  1. I never throw either much in clear water so it's 17-20 xl or super sniper for me depending on what Rod I throw it on
  2. I like regular avid rods in casting over the avid x rods, as far as they compare to g. Loomis I think they are on par with the imx's (maybe even a little better)
  3. My curados sometimes make a whiny sound when they need a drop of oil on the spool brake, but they never backlash from that
  4. Jigs are my late summer to early fall bait, this Wednesday they was all over it
  5. 3/8oz arkie jig with a z-craw trailer
  6. I broke about 8" out of my m1 casting a rat yesterday, and I went on to there site to see about warranty and saw there was a registry which I didn't do smh. I bought the Rod from tw on 9/8/15 so I have proof of purchase. Has anyone ever delt with them warranty wise?
  7. How about the Shimano stile? That is what the reel is designed to be
  8. I think a st criox avid is way better than any Rod under a imx by far, and j liked my avid's more than my imx's
  9. avid is what I like for baitcasters, the guides on the avid x look wierd to me so I could never make myself buy one, I do like my avid x spinning reel though
  10. I would go with a level wind, I think you would grow to not like the non level wind for what you are wanting
  11. A good Rod and fluorocarbon line will do wonders
  12. Here's my lil rig I built, r700 varmint .308, timney trigger, B&C medalist aluminum bedding block stock, nightforce rail. Still haven't spent the money on a super good scope yet but it shoots 5/8" moa all day if I can hold it
  13. 3/16 lead head with a green pumpkin zoom fat Albert is 100% my favorite bait for your condition. You can hop it on the bottom of smooth surfaces, or swim it threw the swift waters to catch plenty.
  14. This is interesting, amazing the amount of stuff that had been lost fishing
  15. Awesome thanks a lot, I read a lot of controversy in the bigger sport fish world about boga grips. But I strongly dislike cheaper digital scales and I figured if I was gonna spend money on a set I might as well get what I wanted. Hopefully the scale will do me many years.
  16. Make sure you use there Labor Day 15% off coupon when you order from them!
  17. I have long looked at buying a scale instead of measuring and guesstimating, I finally broke down and bought a boga #15 pound scale grip. I have long read about the negative effects of suspending fish by the grip and also by hooking in the gills. So how accurate could I be by putting a fish I wanted to weigh in a weigh in bag and weighing it with the grip that way? I planned on trying it by hooking a smaller in the lip and then putting him in the bag to check the difference, but I was wondering what you guys think would be the safest way to use the weighing system?
  18. The only thing you should upgrade is that suffix elite, that stuff has always been like winding a slinky on a spinning reel for me, cheap route trilene xl more expensive route would be maxima ultragreen for a better spinning mono.
  19. PP super slick sunline super sniper maxima ultragreen 10# super slick on a spinning reel will throw mega bombs, it's amazing how good it casts(never used 832 but I'm sure it's the same way)
  20. I'm completely not a fan of the ardent reel care products, they just never done it for me. I use boca oil and Shimano drag Greese as my two forms of lubrication on everything. Also another good thing to research is bearing flush, cleanings the bearings is the most important part of maintaining them.
  21. Wrb stated how I started, it's easier to start of throwing something a little heavier on like a medium to medium heavy Rod. I learn how to with 1/2oz jigs, start with your reel tight and easily back it off and practice feeling the line peel with your thumb.
  22. What 10" worm are you fishing? Ribbon tail or straight? I do well with big ribbon tails on 1/2oz magnum spot removers
  23. In my experiences when the going gets tough, the 110 outfishes all other jerkbaits I've ever owned. It has turned many dreadfull days, into amazing days for me. Like others say with light line and good clear water I think it is the best you can tie on, especially a old straight eye 110. 8# Invizix is the line for me
  24. It will be perfect for them, longer rods are deffinetly not a necessity.
  25. Well somewhat of a update, I bought some of the thugs requested at the store yesterday and actually caught quite a few fish on them this morning. I have never caught summer jerkbait fish and I caught close to a dozen this morning on a pointer 78, also caught quite a few on a u tale worm Texas rigged with a 1/16 oz weight.
