Any Pelican Bass Raider Owners Out There?
Amazing what a little research does... This from the MKota website...turns out breaker wasn't cutting the mustard. Although the stock wiring doesn't seem to be 6AWG, looks more like 10AWG to me but that's just a guess

Any Pelican Bass Raider Owners Out There?
I've tried to run a 55 minkota, a 52 motor guide (both not at the same time) and blew fuses at any setting beyond 3. Don't know but may have to investigate further...

Stitching big worms
Stitching is a very slow presentation identified as an effective technique for hooking Big Bass by Bill Murphy in his book "In pursuit of Giant Bass". I wouldn't want to deny him any sales opportunity by revealing his highly effective method, but I can say that stitching involves taking the line between your thumb and forefingers and the folding into your palm. See his book for the rest of the story...highly recommended read!

Dicks may aquire Sports Authority
I never go to Dick's unless I'm aware of something they have on sale. The local Academy sporting goods is ALWAYS cheaper and they offer a better selection.

Broke back bass oddity
I'm not for sure but it may be just the picture. I've taken a few pictures where the bass isn't really ready to give up and then attempts to shake loose one last time. My guess is perfect timing/angle with that attempt.

Well, I think I may have found a new boat. :)

Best Tuned/Modded Reel for a Budget
I know it sucks but at least you got back 36%. My wife gathers together a truckbed load of things that aren't used anymore, usually around $50 an item, and sells it for $5-10 a piece and is happy that she made some money to finance her next purchase...!@#$%!*&

School of Baby Bass (Fry) Video
Holy crap...I though for sure that was your trolling motor. I hear the same noise when your wife starts talking about all the eagles, loons, etc. or maybe just my imagination.

Fishing weedy lakes - strategy for 1st time on the lake
All weeds are not created equal...find out if they are bottom rooted or floating. If its floating, fish the top with a frog or similar, or punch through it and fish what's underneath it. I bottom rooted, fish something weedless that suspends, or carolina rig with some buoyant creatures

When looking at the forecast, what's your wind threshold
This is the western prairie and as I've said before, if you don't fish in the wind in Oklahoma, you don't fish much. That being said, any wind that needs to be classified on a Fujita scale, usually chases me off the lake...

Best crankbait rod for 50$
Not really looking to sell, more of a comment about my personal opinion about the rod, but I'll keep your suggestion in mind.

Best crankbait rod for 50$
I have the Cabela's Tournament ZX 7'1" crankbait model. I was throwing a spinnerbait with it and was very disappointed with sensitivity. Couldn't feel a huge colorado blade unless I burned it, while my son was slow rolling, bumping the bottom and could feel every pulse and tick with a Veracity. I fished his for little bit and couldn't believe the difference. We were both throwing the same bait and using the same line so the comparison was fair IMO. Any body want this crank rod?? Used once, now sits in the rack.

Working on Becoming a Better Angler
Never stop learning and there are no absolutes. Way too often I find anglers that have had success in the past continue to make presentations that are clearly not working at this particular time and/or location. Variety is the spice of life, that holds true even in approach to fishing. Fish the entire vertical spectrum, not so much the horizontal. Relax and enjoy the journey, life is not a tournament, it's an experience. These forums are a vast treasure of useful information and it's up to you on how to take what is being said and use it to become a better angler. My particular goal this year was to learn jig fishing and I'm happy to say the process is going well, but sometimes I just can't buy a bite. It happens, get over it, try something new/different...enjoy the journey.

My nighttime adventure

Oklahoma Reports
Tried Elmer Thomas yesterday morning but rained out. Opened up on me shortly after getting on water and then a downpour with associated lightning so I decided to get off the water. Lake is full water temp 80 degrees with 5-6' clarity (normal)
