  1. That's the problem. If you are not a knowledgeable investor how do you really know you are in a good investment? When I was in high school we had a class in finances and we were told that blue chip stocks (stocks that have been consistent earners) were your best bet for long term retirement stocks. Those were stocks like J.C. Penny and IBM. Problem is that has changed. The new blue chip stocks are Facebook and Amazon. The tech revolution changed the stock market as much as it changed everything. But in 10 years are Facebook and Amazon going to still be blue chip or will it be Alibaba and some other company that few people are looking at now? If you know little about stocks and the market its like you are in a room full of bear traps and you are blindfolded.
  2. Susquehanna Fishing Tackle shop is having its annual Bass Fest Sale Jan.11 & 12. They got reps from a lot of different vendors, door prizes and seminars from some of the big names in bass fishing. This years line up of seminar guests includes Ish Monroe and David Fritts. Mike Iaconelli will be there for a meet and greet all day Saturday. Check it out if you have the time.
  3. Retired.... Never gonna happen unless that lottery ticket I bought pays off.
  4. mmmmmm…….just ate the last of the left over kielbasa now I'm wanting more. Gonna stop by the old Polish meat shop for another 10 pounds.
  5. Good to hear you are getting better. I hope your recovery is an easy one. Just remember that leaning on family and friends isn't just for physical recovery.
  6. The Rooney's will never fire him. Its not what they do.
  7. Simple recipe...half a small glass of bourdon with a few cubes.
  8. Its a shame for my Steelers that the new Baker Mayfield had to turn into the old Baker Mayfield in the last minute of the Cleveland/Baltimore game. But if the Steelers hadn't tied with the Browns and flat out lost to the last place Raiders that game wouldn't have mattered to anyone.
  9. My local Walmart has $1.00 spinner baits that you don't need to add a blade to so I'll pass on the knuckle head bait.
  10. I wouldn't waste the $2.98 to find out.
  11. Someone's not getting much work done over the holidays. This is great.
  12. I think you could be as fair as you can and the results wouldn't change. The blade is the important part of a spinner bait and they removed that. You can reinvent the wheel but if its square it ain't gonna work.
  13. Great article Glenn. You get to have all the fun. The one big upside to the Fish Pro that I can see is that it can pull double duty. You can fish with it on those days when you want to get out by yourself and also use it as a PWC when you are with the family just horsing around. A good compromise for those with a missus that is dead set against getting a boat.
  14. Is the feel the same as with a Colorado or willow leaf bladed spinner bait or is it more thump or less thump?
  15. They're heavily discounted at the Dick's in my area. Even with that nobody is buying them. Not sure if or how they work. Anybody use them?
  16. My advice, if you can afford it, get a nice replica mount of a bass caught by that bait and put the lure in its mouth as sort of a tribute. A friend of mine did that with a topwater bait he had for decades and caught his biggest bass with.
  17. That is what most people do. As for other alternatives, you could write a book, sleep, practice the waltz, organize the coins in your pocket according to size and denomination, play a rousing game of mumbley peg, part your hair differently, yawn a lot, and my personal favorite, play "Guess That Smell".
  18. Trust me. @12poundbass is correct. It was so boring that I did it twice. I couldn't believe something with fishing in the name could be that boring. It was.
  19. Everybody sees it. Got an email from them saying they were showing all 25 days.
  20. Yea. Caught my limit and now I'm putting them in the freezer so they don't go bad.
  21. I could have gone a long time without seeing that.
  22. Haven't held one yet but if its like the other P's sig has I really would like to. The grip angle on the P320 allows me to point the gun with one easy motion. I currently own a 1911 compact made by Armscor out of the Philippines and when I bring the gun up to aim it I have to tilt my wrist up to put the front sight inline with the rear sight. With the Sigs I don't have to tilt my wrist. Its just one fluid motion of bringing the arm up to the target.
  23. I've been checking out inflatable PFDs as well. They passed a law in PA a few years ago stating that from the beginning of Nov. thru to the end of April all boaters must wear PFDs when in a boat on the water. The "horse collar" variety I have now don't lend themselves to fishing so I must buy an inflatable. I'm looking to pay under $100. If anybody has any recommendations I'd like to hear them.
  24. Looks like there's gonna be a rumble.
  25. Merry Christmas to all the forum members. Hope yours is a happy one.
