  1. I am posting here having same problem. I tighten the spool tension knob as tight as it can be tightened and spool still moves. I bought this reel new in 2017 just now using it unfortunately
  2. My curado k reel seems to stay loose. I can’t make it tight enough. Tons of slack in the spool and my bait never stops falling at a quick rate causing tons of backlashes. Any suggestions as to what the problem and solution may be?
  3. 5 years and a heck of a time trying to remember my password, but I am finally back! I’ve been away from fishing for a long time, but recently caught the bug again. I live in Greenwood, Indiana now. I’ve been divorced/married again since I posted here last. I also have a 7 month old son now! I’ve owned 3 different boats that all have been sold. I now have a pair of kayaks we take down river to fish. I’ve owned more rods/reels/tackle than I want to admit or remember. personal best to this point is 4lb 11 oz greenback 3 lb bronze back. I fish the river almost exclusively now.
  4. In my kayak I’ll take 1-3 Rods. 8:5:1 my/f 7.2:1 mh/moderate spinning rod
  5. I never got into it any farther: I just left it at my parents house. I think they put it in the bottom of their pond.
  6. I just looked over the boat again, and I couldn't find a hull. it does however has some old remnants of stickers for registration numbers. this makes this mystery all the more complicated.
  7. I was recently given an old jon boat from a farmer who harvests across the street from my parents, and I am not entirely sure how to get it registered. The farmer bought the land this year, and he found the old boat on the property. He knew that I was a fisherman and he had no use for it, so he gave the boat to me. I want to get this boat in the water, but the BMV website is as clear as mud. I can't seem to find a hull number on it anywhere, so I am not sure that the boat has ever been registered. I have no idea of knowing who the previous owner is either, so there is no way to track down a title. if anyone has suggestions please let me hear them. I called the BMV already, and they were limited help as well.
  8. Truck just kept going, if there is a claim filed my car insurance will cover it, but no one stopped after they hit it. Multiple semi drivers kept running it over
  9. I just bought a brand new 2016 Honda 9.9 horse motor a couple weeks ago and yesterday was the first time I took it out. I was coming home 4 miles from my exit and the motor fell off the back of the boat. It was run over by a semi and is totaled. The transom on my job boat was marine wood and it slipped off going down the road. I tightened both of the knobs well before I left the dock to return home and they didn't budge. We fished all day and didn't have a problem. 3k down the drain. Oh well atleast no one got hurt. Moral of the story don't buy nice things if your name is jitterbug
  10. Simply amazing baitcasters. I have owned 5 of 6 different models, and they all are workhorses. I don't buy anything else. I prefer pflueger spinning, but they make good spinning reels.
  11. I always use my left hand on the rod too.
  12. Just personal preference I guess. I feel like part of rod is missing on pistol grips
  13. I like cork, but not too picky. Longer handles are Where the party is at though
  14. Power pro for everything. I'll use trilene leader at times
  15. I have a bunch of ghost rods I'd sell in a bundle for cheap. Pm me for details if interested
  16. Fishing the Midwest is one of the best channels on YouTube regardless of genre. Hands down best fishing channel
  17. Speed, I can throw a nice box together for you for a good price. Just pm me. I've got tons of gear I'd love to pass on
  18. I love a good top water too. Get a super spook jr in bone...it's my favorite lure. A good popper is always a must too, plus tubes are great lures
  19. personally a medium fast action rod would be my choice to do all of this. I know not exactly conventional but it works for me.
  20. I have 3 of them and they are great reels for the money. I've fished them over 2 years without issue. You can find them on sale around 50 bones and it's the next reel for that price I've found I have a couple bb1 pro reels and the carbon fire are not as nice but still very good. For the money I an very impressed
  21. Palomar for everything
  22. I actually have been looking at st Croix rods. They feel Great
  23. After reading roadwarriors rod basics thread I have bought 3 reels...lews bb1 pro 7.1:1, lews bb1 5.1:1 and pflueger president spinning reel. I am wanting 3 rods to go with these reels to cover all my bases like he talks about. I want to keep it simple and catch fish. Cost for rods isn't huge concern. I like rods between 6 foot 6 and 6 ft 10. I fish from bank a lot so shorter rods are good plus my jon boat holds them better. Its a personal preference
