you guys should write to his sponspors and not buy their products if you feel this strongly about it.that would include shimano!!!i have written to his sponsors and espn and will not buy anything he has ties with.

right before a storm is the absolute best fishing.just use your head and pay attention.when youhear the slightest rumble at all no matter how distant you pack it in!!!i have also been out on the lake on a hot clear night when the stars were out and have had heat lightning occur!!!out of nowhere it comes down.there were no weather warnings or anything.

you could actually put up the arguement that oz for oz a sunfish is the hardest fighting fish.imagine if they grew to 5 lbs.!!!

i'll really start a debate.i don't think a smallmouth fights any harder than a largemouth up north!!!i just think they usually jump more so everybody gets so excited and thinks they fight harder.a largie will usually take you down deep if it has any size to it where smallies tend to jump more which probably causes us to come unhooked more often.i've had largies take me down after the hookset and they come up when they feel like it and not a second before.and that's if they don't tie palomar knots around the weeds and get off.i have had some battles with largemouths that equal any smallmouth.

i'm another night time baitcaster guy.i will admit that i set my brakes a little tighter than i would in the day.it's not enough to cut down on casteing distance to any real extent but just enough to help prevent nightlash. ;D

i've never caught a fish on a wacky rigged senko.i've caught hundreds of them on weightless t-rigged senkos.

i think a jig is hard to learn beause other than the fall it has no natural action.everything a jig does is induced by the angler using it.that is why 2 guys may fish the same exact jig amd one catches fish and the other doesn't.i also struggle with jigs during the summer but some of my buddies don't.my goal is to learn to fish them better next summer during the hot weather.

a fish hits a lure because of what it percieves it to be not how realistic or pretty it is.for God's sake,what is realistic about a buzzbait?the fish is either ticked off at it or see's it as injured/disstressed food.some of the most realistic lures made don't work as well as a plan boring soft plastic.the senko is a perfect example of this.but the fish sees a watermelon 5 inch t-rigged senko and percieves it as easy prey.super lifelike pretty paint schemes are meant to empty your wallet.it's all advertising hype that the bait monkey makes us fall for.

rattlin rapala's are an awesome bait!!!junbug is a go to color in plastics!!!i would have grabbed both of those deals.

3.5 is my guess.that's about an 18 inch fish.a 20 inch bass should weigh 4.5 to 5.

i never use a trailer but always use a trailer hook on spinnerbaits and buzzbaits.

one of my favorite night baits is a black buzzbait with a clacker.strike king rattlin midnight special spinnerbaits are good also.
