Spinning Reels
My Pflueger President is an amazing workhorse that delivers trouble free fishing ... if mine was stolen, I'd buy another tomorrow.

Rage structure bug does it for me today!
You're right about Kansas being much like Oklahoma. The only thing that separates Kansas from Oklahoma is barbwire fence and it's been down for years in most places . Out here on the western prairie, you either fish in the wind or you don't fish much... btw...Rage Structure Bug is well worth the high price, almost all of us has spent for more on a bait that rarely produces, something that the RSB has no problem with

Oklahoma Reports
Earlier this year I said I was going to learn how to jig fish. It has quickly become one of my favorite techniques, caught about 15 - 20 in the last 3 times out. All different types of jigs but almost always with a craw trailer (Rage Tail). I always carried jigs in the box, just never had enough confidence in them to fish them for very long, all that has changed

I second that, no issues.

bank fishing
Agree with everything you said but left out one VERY important search bait, the Carolina Rig with a tungsten weight. If used with braid, it's the most effective method that I've found to help diagnose bottom composition. A good sensitive rod also helps

Oklahoma Reports
Went to Doc Hollis this evening. Got there about 6:30 and fished until shortly after 9. Managed 2 dinks, 2 two pounders, and a couple of good ones. One was 4lb 5oz and the other was 4lb 14oz. Both the bigger ones came of a jig with craw trailer. Left phone in truck so no pics

Any Pelican Bass Raider Owners Out There?
The seam underneath the rub rail is not sealed (stapled actually) and that why the sponsons can take in water. IMO, any small mounting holes you put above the seam are pretty insignificant but some don't like to do it for some reason.

Best battery charger for money
Didn't read any comments that indicate that. My son runs a BPS 3 bank charger and has never had any problems with it. It's a battery charger, does what it's supposed to do, every time. Don't know how you would classify "best for the money".

Any Pelican Bass Raider Owners Out There?
I think he was referring to the Pelican 10e which has never had drain plug for the hull that I know of. With the design of the 10e, I imagine it would be pretty difficult.

Never seen one with a drain for the "hull". Most people use a submersible pump to vacate water while in use, if not in use, then they just dump it out.

Your 10e doesn't have drain plugs for each sponson? My particular year/model has 1 ea. located at the bow right under the seem/rub rail.

Struggling to learn to run a casting rod
A lot of people have trouble with casting gear. I taught my son to cast sidearm and to control direction with that motion. IMO, it's the best for learning. Most people try directly over the top which tends to result in a poor cast if not proficient. Also, try a medium casting rod, should load easier.

ever do something this stupid?
Heck, if I could ever get my mother in law to go for a boat ride, I can think of quite a few stupid things that may happen, on accident...

Boat Motor Hours?
Hours are not a good measure of relative health and most hour figures are not verifiable. A good marine mechanic should be able to give an opinion on the engine itself, fuel delivery system, lower end, etc. I'd rather have a unit that had XXX hrs on it but was maintained properly than one that had just 50 but was neglected. Proper and regular maintenance is the key, a neglected unit will manifest itself.

^^ This, but don't forget to recharge battery when done using it. Letting it sit with a partial charge is one sure way to quickly reduce run time.
