  1. Sweet that's the model im looking at, how's it with squarebills and dt-10s? That's my two main cbs
  2. There's no where around that sales loomis or st criox cranking rods above the mojo series. I may go with the loomis because they have more options if I decide to get a additional rod in a bigger size. I strongly prefer cork grips or I would go with the legend tourney series
  3. Ok checked the gear ratio in the lower unit by putting it in gear and spinning the prop by hand, and I got roughly 1 8/10 of a turn on the flywheel for one complete turn of the prop.
  4. I think it's the latter of the two, the lower unit is brand new before we got the boat and we are thinking it is the problem now.
  5. Sorry didn't give you a good update, I forgot I didn't mention earlier that it will run fine when you get the 3 blade prop to plane out but it will spin out with the 4 blade prop when it planes. I feel like it isn't the prop since it does simalr with both of them trying to plane out. It takes forever to plan out, literally over a minute. I feel like there is something else I'm missing besides the jackplate/prop
  6. I own quite a few of both in that range, but I feel like crankbait rods are a whole different animal. I've never had nothing but cheap cranking rods
  7. LDC is the rod maker you're looking for, they make the perfect rod for those. Just got ahold of them and they will hook you up
  8. I was looking at the poor boy gloomis crankbait series, I'd like to have a glx but no?. I mainly am looking for a mod-fast graphite rod like these two are described. Never really liked the noodly Fiberglas feel
  9. Looking at the 7' medium heavy models for squarebills and lipless, anyone used either? Haven't found many reviews on the avid cranking series but I love my regular avids.
  10. I don't like the idea of limiting myself to one brand, instead I went to all cork handles on all my rods. So they all have pretty much the same feel when I pick them up. One rod company doesn't make eve single rod I like, so I broaden my horizon
  11. Reopening this, still having the same problems. Went with two different props now, both with new hubs. Boat still won't plane out for nothing, still spins out on the 4 blade prop. Have tried a million different jackplate heights as well. Anyone have any other ideas?
  12. I use the kvd mustad scissors/split ring plier combos. Been working good for over a year now
  13. I've always used trilene xl or xt, it's never let me down.
  14. I vote a loomis 6'6"m-m cranking rod with a curado 70?
  15. Did Shimano make another higher speed Calcutta than the 200gtb? thanks
  16. I have a avid x 7' medium with a 3000 size Ci4 reel on it I love, I feel it is a amazing rod for the money, i do prefer it over the Shimano loomis imx's by far. If you have a field and stream near by you can go feel the st criox and loomis rods to compare.
  17. Zara spooks are my favorite in calm clear water because of no rattles, I add split rings and triple grip hooks to help hold the fish. In rough water I go to the gunfish, r2s rover, showerblow, or a super spook
  18. I have a glx, imx, orochi xx, and some avids. I prefer the orochi xx over all the rods, with the glx in second, I strongly prefer the avid over the imx. I bought the emtf for t-rigs and smaller jigs and I love it, it's my favorite rod out of all of them
  19. I live about halfway Inbetween Franklin and Asheville, and those guys sound like the typical drivers around here
  20. Fishing there can be very hard, look for rocky spots and points this time of year. The tournaments are being won on 6xd's and 5-7" swimbaits right now on that lake. If you find the right spots you will load up on fish quickly
  21. So absolutely no one likes the bps 5/5/5 charger? Is it junk?
