first of all buy sufix braid in at least 50 lb test.this will keep digging in a non existant event.it will only dig if you force your thumb on the spool and pull against a locked drag.get a wood dowel for when you get stuck and wrap the line around it and pull.most of the time you will get your lure back.secondly it's not like mono has no issues either.third tip wrap is the worst issue but you will learn to keep that to a minimum.here's the good news.you will feel things you have never felt before.you will catch fish you have never caught before because you never knew they were biting your lure.you will feel a fish inhale a crankbait and shut his mouth on it.you will feel a double willow spinnerbait blade turn every turn at even the longest casts.you will feel the fish inhale the spinnerbait and his mouth shut then you hammer him.you will feel the slightest take on a jig or a worm.backlashes are less frequent and easier to remove from braid.you can loosen up your brake settings and thus cast furthur than with mono or flouro.you can color the line any color you want with a permanent marker.you could buy hi vis yellow and color it green,black or red if you want.i am going with red next season.drag settings with treble hooks should be looser so the fish can pull drag instead of ripping hooks out.you will be able to set a hook at any distance with just a flick of your wrist due to the lack of stretch in braid.braid takes some getting used to but to me it's the best.

which leads me to this question.did you send it in for repair?if not why not?it has a 1 year warranty.if you did then how has it been since then?i work on $40000 jeeps all day.even they come back sometimes broken within a week.does that mean the product stinks?we fix them under warranty and they go back out.all manufacturers have issues.it's only fair to give them a chance to correct a problem.

i use sufix braid with berkley cross lock size 3 snaps for everything. these snaps will never fail!!!

i have to dissagree.i've fished my buddie's glx rods and they are no better than a johnny morris rod.in fact they are not as sensitive.he blew out the guides on his numerous times and had them replaced by loomis.johnny morris uses fuji titanium framed sic guides (the best guides made) which will not be hurt by braid.why a $300 dollar rod has guide issues with braid is beyond me.also i've used the light and tough rods.they are nice but i wouldn't put them above a johnny morris.i would rate them higher than a glx.another friend i know uses nothing but light and toughs with power pro and has no guide issue either.and the light and tough uses ordinary fuji aluminum oxide guides.if i was going to shell out a lot of $ on a high end rod i would consider a st.croix or a kistler.

avid,it does get much harder to see because it turns gray and as you go deeper you get less light penetration so when the line turns grey it blends in better to the surroundings.yes you are correct in that it doesn't disappear but it does become camoflaged.

i have one.the first one i got was defective.the second one is fine and i love it.bps replaced the first one with no problem.it is a great reel for the money.i really like the brake system.

powerpro was the standard by which all other braids were rated.that has changed and now sufix braid is #1.i use 65 and 50 exclusively.it is smoother and makes less noise.it doesn't dig in unless you get stupid with it.it holds it's color better than pp.that really doesn't matter to me as i color mine black on the last 6 feet anyway.

why do people think they can soak a reel and not clean and relube it?that's like not changing your car's engine oil and blaming the manufacturer when it blows up.btw,i've seen the same thing happen with diawa and shimano.try sending it back for warranty repair.maybe you'll get lucky.

they are fantastic rods that are as good as anything out there.they don't have a lifetime warranty but then again they don't cost what most lifetime warranty rods cost.they have by far the best reel seat made.they also use the best guides made= fuji titanium framed sic guides.i love my johhny morris rods.

I prefer it that way.a spinning rod has the handle under the reel and it spins in a bigger ark.a baitcaster sits on top of the rod and has a smaller ark.i've tried reeling a left handed baitcaster and it feels retarded.switching hands when casting is no big deal.

what do you exspect from a company that signs with chavez?i will not rejoin bass unttil they get rid of citgo and get their act together.

i can tell you the clunn will cast weightless trick worms with 65 lb sufix braid.

i have a rick clunn reel.i love it.the clunn combo has better guides on it than the extreme rod.if you are using braid you might want to consider this.

do yourself a favor and bring the spiderwire back.replace it with sufix or powerpro.if you don't do that you will get a false impression of what braid is like.

you either have counterfeit powerpro or you are using the wrong knot.a palomar knot with a dab of crazy glue will NEVER fail.

i've seen it go both ways in clear and stained water.it has nothing to do with the line.it has to do with who had the better presentation and who put the lure in front of the fish that would bite.

i would be suspect of any guide that braid damages.braid does not damage titanium nitrided guides, fuji alconite guides or fuji sic guides. i need no convincing.i just bought some more sufix braid the other night.

I had the same problem after about a year of use. It's at the bottom of a lake now (accident) and that will be the last Pfleuger I will ever buy. why didn't you guys just send them in for warranty repair?
