  1. the last time I went for a full day of fishing and I was being serious and didn't catch one was March 3 2016... Water was 38 degrees in the first tournament of the year . No one caught a fish in any lake or the near by four that anyone heard of and there were three tournaments going on and all goodwinter anglers . If I get the feeling it's going to be a grinder I grab a jig and I grab a shakeyhead worm on light light line .
  2. I only use flouro to flpitch jigs/plastics in wood and clear water... Like western branch here in va ... I now use #12 yozuri on all other baitcasters. I only like yozuri at this weight however .
  3. Great jig guys all know when it's cold ..: about the "Poak"
  4. Jig or trick worm are my go to baits ... When I can't catch a fish on a crank I will vary between swimming and pitching the jig or trick worm
  5. I still use my duckett ghost when I'm fishing with my kids family etc. but I own all duckett rods from ghost to white ice and I have never had an issue with their customer service. I have caught bass as big as 8lb on their med spinning to 7-11 swimbaits white ice rod ... I have had no bad issues with the rods ... And before this i used one nrx on stradic Fi and glx on core 50 ... In Florida ... last fours years been ba Boyd man here and a loomis bass and custom cal star blank dry tortugas fishing there
  6. You can pitch or punch with it ..swim air rods contrary to popular belief can't just be broomsticks ... Idk about umbrella rigs as I don't fish them.. But I've never seen a scenario where a broom stick feel rod was a good choice
  7. Great news .. Keep up the good work I'm super about kids achieving physically and not just being video game warriors
  8. Now you got the confidence you're throwing a bait fish eat . That's all you need
  9. Believe it or not I'd give #10 yozuri hybrid a shot . It might surprise you
  10. I like xcalibur xr50 xr75 6th sense 70x Red eye shads are hard to beat for the price .: I usually only use the xcaliburs in grass and places without wood these days .
  11. I'm starting to really really like 12 yozuri .. Been catching a lot of fish on it .. And it's extremely versatile in throwing all forms of jig .
  12. Depending on your age and social climate boca has nice things to do ... In Florida just go easy on a road or highway til you see water then south and you'll find entertainment of almost anyone's liking . JBs is nice in Deerfield .. There are some nice areas in Broward like las olas... The coconut creek casino is a place I win a lot and is nice to hang . Also hard rock in Hollywood ... But I probably would get on 95 air turnpike and take the 20-30 min drive south Don't have so much fun at night that you're sobering up while throwing top waters like I used to lol
  13. Prespawn >>>>>>
  14. Chrome usually comes off faster but
  15. I like a mh to truly swim the jig in most wood and grass ...not in Florida ... In Florida I swim it with a 8ft xh ... I often have the same thoughts .. Sounds to me like that will be a better plan to use the 734 for jigs and the MH for the bladed applications
  16. If not too central I'll bring me and my prowler which can hold another member for sure
  17. Since its warmed up I've been catching them on skinny dippers and swim jigs . Trap and crank bites have slowed up around my parts . Plastics will rule soon
  18. Welcome from a fellow va bass enthusiast
  19. Well I guess that's what I'm going to do this week when I have time thanks for the tips
  20. Does anyone have both of these reels yet ? Looking to purchase one of the two in XG and I honestly don't have experience with either yet ... It will be used to pitch and swim jigs and pitch/punch Texas rigged plastics exclusively on 16# fc or 12 yozuri hybrid. I'm looking for something that can handle close quarter combat in all forms from the pitching presentation to setting the hook and fish in. Any tips or upgrades I should know about would be greatly appreciated as well . Anyone have a preference and why ?
  21. From '96-'13 fluke ... 13-.. Trick worm ..
  22. That's what I'm hearing . I wished the metanium looked like the bfs though .
