there is no way somebody could make 10000 casts with a spinnerbait and not get a fish.my mind refuses to accept that.if it is true just give up on them and use some other techniques.obviously spinnerbaiting isn't your thing.it didn't take me 10000 casts to dump my helicoptor lures!!!good luck dude.

i know guys who power drop shot and it works.they do it with 50 lb.power pro and 7 inch worms with big ewg flippin hooks.you can use a ready rigged carolina clacker 3/4 oz for the bottom weight.i did it once and caught a nice bass on it when nothing else was working.i plan to try it more this year.some guys tie a heavy jig on the bottom for a weight.

if you do not allow people to keep fish you will begin to give peta credibility.when you start making restrictions like that you give their arguements credibility.fisheries managers work hard to decide what limits are put into effect on our waters.how can we say it's ok to eat panfish but not a bass.it makes no sense.we have to trust and work with our fisheries managers to have the best rules possible.there will always be some harvest of bass.if it is done legally then we have no right to complain.if you think the limits are wrong then work with your fisheries managers to figure out what would be better.as long as a fisherman is complying with the regulations of the water he is fishing on we should not complain. a bass is not and will never be a sacred object.it is a resource and should be managed in a sensible way without our personal emotions clouding the facts.i myself release %99 of my fish.if i get a gut hooked fish that's bleeding and floating that fish is going in the barbecue.

well,here goes nothing.i live in ny and the record here is 11 lbs. 4 oz. i predict i will break it. ;Di really think it's possible becuase some of the lakes i fish hold some really big bass for ny state.my pb is 7-12 so far.

a softer tip loads better and cast further than a pool cue.

i use smelly jelly bassfeast paste.megastrike is also good.both stay on longer than most others.scent does not attract fish.it just makes them hold on longer giving you more time to set the hook.it can also mask scents that would cause a bass to spit your bait out.

it depends.i caught my biggest fish ever on a full moon night.it was the only fish i caught that night so it was a good night even though it was a one fish night.

black is usually the best.sometimes white spinnerbaits also work good on moonlit nights.generall big noisey lures.my favorite is a black buzzbait with a clacker.

first of all 3.5 hours is nothing.pros can go all day with no bites and then catch 5 in 20 minutes.you just may be going at the worst time.if you went 5 times for 8 hours each and got skunked every time i would think you have a problem.try fishing longer and try fishing smaller waters.progress up to larger waters gradually.

i've seen that happen a million times.i've caught fish on buzzbaits in 40 degree water and had guys use finesse when i powerfished and kicked their butts.and then times when you think you should power fish you need finesse.

It happens to everybody.if it's on treble hooked lures loosen your drag as the fish comes in.if it's on single hook lures a net will help.

it's entirely possible for a longer fish to be lighter than a shorter one.there are to many variables.what time of year were they caught?did any of them have eggs?if you catch one that was just feeding it could be heavier.maybe perry's scale was wrong and his fish was actually heavier?

i pitch lighter jigs with a 6-6 mh all star im10 x rod (3/8 and under).i pitch heavier jigs (1/2 and up) with a 6-10 all star big boys im10x pitching stick.

it doesn't matter if the record is legit.it's the record and has stood up to arguements for 70 years.let's break it and then we will know for sure.i'm all for genetically altered bass and truout feed bass.like guys said you still have to find them and catch them.

if you want to pitch furthur you need to loosen up your brakes to almost free spool.this will require tons of practice.the funny thing is the more distance you try to get the more backlash you will get.pitching is a very soft smooth underhand cast.and let's face it,a 1/2 oz jig is going better than a 1/4 oz jig no matter how good you are.

e.w.,i think most people won't change from tourney style fishing.big bass fishing takes a mindset where you don't get discouraged because you're not catching one after another.like you said it's totally different.bites are fewer and furthur between.most fishermen can't accept that.

when the fish bites and the mouth is shut you set the hook.this pulls the bullet weight out of it's mouth but it's mouth is still closed.with an ewg hook the hook is way bigger than the opening the bullet sinker passed through.it hits the fishes mouth and the bait slides back and the hook point pops out and into the mouth of the fish.as you pull it drives into the mouth for a good hookset.
