The man, the myth, the legend......
Thats the great thing about pro fisherman. In other sports you have to pay money, wait in line, kiss some youknowwhat just to get an autograph. I attended 2 elite series tournaments and afterwards the anglers gladly hung around and signed anything anybody wanted. It reminded me of what Nascar use to be like in the late 70's early 80's. Before all the big corporate money started rolling in. I'm not a person who collects or wants autographs but it was great to see Greg Hackney and Jacob Powroznik stop what they were doing to give a kid no more than 10 yrs old an autograph.

SMALLIE -NADO
Springs right around the corner...I can see it from here. Soon the smallies will be fattening up for the spawn. Hear that sound...its me chomping at the bit!

Antique lure who made it
Is that with or without the original box/packaging? I know some baits are worth a lot more with the original box and worth very little without it. Saw a Antiques Roadshow about old lures.

2017 Goals
My goal is to work more on finesse fishing. Work on detecting the finesse bite and keeping fish hooked when using smaller hooks, lighter line and softer rods.

Bass Fishing Blasphemy
Haven't caught any fish on that darn whopper plopper. Right now its sitting on my coffee table and I'm trying to decide whether I should put it in the tackle box or just leave it where it is.

Cheap boat (jon boats are good)
Brands are not that important. Most jon boat brands are the same. And for $800 bucks for boat, motor and trailer your selection will be limited. Just make sure the hull is good, the transom is not cracked and there are no holes below the water line. As far as length, I've fished 2 people in a 12 ft. jon but its cramped. For more room 14-16 ft are better for 2 people. If I was you I would save up some more money. Get a better motor, bigger boat.

What are the legendary bass waters of U.S.?
Back in the day (early 80's) Eufaula was one of the legendary lakes.

Kudos on the Normans. Got a lot of those in my tackle box and they are fish catchers.

cabelas rods?
I got 2 tourney trail rods,a 6ft. light and a 6'6" med.heavy. Great rods for the money. Bought both on sale which makes them an even better deal IMO.

Best Way to Cook a Steak?
I'm surprised no one has mentioned this method by now...Cooked on the manifold of a 1970 Dodge Challenger RT convertible with a 426 Hemi engine. Btw, you must supply the above mentioned automobile and I'll buy the steaks. Just give me the keys and I'll pick up the steaks and any cold beverage you want. Gotta warm up the engine to cook the steaks properly.

Big bass mystery
Not sure what the life expectancy of a bass is but its possible that recent deaths due to old age and other natural causes have lowered the number of large bass. Combine that with an over-abundance of small bass and less baitfish seems to be your answer.

Fantasy Fishing
Ended up with 5th, 7th, 25th, 57th, and 103rd. Solid mid-lower pack. I thought, like others, Chris Lane and Randall Tharp would do much better than they did. It was surprising Randy Howell didn't make the first cut.

So is the next tourney at Toledo Bend or do they have FF for the Classic?

SMALLIE -NADO
I figured the heat was on. The 70 degree temps brought on a early feeding surge. I saw a large group of boats on the river friday. Funny thing was they were all fishing withing a stones throw of each other. Someone must have found a spot and everyone else was waiting for him to float away from it.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
I really wanna know how these baits do. I was eyeing them hard at the BPS during my last trip there. Was gonna pull the trigger but couldn't justify it.

Can't believe on the last day Horton only pulled in 11 pounds 7 ounces for the win.

Greatest lure ever made?
Plastic worms with out a doubt. Few lures can out-fish it. I never go fishing without plastic worms of some brand in my tackle box.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Went to the Greater Philadelphia Outdoor Show in Oaks today. Told myself that there was nothing I needed as far as baits but maybe I'd bring home some hooks and weights. Yea, but when they offered all 3 packs for only $12 how could I not buy them. It would have just been wrong not to make that purchase.

Fantasy Fishing
6th, 8th, 15th, 57th and 103rd. Better than last tourney but still glad this game is free.
