Had a local club tournamant this past friday evening. We had 12 boats and we fished a small 200+ acre lake. We do an evening 4 hour shootout on fridays from 6pm to 10pm throughout the summer with bigger tournaments in the spring and fall. Missed winning it and the winner take all pot by exactly one ounce. Bright side is that it is my third straight top 3 finish and my 4th straight top 5. I feel like i’m getting close. I have learned so much and have grown as an angler by fishing a little bit competitively even if it is only at the local level.

So proud watching Nolan. You gave it your best and made a statement that your an elite college fisherman. Keep up the good work and the wins will come.

A lot of winning bass are being caught right now on my home lake during my weekly club tournaments that are holding in thick lilly pad fields anywhere from the inside edge up near the back out to the outside edges towards the main lake in 8-12ft water. I have been catching limits to weigh in every week but I am struggling to find the bigger bass needed to make the jump from 3rd or 4th into 1st. If I decide to flip jigs it seems like the texas rigs win it and if i flip a texas rig it seems jigs win. Help me out here - how do you determine which one to throw and when? I usually try to flip a jig first and if its just too thick to get a jig through without getting hung I will go fully weedless with the t-rig. How do you guys go about deciding which one to throw and when?

If I think bass are foraging on crawfish I will contrast (green/brown skirt with black trailer) and if I feel they are foraging baitfish I will match (green/green) etc.

I forgot about this post lol. It’s been a good first season I have placed in the top 5 once and top 3 twice in 6 tournaments. I am catching limits but just cannot seem to catch the right fish to get over the hump to get a win.

Thank you for asking them. The lake I want to map is only a small 200+ acre lake so hopefully there will be enough space for that.

Is it possible to insert a preloaded Lakeview HD chip and record a new map for an area not included in Lakeview through the quickdraw feature and have it store it onto the Lakeview Card? I have the lakeview hd chip for my echomap 73sv but one of my local lakes isn’t mapped so i’d like to use quickdraw to map it but have it save it to the lakeview chip so I have it on there from now on.

Terminator’s Pro Series Cover Jig in 3/8 oz is a great jig that can be fished through grass and wood cover. I highly suggest the Green Pumpkin Orange color pattern.

Bullfrog Sunscreen + Insect Repalant

I’m not familiar with the colors you’ve mentioned but maybe I can simplify it for you a touch. All soft plastics have a base color with color accents added such as black/blue or green/red flakes. Some have multiple accents but all have a base color. Identify the base color on these two baits and if they match they are similiar with various accents.

Terminator T-1 is the best on the market IMHO

tighten the brake up a little tighter than you think you'd need it until you learn to control it with your thumb.
