That happens with all my Mattlures. The cases they come in disform the bait over time, becuase one side is molded to the lures shape and one side is flat. To fix it, hold the bait by the hook and submurge it up its gills and the bottom of the hook in slightly boiling water intill its soft. Then take it out and hang it from the hook's eye on somthing so that it will cool in the right position. (the tail and lower body going out perfectly streight) I left mine hanging over night and it ran perfect the next day.

No no no, you guys got it all wrong. Why would BPS want to harm the fisheries and thus harming themselves? The truth is PETA has infiltrated BPS and has dozens of henchmen working in several departments, including the department that designes the graphics on the website and catalog! PETA was behind the Kicktail lure and hundreds of other scams so that fishermen would spend their money on lures what wouldnt catch bass! Infact, Roland Martin was hired by PETA to advertise the Rocket Rod! AND they where behind the deaths of JFK and MLK!

It probaly wont work, but its worth a try. Maybe it wont bring gas prices to 1.50, but maybe it will keep it a couple dozen cents cheaper.

I bank fish, so Its more like "bailing in" lol To answer the question, yes I have. If I hooked into a really big one I would be in the drink ASAP.

Nice fish! Buzzbaits are a blast to use. Why kind where you using? My faverite is Booyah 1/4oz black w/ clacker. (clacker is a must have) Also check into buzzbaits with 3 bladed proppelers.

1/4 oz jig in craw. Will catch alot of nice bass, and is very versitile.

My first baby bass came today. BTW For anyone who doesn't get these baits becuase they dont have a swimbait rod, get one! I can cast mine without hardly any trouble on a 7ft medium. Anything in med/heavy will work just fine!

That may be a practical way for you while being a student but when you go to college and get a job things will be different. I live in an area where public transportation is not an option and I have a shorter commute than most. I couldnt fathom trying to ride a bike in through a New England winter. Well my dad has two jobs and he always walks/bikes, my older sister has three jobs and always bikes, my other older sister and my brother go to college and work and always ride bikes. We bike to the store, I bike to where ever I go, and so does my younger sister. We live a area with no public transport and pretty cold winters too. When there is a will there is a way. IMHO blaming gas prices on the goverement and pumping gas every few days is like complaining about new laws when you dont vote.

lmao, the internet sure is serious business. When your on a forum with alot of friends, and someone starts dissing you for somthing you didn't do, then yes you are correct. edbassmaster: lol glad somone found humor. I wasnt using a leader. I tied it directly to the eye with a double loop Uni knot. Besides it didn't break at the knot, it broke about half way. I checked my line the night before and It was fine, so I'm not sure what caused it to fail.... :-/

How is telling fellow bass fishermen how my trip went in detail being a "drama queen"? I'm not saying it wasn't my fault its missing, infact I could have easily kept it from happening. But it did happen. And I posted it here for the same reason you posted about your really good trip. To get donated equipment out of pity. Fixed it for ya. Just for in information, I have been offered free stuff here recently and refused. I'm not here for stuff. Besides, if your only rod broke and you couldn't afford a new one, and someone wanted to help you and send you one, wouldn't you acept? Thats what I did last summer, and I dont see why everyone thinks I'm a sucker.

I was using 30lb powerpro. I have no idea why it snapped. I left the rod against the tree beucase thats the only place I could put it. (i was fishing off a log) We all left out fishing stuff there and went down the bank a ways, and when we came back I forgot my rod becuase It was down by the log and not on the trail. And my chances of catching a 12lb 0oz bass in NJ are higher if I'm fishing swimbaits. And to add one more thing to the list, I was running up the stairs two seconds ago and I slipped and the railing fell of when I grabbed it and smash into my knee. :

Yesterday everthing went wrong. In the course of 7 hours I cought 8 dinks. And I left the pond $260 of tackle lighter. I lost almost all the line I have left and my new line isn't coming intill saterday, and I lost 10 hooks and now I'm down to 3, and I dropped my last Owner hooks into the drink off of a log. Now if that wasn't bad enough, I was fishing my swimbait combo, when all the sudden my line jerks during a cast and my one and only bluegill goes sailing into the wild blue yonder. If all that wasn't bad enough, I find out that my line jerked back becuase my reel had something busted inside the brakes! (it wasnt becuase of backlash) So I start to take my reel apart out on the log, but then I remember that sean was doing just that when he lost his drag cap for his shimano. So I go up to the bank and lean my rod up against a tree, figuring that I would deal with it later. Well after a while, we moved to a different spot. I forgot my rod, and when I rembered I just figured I would get it on the way back. Well on the way back, I forgot again. By the time I rememberd, it was dark and I was already late for getting home. I went and looked for it but couldn't find it. This mourning I went and looked for it, AND IT WASNT THERE! Now if that isnt "craptastic" I dont know what is. I spent my hard earned, back broken, sweat and blood $200 for that combo. :'( Any slim chance I had of catching the state record this year are shot. Infact, what makes things even worse, is that I hadn't even cought a fish on it yet. There was two other fisherman at the pond and I'm usuming they took it. If I ever see them again they better hand it over quick if they know whats heathly. That rod was my pride and my joy. I dont mean to rant, but this week has been one "of those weeks". My mom is in the hospital, my dad closed the trunk on my brand new MP3 player, now this.

I'm doing my part. In the past 4 weeks I have only gone somwhere in a car 7 times. (4 of those visiting my mom in the hospital) In March I went 4 weeks without going anywhere in a car. (I didnt even get into a car) I biked to church one week, the next week my dad was gone with the car, the next week I was sick, and the next week we drove. I'm homeschooled, my friends all live within 2.5 miles, all my fishing spots are within 6 miles, so basicly the only places I go in a car is church. (becuase its 12 miles and early in the mourning we usualy drive) My family is pretty nutty about bikes. My oldest sister and my dad biked acrossed the country last summer and this summer my dad and my other 2 sisters are going all over canada. I like working on and building bikes, right now I have 3, two that I built. Last year my dad biked over 10,000 miles. Why drive a car? It sucks up 1/4 of your income. Biking is cheap, good for you, and fun. If you invest all the money the you spend on cars over 30 years, you would have a million bucks. (not joking) Infact, we use the car so little these days, we are going to get rid of it. With the money from the sale, my dad is going to buy me a really nice race bike. I have rod holders (made from PVC) mounted on one of my bikes, along with a back rack. I use a backpack, and I can carry all the stuff I need for fishing (and then some) with no problem. Soft plastics' box goes on the rack, spinning rod in the holder, hardbaits/reels/camera/water/other in the backpack, swimbait rod in my left hand, and I'm good to go! I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I get 22 miles per peanutbutter and jelly sandwich! If you dont want to spend alot of money on gas, then dont do it! If you want to fight back on high gas prices, then get a bike and do somthing about it. Tight lines and No Flats Matt
