  1. Case plastics buzzin frog. Gotta love it because it'll float a 5/0 ewg.
  2. I carry a saw, and have been known to climb a tree to get a bait back. If I'm in a boat, I'll mark it and come back.
  3. Senko and Hudd grass minnow.
  4. LOL^^^^The Nock(Nockamixon) was also known as "The Dead Sea".
  5. Why does PA have so many lakes called the "Dead Sea", is it because there are so many crappy anglers. I have two near me, and they both are stellar fishing opportunities. ; )
  6. Baker grip n weigh, period.
  7. With a dedidicated fishing platform(like your yak), you'll get use to it, but there is always the option to add "outriggers", lots of DIY videos on YouTube.
  8. I use a 70 qt. cooler (Coleman xtreme) and a livewell pump kit I picked up at Cabela's,but I don't fish tourneys and never hold five fish(because it won't) http://www.cabelas.com/product/Super-Fish-Saver-Kit/699706.uts?Ntk=AllProducts&searchPath=%2Fcatalog%2Fsearch%2F%3FN%3D%26No%3D0%26Ntk%3DAllProducts%26Ntt%3Daerator%2B%26Ntx%3Dmode%252Bmatchallpartial%26WTpageType%3Dsearch%26WTz_st%3D%26WTz_stype%3DSP%26nl%3Dtrue%26recordsPerPage%3D18%26search%3DSearch%26searchTypeByFilter%3DAllProducts%26infiniteScrollType%3Dproduct&No=0&Ntt=aerator+
  9. Not trying to be a smart a** here, but excessive algae(phytoplankton) in ponds leads to oxygen depletion and fish kill. Aquatic plants only produce oxygen during the day. At night, or cloudy days, they consume O2,so when there is an excessive amount, like that which occurs in summer when the water is warm (warm water holds less O2), and an artificially large amount of nutrients(like fertilizer run off from people's lawns), they compete with fish for that ever decreasing amout of oxygen, and usually end up winning. ; )
  10. Ooooh! Looks sweet, and the KVD edition Helix! Looks like you're one of the guys I curse when I"m riding your wake in my yak. What's the water temp? 67° Already!
  11. I just want to know why the dude is all wet?
  12. So, remember where your father's "hot spots" were on GL? ; )
  13. Whoa, shocker! Man buys boat, ends up spending way more money on it than expected! Welcome to the fabulous life of boat ownership, where the two happiest days are the day you bought it, and the day you sell it!
  14. ...it'll be a year or two, but why would I do that, the fox in the hen house, I want my name on the bogus record, and it doesn't look like you have any trouble finding the hogs? It is a great proving ground though. ; )
  15. It's completely unethical, you shouldn't fish it, totally cheating...but exactly where's it at?
  16. I've had Smallies savage 8" Hudds, so yeah, you should be fine.
  17. No boat, too bad, so close to Beltzville, and Mauch Chunk. Plenty of bass on the river though. Check your PMs.
  18. If you want to grow big bass slot limits are the way to go. I just wish CT resource officers would get in touch with PA's!
  19. Is it a public body of water? If they allow state records to come from private "ponds", that's a completely bogus record. If that were the case, I will break the PA state record. What stops a private landowner from stocking his pond with large adult bass? As a property owner I know, has done. Is TX going to allow it's State record to come directly from that guy who is growing trophy bass in his private shrimp fed lakes? I don't think so. Dog Run Lake at 22 acres is no "farm pond".
  20. In addition to those mentioned by Jiggin', a Carolina rig is my preferred alternative. Here in the North East, lots of soft bottoms, and we still fish jigs. I prefer Sandy or small rocky bottom, but you have to fish what you're dealt with.
  21. Hmmmm...I wonder if that's what someone has done when I collect those occasional bobber I come across on the lake? I always thought someone just lost their bobber. ; )
  22. No,most of the time it's "running & gunning", occasionally, on the larger water, a boat, either my canoe, kayak, or pontoon(90%), and only if it's not intrusive.
  23. -No, most properties I fish don't have locked gates, but there are a few "estates" that I fish that have gates. Most are farms, and some have livestock gates, and most have their homes relatively close to the ponds. I usually, if it's not too intrusive, stop in and say hello. -I have never not gotten a response from notes left. I leave my address, phone number, and business card. -Fishing is usually pretty good. Most have been stocked(and stocked well). One of the Estates I fish the owner very recently spent $15K on "improving" his "pond"(it's really a lake), and he doesn't even fish! Which in many of the properties I fish, is the case. Many owners don't even know if there are fish in their water. If a body of water isn't really good fishing, I don't go back, or it goes on my "occasionally" rotation. If I think I can help a pond out, I ask the owner if it's ok,(they usually say yes), whether it's culling fish, or adding fish. Other problems, I let them know about. -One thing that is most important, be respectful, clean up, treat it like you would want your property treated, and be discreet.
