are usually a contender. NC is always handing out heartbreaks, very good team. LSU...long balls and pitching...these guys play to win, forget about losing home games, that place is packed to the gills like no other. Miss. State...had a great year last year, look for more of the same?

I go there pretty often. I fish Alabama point. Underneath the big bridge, usually on the west side. Catch the tides right, you can catch everything from big bull reds, white trout, speckled trout, flounder, mangrove snapper, ladyfish, cuda's, huge rays, sheepshead and the occasional shark. Nice little area, bring some chairs and a pier net. I use cut mullet and live shrimp on a carolina rig. When the current is running, go with at least a 1oz weight on the shrimp, step up to a 2-3 oz on a mullet head or large chunk. 4500 reels and medium inshore rods on the shrimp and smaller cut bait 1-2/0 circle hook, and 7500-9500 reels with bigger rods on the big baits, maybe a 5-7/0 circle hook. Most of my salt reels are spooled with braid, 20-50lb. Use a 20-40lb mono leader depending on line size, there is some rough stuff down there, and the seawall to tear up the braid...lost a few bull reds from line abrasion. Night is pretty good, but no lights out there, bring a headlamp and lantern. if you can throw a castnet, bring it, mullet run right along the seawall. There is a nice pier also, but I am not a pier guy. The current can be VERY swift, catch the tides and you won't have to be recasting every 5-10 minutes....shorter leader. We have had some good days and bad days out there.

got a hero3+ silver last year...I love it, don't use it as much as I should, but will use it more this year. I have mounts on my kayak and jon boat, and also use the head strap. Got some good fishing videos this past year.

Ever have one of those weeks from... Heading to Academy to buy some fishing stuff I don't need, my truck dies on the hiway...motor sounded weird, won't run...get it towed to shop, they look at it Tuesday, keeps throwing many codes, won't crank...call dealer (out of warranty), it's an 08 2500HD w/ 25k miles, dealer gets it towed to dealership, dropped lifter, bent valve, sheesh. Luckily, the dealership owner is a friend...he said he would cover it for me. So went to get a loaner, he gives me a sweet 2015 gmc crew, loaded, dang it's nice...anyway, looked at my truck, the lifter was still stuck in the block...ouch. Nothing but craziness at work, real busy, and more craziness, people leaving and others calling in sick. I am just waiting for the weekend to go use all these new goodies I got from TW in the past couple of weeks, wife and girls are headed to New Orleans for the weekend, yahoo,me and my son will be fishing for bass during the day, and redfish at night all weekend! screech....my boy comes down with some kind of resp. infection and has been laid up for 2 days really sick. Feeling a little better tonight. I'm guessing the Lord did not want me fishing this weekend. /rant

I will shore fish alone, used to all the time. I always fish with someone else when I fish in the bays/ICW, either a friend or my son. I have fished on my jon boat alone, yes, it can be relaxing and stress free, and give me more time to try different stuff...I don't have near as much fun without one of my kids with me! Just in the past month in my area, 2 guys went missing in the bay while on their kayak, found 1 guy(washed up), not the other... I don't want to be in that situation. For you guys that boat alone, be careful!

roboworms and small flukes have worked pretty good this past year for me.

I sparingly used rat l traps, red eye shad and aroshi this past year. Limited time...not even a single bite. Will make an effort to try and use these more this year and try to figure out how to get some hookups.

Check out those "bendable arm" type mounts. The base mounts to a rail or ram type base plate, transducer connected to arm you can bend off to the side and into the water...and conveniently removable. Just a thought, my jackson kayak does not have round holes, and I thought about doing this with it...

If I strike out, that's alright. I'm sure the slot reds and specks will by in the bay waiting for me and my mirrolures.
