Post Thunderstorm Fishing
Skies are low and thick. But the water is definitely muddied up.

Rod And Reel Position.
When I'm pulling a jig or t-rig though a brushpile I hold the rod kind of high and pull my rod straight up instead of sweeping it to the side. Get hung up less, and I seems to feel the brush more.

Bank Fishing Specific Sub Forum...
I was a bank fisherman for a while. This forum helped me more than anything. You just have to think of the best way to do things for YOUR environment, same as boat anglers do. Also, the best thing I did to help my bank fishing game was get a kayak! Haha

Post Thunderstorm Fishing
We've had thunderstorms the last couple of nights here in the DFW area. I'm thinking about going fishing after lunch today. I really don't want to waste a trip though. Do T-storms effect the bite severely? And what would you recommend I try if I do go? I'll be fishing shallow cover and banks.

Fishing Conversations With Those Who Don't Understand
My wife is the most amazing thing ever, but she doesn't know a work from a spinnerbait. ANYTIME she say "Oh these are pretty" when looking at lures in the store, I buy them. They may be something ridiculous and "loud" but she is much more willing to let me buy things that she picked out lol.

Asking Permission
If your friend knows them then he NEEDS to go with you. But if he can't, I would clean your car inside and out, dress nice, and go knock. Drive up to the house but don't park on grass or anything. Say something like "Sir/Ma'am I was wondering if I help clean up around you yard/pond, if I could fish there every now and then. I will always leave it cleaner than how I found it." If they say no the thank them and maybe leave them your number in case they change their minds and need some help cleaning it up.

I Need Some Advice Guys.
Alright, it's been a while since I posted but I am back with a few questions. I recently started kayak fishing here in Fort Worth, TX. I am surrounded by decent lakes and fellow kayakers who also have a love for bass fishing. Today I went and got skunked while others I were with were catching 5 or 6 so obviously it's the fisherman, not the fish. The water temp was about 67 degrees, overcast skies, wind 10 mph, relatively clear water (6-8 feet), and How would you guys approach a new body of water, with no electronics, and maybe 2 baitcaster and 1 spinning setup? Obviously one with a search bait, one with maybe a topwater, and one with a slower presentation for breaking an area down. I just need some tips on what you would use, how, where ect...It's been very demoralizing going out these past few times and getting nothing. Thanks guys, tight lines!

The Deep Diving Crankbait And The Jon Boat
I have the same issue in my kayak. Sometimes with no wind even a jig will mess with my angles!

Bps Ascend Fs12T Sot Kayak?
If you are going to be fishing moving water I would STRONGLY look into a FS10. They are lightening fast. I have a 2015 FS12T and love it, but I only fish small lakes and slow moving rivers. If that's what your targeting then you'll be fine, but anything with a moderate current I would check a FS10.

Bass Fishing Humor
That is the WORST! Happened to me one time while fishing braid. Threw my frog out at the boat ramp to some beautiful looking pads and all of a sudden VVVRRRRTTTT. Birdsnest. 65lbs braid. Lovely.

Still Searching For My First Lmb.
Going to a local river this weekend, and hopefully I will get it! I've been out 5 times in my kayak so far and haven't really focused on fishing. I've never fished a river before so it'll be a good challenge. Any tips would be greatly appreciated for fishing a slow muddy river. It will be the Trinity River in Fort Worth, TX.

What Do You Want To Learn In 2015
Jigs and Pigs are my main focus this year. But I also want to learn to pair that with a good search bait like spinnerbaits or crankbaits. Also, I need to get more skilled with my kayak. Flipping from the kayak while seated has shown itself to be quite a challenge that I want to overcome as well.

Thinking About Buying A Kayak
Here is a video I made form my maiden voyage on the FS12T. I was able to stand up, but I'm not going to try and fish that way for a while. The thing I like about this kayak is that it has a lot of options for rigging, it holds my big but well, and it tracks pretty decent. It does weigh a lot so paddling might feel like a chore unless you're a stronger guy. I just bought an anchor trolley system and will soon be putting a video of that up so feel free to watch my page for it.

Thinking About Buying A Kayak
I was in your shoes a few months back. I mustered up a few extra bucks and got an Ascend FS12T from BPS. It's awesome. Academy has some good deals right now on some different one so check them out if you're near one.

Good Deed While Fishing Or Any Good Deed
I was bank fishing one time and across the pond was a mother and her 2 young sons. They were fishing with some crazy, never gonna work rig with treble hooks and curly tail jig and all kinds of swivels. It was obvious that she had no clue what was going on. She stepped away to take a call and I heard her talking to who I can only guess was the boys father about having them back to him the next morning. That's when I stepped in. I walked around to them and explained to the mom that I would like to help them have more fun with momma. Tied a proper rig, had the boys digging and searching for worms and insects. Needless to say they were catching bluegills left and right within minutes. Made my wife cry when I told her about it.

Tip Of The Day
Always organize your gear before a trip. And remember to Keep it simple and minimal. One plano box with the basics in arms reach can go a long way.

Jig Or Texas Rig Craw?
I just started kayak fishing and need to know what you guys would recommend. I'm fishing a small lake with stained water. I plan on staying shallow, maybe <10 feet. Would I be better off throwing a jig with a trailer, or a flipping style Texas rig? I'm not really concerned with huge size, just want to catch some fish! I have a 6'9'' MH baitcaster with 20# FC.
