Yea i am it just took a month and 4 calls to there customer service to get them to send me a packaging slip. The reel worked well but imo its just not worth the money. Gears slip wen fighting fish and there us so much play in the body of the reel you can feel it warp in your hands. With all of the great deals right now on high-quality reels it just doesn't make sense to go with a kast King. Really wanted these reels to be good because the price is right but bass resource has tought me you get what you pay for in fishing equipment. Just my honest opinion i hope others have better luck. I only have like 4 months to fish in Minnesota so being a reel down really sucks

I don't know my kastking speed demon broke after 2 months and when fighting fish it feels like it us going to fall apart. From now on im only buying quality reels with sturdy built frames and parts. No more c**p king for me

Diawa has some really good trolling products some nice line counter reels and so nice rods if you just want trolling and no versatility

No I don't think sonar Spooks Bass. I also don't think boat traffic in General on a lake Spooks Bass. I do think there's certain situations when you can spook Bass with your trolling motor. It's kind of like the debate should you try to pitch and flip with a soft Landing or a Splash Landing. I think it just has to do with the fishes mood sometimes it Spooks them sometimes they come to investigate.

Just get yourself a 7-foot medium-heavy rod and something like a Abu Black Max or silver Max Baitcaster. And if you want to fish really light tackle or weightless senkos just throw it on the spinning set up you already have. You don't want to start off with a straight heavy rod cuz it will limit you too much.

You can go either way with it having both of the tools at your disposal will put more fish in the boat. But a 7-foot 6-inch heavy fast is exactly what you want for frogging so you won't be disappointed. You really can't go wrong and I don't want to confuse you but when I was in your position what I did was I got the rods and reels I could afford to cover the techniques I wanted to fish. And then I upgraded my equipment from there knowing exactly what I needed and wanted out of higher-end equipment. I did this because the ability to pick up a rod on the Fly and fish another technique will just put fish in the boat. then when you're ready to spend more money on equipment you know exactly what you want and why you want it.

As far as for a low priced but solid baitcasting reel you should look at the Abu Garcia silver Max it can be found for 40 bucks if you look If you have access to Amazon Prime or know someone who does you can find some great deals there

I agree you are better off having two less expensive rods that do the specific jobs you need then a more expensive higher-quality Rod that doesn't do either of those very well. You could buy an expensive rod to do frogging and flipping but what you want for cranking is two different than what you're looking for in a good frogging rod.

I'm going to try to break down the answer to your question as simply as possible. Don't make any of your choices as far as what kind of line to use in what test based on the test rating of the rod just don't even think about that. Base Your Rod choices on the techniques and weight of baits that you plan on throwing with said rod. Base your line Choice as far as kind and pound test on the structure cover and techniques that you are fishing. Braid is an all-around great line it has the most strength for its diameter it saws through vegetation, it has zero stretch, it is the most limp and supple line thus making it great for baitcast and spinning applications, and it has zero memory and floats making it great for topwater applications. Fluorocarbon is a specialty line that has low stretch very low visibility in water and it sinks making it good for finesse techniques when you feel fish are line shy. It's great for deep crankbaits and trolling so you know your baits are getting to their deepest depths and it's good for some flipping applications around harder cover cuz it offers good abrasion resistance and is less visible. I also personally think it has better abrasion resistance as far as northern pike or muskie fish with sharp teeth. Monofilament is a very cost-effective line it also floats and has a lot of stretch it is good for topwater baits with treble hooks crankbaits and applications were you want some stretch so you're not just pulling the hooks out of the fish's mouth or ripping the fish's mouth open. Trim the legs of a hollow-body frog to reduce the overall profile of the bait.I trim them evenly.

I don't like floro for top water just use braid and a short mono leader to absorb shock. I like the black and yello popper

Do your self a favor and put some 50lb power pro on that black max and get comfortable with baitcasting. Your gear is good but floro takes some experience and losing line to backlash damage is expensive. You have to learn to walk before you can run.

I have the revo gen 3 and think its awesome i also own the ardent and love it as well. Im going to pick up a orra winch and cant wait to try the gen 4.

I have the 6'10" casting version of that rod and am very happy with it. Its not great an anything but its good and very durable. And for 35 bucks you cant go wrong.

Just go with possibility #1 if you like that rod just buy another.

Just troll the weed line with basically any bait. I like a spinner bait with a a 4 to 6 " boot tail swim bait trailer.

Do yourself a favor and spool of with some braid learn some not so you can tie yourself a leader if you really want to. As far as the drag you don't need to be all scientific about it just feel it out with your hand and after you catch some fish just feel it out and get it set where you like it.
