  1. For the price I like the Sahara. If you trying to decide on which size, I would get the rod you want and put both reels on the rod and see which one balances better. Both will catch fish.
  2. I have seen some weird stuff on fish but this takes the cake....... http://www.aol.com/video/fish-caught-in-pennsylvania-tests-positive-for-cancer/518809198/
  3. The Taclite Pro's.
  4. Ok after looking at your post the ATAK is awesome. I would love to see one of these in person.
  5. So the line in is invisible and maybe because FC sinks and braid floats. For me, I use a leader occasionally but otherwise when I use braid for it's intended purpose, I use straight braid, no leader.
  6. Colts fan here.... With that said, not a fan of the Patriots but the outcome of the game in question should not be brought up in the discussion of deflate-gate. The Patriots were the superior team that day. Colts fans and the Indy media are not crying over the loss. What I think upsets people the most is that if they did cheat (knowingly), they didn't have to. It's just a matter of integrity. When Dungy was here, Colts fans held the team in such high regard, both morally and ethically, that we expect that out of other teams, especially our biggest rivalry, the Patriots. It will be good to hear the results of the investigation, no matter the outcome, and move on. I, for one, am ready for it to be over with.
  7. I tried P-Line CXX a few years ago and really liked it. It did get stiff over time but overall I was really pleased.
  8. St. Croix Avid 7 M X-Fast
  9. G Loomis MBR 783 GLX and a Shimano Core 101MG G Loomis BCR 803 GLX and a Shimano Chronarch 51e
  10. I have tried it for cranks and I am not a fan. I like braid for other techniques. For cranks I like mono or even fluorocarbon.
  11. I had but sold a Shimano Calais 201a. This reel was amazing but super heavy. Smooth beyond comparison, casted a mile, backlashes were rare and was built like a tank. I miss it dearly. With all that said, backlashes are mainly operator error but a few reels that have ineffective braking systems can cause major headaches. The price of the reel does not always reflect that.
  12. The Colts pick left me scratching my head. A great player but do we really need another wide receiver. The defense line and O line are still weak. We will see what happens.
  13. I use spray on Bull Frog with 50spf when the bugs are out or Banana Boat Water Sport formula , no scent, no grease. As far as pants go I like the Bishop Pants from North Face (discontinued) and 5.11 Tactical Pants (great pocket set up). I also like Kuhl's Liberator pant. These are not for the faint of heart. They cost $95 (got mine for less than half that, long story) but they are the best outdoor gear pants I have ever used. They are warm when I get cold and breath when I am hot. They are also great in rain. They dry out quick. I forgot they are convertible pants as well. If you want to check them out.....http://www.kuhl.com/kuhl/mens/pants/liberator-convertible/
  14. Sorry you feel that way. I was out on the water Sunday from 6am till 8pm in my inflatable pontoon boat. With this water craft I can only take one set up. I took a Shimano Core on a G. Loomis 783 GLX. This set up has had 12lb Invisx on it since last August and I fish it about 2 times a week. So I used this old Invisx for about 12-13 hours over stumps, rocks and open water. I used the same hook and never retied. I caught about 20 large mouth (nothing bigger than 2-3lbs though, mostly small ones) and about 10 crappie. Will I need to change it,? Sure>someday. I have been fishing for over 30 years. I never took line or gear seriously until about 10 years ago. I basically stuck with trilene for a long time. I don't think Seaguar lines are the miracle, best, supper dupery, line of all time. There a lot of great lines out there. Seaguar has been pretty consistent for me. I also like Trilene 100% FC and Yo Zuri Hybrid.
  15. Amazing... Pretty soon our boats will drive us to the fish and say fish here (with pics uploaded to Facebook, Instagram and Twitter in real time).
  16. To me, It is sort of like leather. Higher quality last longer (supposedly) and feels better. Also, as others have stated, it pits less. Maybe DVC can chime in and give a good (more scientific) explanation?
  17. Seaguar Abrazx 12lb. With zebra muscles though, it's hard to say. A co-poly might be better, like P-Line CXX.
  18. No thanks. There was a bad round of it a few years ago. I had a bad spool of it and exchanged it at Gander Mountain (where I purchased it). Ever since, I have never had an issue. From what I heard, they had a problem with their "Level Wind Technology". I can't confirm that though but it made sense to me. The bad line I had just seemed to tangle up in twists. No line conditioner would fix it. What issues are you having? How do you put it on? And what reel are you using? Probably don't want to hijack a thread on Tatsu but I thought I would ask......
  19. Jigs and worms> 12lb Invisx or 10lb Yo Zuri Hybrid.
  20. I have been using 10lb since the beginning of the year and I love it. It is the best line I have ever used. Is it worth the cost?> No. I will probably stay with Invizx. If I can find it on sale again at Tackle Warehouse, I will definitely buy it again. As far as a review> great knot strength, casts like a dream, and it is super sensitive.
  21. Any of the fenwick elite tech rods would do or even the hmg. I have seen the fenwick aetos on sale for around $100. Another to check out is Gander Mountains Elite Series http://www.gandermountain.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?pdesc=Gander-Mountain-Elite-Series-Spinning-Rod-66-Medium&i=726500. Nice rod
  22. Not poking fun at this rod manufacture but I don't know of anyone that owns one. I fish, I would guess, an average amount and just never hear of anyone even mentioning them.
  23. I like 12lb or 15lb Yo Zuri Hybrid.
  24. I am beginning to wonder if they are not selling that well or if the they just made too many. In any case, it is hard to find another reel to compare it to at that price.
