  1. There is some learned behavior needed to not get hung up as much. I can't even begin to explain it but it’s just one of those things that you learn through trial and error. I find that braid hangs up worse in wood than mono/flouro. It seems to cut or dig into the wood more.
  2. Well someone is right and someone is wrong. I don’t think fish are as sensitive about it as humans. Fish what you got and be happy. everyone knows rattletraps and Cordell spots catch more fish anyway so does it really matter? Lol
  3. The pinion was a weak point on lews reels and the reason I got away from them. The new P2 reels should be a welcome addition to the lineup. I think they will out cast anything on the market but the rough gear feel drove me nuts.
  4. I like frog and pitching rods in 6’10” to 7’. Something in the Falcon 6 power is my preference. I don’t want a broomstick for either technique.
  5. The Falcon Cara Amistad is great for 1/2 and 3/4 oz.
  6. I have a very serviceable homemade one but I liked the 2 piece design for string removal so I bought one.
  7. There is nothing wrong with them as far as quality or anything. I just prefer the way fuji ecs style fits my hands.
  8. Carbonlites are really nice rods and compare in sensitivity and quality to some brands costing twice as much. Too bad I don’t care for the reel seats and grips, otherwise I would have many more of them .
  9. I’m sure I’m the odd man out but I find spinning gear more challenging in the line management dept than light bait casting rigs. I have tried multiple times to use spinning gear and always go back to casting. The line twist issues and the fact that I cast cast more accurately with a bait caster are to compelling for me to change. I guess if I were fishing for panfish I might go spinning but I’d probably just use a zebco 11 and be happier.
  10. Can you point me to a Battery Tender with the desulfator feature? I can’t seem to find one with that option.
  11. Falcon lowrider or bucoo
  12. I agree. The dock rocker is a great jig.
  13. That’s what I said a while back and was laughed at for suggesting it. Glad someone else thinks so too.
  14. I have had to retie my backing to mainline knots before due to them being overly large and yes it caused vibration. Tied smaller knot , problem solved. These were 7 turn uni-uni knots so they were quite large and caused a small bulge in the mainline.
  15. If it’s a college team jersey with actual sponsors that actually gave money or support to your team then I’d wear it. I think the team owes them some support in return as well. If it’s just a bunch of names and logos just to look cool then I think it would be stupid to wear it.
  16. Why are so many of you using braid? Is braid your normal lime for other techniques or is it specific to swim jigs? I only use braid for frogs but would like to here the reason for braid in a swim jig presentation.
  17. I love when people keep arguing over simple things that clearly have a right and a wrong answer yet the losing side can’t let it go.
  18. If tw is too high buy elsewhere. I enjoy their shipping rates, speed and customer service so I don’t typically nitpick their prices. There certainly are times I buy somewhere else due to color or availability but cost is rarely a factor unless it is a $100 or more item.
  19. I had the Christie 7’3” and for tip up frog use it was great. It would make really look cast and was the perfect action for hooksets. For tip down working the frog from the boat it was too long and tip heavy for my liking. I never liked any of the Cristie rods. I had them all and thought the larger guides added too much weight . The bucoo micro rods were great and I still have several of those. I bet the sr version would be perfect so if you like a 7’3” I’d go for it.
  20. Wrb. What snap do you use? My only issue with snaps are that some tend to snag weeds more than others.
  21. What do you mean by “whip off the reel with wd40”? Like the outside to clean it or on the line?
  22. I’m pretty sure the Mb has dual braking on the lfs frame and the mg has magnetic only on the earlier series frame. I prefer the tournament or tournament pro. They had the earlier series frame and dual braking. Earlier series reels seemed more durable / longer life and I like how the larger frame fit in my hand.
  23. Cool old school lure but not worth the effort with so many other lures and techniques available today. I do love fishing old lures with my grand dads pistol grip lews rod with a round abu for nostalgia. It that’s the extent of my old lure use.
  24. I wish people that constantly call out people for calling things some name other than the name they use would use spell check when doing so. Lol
