  1. I was picking them up to keep other stuff from eating them. And just kinda cleaning up were I fish. Then saved them to melt. But I decided not to get into all that headache lol
  2. Nice!!
  3. The tatula xt are great rods. They look like they should be way more expensive. I had 2 of them. They fished well and looked good. Sensitive. They are worth the $100 price
  4. I fish some heavy pressure ponds in the Midwest. I always look around. Find all kind of lures. I pick up the soft plastics and bring them home too. People are bad about leaving those everywhere. I leave the sunglasses and fishing pliers and all the other crap incase they come back. Or grab them and leave them on the walking trail.
  5. I would have too!!! Beautiful catch! What did it eat?
  6. Ahh that explains it have t looked there yet. I like that about the regular EVO it’s more of a thump than a buzz. I never had much luck on the minimax an I contribute it to the buzz. And they were hard for me to get started and keep running.
  7. Nice! I haven’t found any EVO minimax yet. But I’m liking the regular EVO. I tried red as well but no luck yet here in Iowa. Green pumpkin with a shad type trailer tho has done well. Great catch!
  8. Nice catch!!! Went out about an hour. We got a tiny front making it colder today. Next week warms up significantly. Can’t wait for next weekend. Threw a bladed jig and a underspin with a mayor trailer and a lil spike it dye. Had three hits. Got this one. And got to try out the kastking scale my wife and daughter got me for Xmas. Went 1.5 pounds. I’m glad fishing is coming back!
  9. Keep killing it! Ride that train till there’s nothing left. Last year everything for me was a string of 1-2.5 pound fish. And I mean a ton of them. A lot of fun. But I only got one around 5 pounds
  10. That’s the truth
  11. Well done! Quality fish!
  12. Beautiful fish! I hope we stay ice out. Our weather has been nuts this year hasn’t it? You find some real monsters for Iowa!
  13. I have looked into those. I wouldn’t be opposed if I found a good deal on one
  14. Went back out it warmed up to 40 degrees and sunny. As soon as I got there wind picked up to a stray 13 with 20mph gusts lol. Threw a bladed jig again and a 1/4 ounce owner underpin with a 4 inch crush city mayor. Channeling my inner @Swamp Girl nor a single bite lol. Stopped at another pond I fish not a bite lol. The first pond has never produced for me after about 10am. But man it’s a good one early. The second pond is usually good any time. But waters still insane cold lol. Good day all in all!
  15. For me I try to stay around the $100 range but alot of those good reels have gone up so I shoot in that $140 or less range. And it’s pretty much Shimano or Lews for me. They palm well. Perform well. I’ll watch some YouTube vids on them read some tackle tour or *** reviews. Go to the store and check them out. And go from there. I like larger paddles ( Shimano lacks this) and I like aluminum frames.
  16. Those are quality pond fish!
  17. Well had a great morning in the 29 Degree weather. Bladed jig and a crush city freeloader did the trick. Hooked 5 landed 1. All small and cold. Guides started to freeze and effected keeping fish hooked and landed lol. But had a great time. Thanks to everyone for the responses.
  18. Oh man. I will definitely be trying again later lol
  19. lol thank you. They are so cold they barely fought but it was a good morning. probably go back when the suns out and if warms up
  20. Thanks Pat!!! Oh they for sure are. May try again later when it warms up and sun comes out. I’m glad I took the shot at a cold early spring morning tho lol.
  21. First fish of the year. Went to one of the regular ponds. Just before sun up. Throwing a bladed jig and a freeloader trailer. Left and went to my pond that was super productive last year. Hooked 5 and landed one. No big fish. But alot of them hit right up shallow where I could see them. Had a ton of fun. Cold. But fun lol. Guides were freezing so I think that affected me keeping fish on after the hook set lol. And I’ve got a lot of confidence in a bladed jig now.
  22. I could not say this any better myself.
  23. Thanks so much for the great reply. I completely agree with you on all that
