  1. I fish the same ones as @Swamp Girl they really single up incredibly well. I need to get some bigger ones. I use the 3/0 currently. So I use smaller soft plastics. But love the mayors.
  2. Thank you! I have a 3500 and 3600. And I could use more dividers.
  3. I didn’t know you could get more dividers.
  4. I tried them on spinner baits but didn’t like it. Didn’t get around to putting one on a swim jig last year.
  5. I haven’t had a Daiwa baitcaster in years. But the lews LFS speedspool is no slouch in that price range. I love the couple I have.
  6. I paid more attention to the mlf tacklewarehouse pro event. But caught up on the elite. Good for Hank cherry on his birthday and with an old school technique. Reminded me I have a pack of green pumpkin fat Albert’s. I’ll throw some on a bed head this year.
  7. This. This makes complete sense and basically wha will end up happening to me. Kinda where I’m at as well. I know where they will be for the most part. My ponds aren’t huge. And I know what worked last year.
  8. I’m glad I’m not alone here. I know once the water thaws and get there I’ll try some new things here and there but will mostly fish what I know works. Except a lipless crank bait. I’m gonna fish the heck out of one of those this year.
  9. I just saw this in Facebook group I’m in for jig making. Thanks for the reference photo!
  10. See that’s exactly how I’ve always been. That’s why I use a waist pack. Limits the nonsense. So I’m surprised I’m thinking this way. It’s gotta be cabin fever
  11. I can see that struggle. I’ve been watching the tackle warehouse pro circuit all weekend. Seeing Keith poche fishing makes me want to fish bad I love him and his style.
  12. I know what worked last year and took a lot of pictures to put the date and lures used together. So I know what works in my area. I guess I’m just getting antsy lol
  13. I’ve been tying jigs all winter lol
  14. I like this. I personally Have a waist pack so I can only bring what I think I may need and very limited options.
  15. So last year I did really Well. On a select few lures or techniques Jigs Neko rig Texas rig ribbon tail Top water chopo or popper I mixed in some weightless stick Baits occasionally and caffeine shads Threw the occasional Spinner bait or blades jig Winter has me all over the place. I wana throw rattle traps, blades jigs, buzzbaits, ned rigs you name it. Anyone else get this way over winter? Do you go into the season simple? Or throw the kitchen sink at them? I’m on the bank so I don’t ever take more than 2 rods. Maybe 3 if I’m feeling crazy
  16. I have some of both. I like the old boxes better. That’s just me tho. I’ll have to hunt for some on closeout. But I totally agree for what they cost not on sale. It’s to much. The new ones do seem more durable.
  17. Thanks guys! I have some 8 pound flouro and also use 15 pound braid.
  18. So in saltwater I always ran 2-3’ of flouro leader. I’ve never ran a leader in freshwater that I can remember. But I’m gonna give the Ned rig a big go this year. How long of a leader are you fishing on your spinning rigs for the ned rig? Most ponds I fish aren’t more than 10 feet deep.
  19. Wasn’t gonna buy anything else for spring. But fleet farm had buckets of clearance. $13 went pretty far
  20. These are standard skirt tabs. I wana order some of the finesse tabs to play with. I like making the jigs almost as much as fishing lol
  21. Wire tie, braid or thread tie is my favorite. I wire tie a lot less than thread tie though. Jigs and spinner baits last til ya lose them that way
  22. I have wire and thread tied. Just take your time and it works out great. I made some with o rings when I started. They do work. These are the boss mini flips and skirt tabs from fishing skirts site. Jig man has been a huge help and is a great guy. If ya ever have any questions I’d be glad to help.
  23. I let the trailer dictate how much I trim the skirt. I fish a much smaller more compact trailer on my finesse jigs. So I trim them to keep the skirt from interfering with the trailer action. Some of mine are compact full jigs. Some are thin less strand finesse cut. Just play with them and see what works best for you. I will say this. I catch way more fish and my PB on finesse cut jigs
  24. I plan to! I’ll still fish my bones real close To the house they are convenient and produce. But I wana explore some more this year. And see what I can find
  25. I’m gonna add a rod to my set up because I have a reel. And I may replace one spinning rod. Other than that I bought a few baits to try and a little terminal tackle. This year I’ll fish what I have and that’s that.
