  1. I'm sure it would work well, as it's really just a downsized shakeyhead. Just make sure it's a heavier weight head on it to get it down.
  2. Possibly. I've never looked in to spool weight specs and don't have a Curado so I couldn't compare. If you want to know I can try and weigh it when it gets here.
  3. 1. 15lb fluoro2. 30lb braid 3. 50lb braid for frogs, 12-14lb mono for spooks 4. 12-14lb mono 5. 17lb mono 6. 17lb fluoro or 40lb braid (depending on cover) 7. 10-20lb braid with a 6-8lb fluoro leader 8. ^^ exact same 9. 12lb-14lb fluoro 10. Crankbaits are such a broad category, I can't answer this
  4. I still don't know why they released basically the same reel for $30 cheaper, but I guess time will tell.
  5. My friends got me a $50 Cabela's gift card when I moved out of state so I figured I would put it to use. I payed $100 shipped.
  6. I made a rule for myself after my last cheap Lew's reel purchase. I will not buy a Lew's reel that retails for less than $99.99.
  7. I've had two of these rods. I broke one bending it (my fault) so I bought another one. I have the 6'6" M spinning rod and it is a pretty wimpy rod. I pretty much reserve it for weightless wacky senkos. It also turned out to be a pretty good bluegill rod. Is it worth $20? Of course.
  8. So I've got my mind set on buying the new Citica I. I'm a big Lew's supporter, but I figured it's worth giving Shimano a try. I'm buying the 6.3:1 model for spinnerbaits. I'll write a review after I get it out on the water.
  9. You haven't? Their 6" and 7" sizes are very common for it.
  10. I just take another hook and push the point under the wraps and pull them out. Then you can cut them or just keeping unraveling it.
  11. I understand the grief you're going through. I'm stuck using a left handed baseball bat.
  12. I wish I lived in Virginia haha! I've been wanting to try out those hooks, but couldn't justify paying 3x+ more than what I do for my current dropshot hooks. Also, this should be moved to the Fishing Tackle Forum.
  13. Carolina rigged pink hula popper?
  14. Interesting. I'll try to find it. When I tie direct with braid, I always use the palomar because it is so quick and easy. Plus I don't see 50lb braid breaking very easy with any knot.
  15. The clinch knot is slightly notorious for unraveling with braided line because of braid's flat shape.
  16. If there is a 7' M/F model, that would be my choice. You really can't beat it for an all-around spinning rod.
  17. X2. If you use braid, you pretty much need a leader. Whether it be mono or fluoro, try to stick around 8-10lb.
  18. I use the double clinch knot for fluoro and mono and a palomar for braid. I believe it makes a significant difference.
  19. Lew's Custom Speed Stick spinnerbait model.
  20. People are ranting because the pricing doesn't make sense. Nobody is saying it won't be a good reel.
  21. It's hard to say. There is no perfect bait for a "pond with murky water." If it has grass, I'd say try the spinnerbait. But we don't even know what kind of jig you have.
  22. I have had a couple experiences with their customer service, and it has been amazing. I can't compare them to St. Croix or Shimano, but I can assume they are just as good if not better. I had a problem with the retaining ring on my handle on my Team Lite once. They sent me a whole new carbon fiber handle.
  23. Awesome. I think I might buy the BB1 because of how smooth it's supposed to be.
  24. Has the Duckett Ghost even been out for 2 years? And did you contact Duckett about your snap? I'm almost positive they'll help get you a new one.
