G Loomis GLX BCR803
I have a BCR803 and it is my favorite rod. It is by far the most sensitive GLX rod I own. I use a either a Shimano Calcutta 251 or a Daiwa Zillion on this rod. It is great for weightless Senkos and Ikas. As others have stated the Recoil Guides are not the best for braid but work fine if you don't mind the sound it makes. When it comes to jigs this rod is also outstanding. You can use some light weight jigs with a trailer and the feel of it bouncing off the bottom is amazing. I never thought I could tell the difference between rocks, twigs, stumps, etc. When it comes to hook sets, the extra fast tip makes it a no brainer. I caught a 5lb largemouth last weekend that I would not have felt it bite if it had not been for this rod. I have gotten to the point were I don't usually watch my line, I just let the rod tell me what's happening. I would not hesitate buying this rod again and I would highly recommend it.

Man that's funny. I hope it fishes well. If not, enjoy it with a salad.

Steven Segal has fallen a long long way...
I have followed this guy for years. He is one of those who followed a path of self discovery and enlightenment through martial arts and then become self obsorbed in money and popularity. He was at one time the real deal. The fall from his faith has become his undoing. I hope he gets out of the buffet line and gets back to Temple and the gym.

Can I get a BOOOOOYAH!
Great selection of rods. I too have the SMR752S-SP. It is a fun rod to fish. I find it works best on deep soft plastic and deep cranks. It has one of the most powerful hooksets of any spinning rod I have ever used. Let us know what you think of it. As far as I know, you are the only other person I have heard of that owns this rod.

NFL Throwback jersey's
I don't care either way. I'm an Indy Colt fan so the Throwbacks kind of look like what they wear every game anyway. The Eagles have to have the worst though.

Mobster movies.
My favorites are Goodfellas, Resevoir Dogs, Mean Streets, Millers Crossing. And my all time favorite The Usual Suspects. I can still here the guy in the hospital say "Keyser Söze".

The Last Ride---
Another canidate for the Darwin Awards..... What a waste.... Here is my story on a bike crash. An 18 year old kid lost control of his motorcylcle in a school zone two blocks away from my house. He was going about 90mph at 3:00 in the after noon. He clipped a car and was tossed into a street sign. He was decappitated. The body and head were left for hours untouched until they could investigate the crash and by then all the kids in the neighboorhood had passed it on the way home from school. My son said it best after witnessing the crash (he was quoting Spider-Man), "With great power comes great responsibility."

Looking for rod.
I would go back to Dick's sometime next week and ask the salesguy to scan it. When I bought mine it was marked regular price but it rang up $74.97. I think they were $99.97 then they had all clearence tackle an additional 25%. The clearence sale ended this Sunday but I'm sure they'll do it again.

Texas vs. Carolina????
T-rigged has been my favorite for years. It has produced more fish for me than any other method.

Finally got to try out my new Avid
I just purchased the same rod and like RW said keeping the rod up will. With the extra fast tip it seems like you don't have to set the hook as hard. I give this rod a quick short pull and the hook is set. I have not had any issues yet with setting the hook with this rod but it did take some getting use to. This rod does load differently than most.

Anyone still use spincast?
I have got a Daiwa, a Zebco Bullet, and a couple of kids setups for my little ones. I use them anytime I want to take the kids out to catch bluegill and such. I bought the Daiwa for my wife last year and this the first good spincast I have bought in years and sure have come long way.

What's Working For You Right Now?
I have been killing them on the Fat Ika in Green Pumpkin black flake. I hooked a nice 5lb Largemouth and 4 other smaller ones in about an hour on the same Ika. I have been trying other lures and baits but the Ika is my go to bait for now.

Quantum PT Energy casting reels...
I have two of the Energy Pti-a 20 spinning reels and they have been fantastic. I did have a Energy Pti Tournament Edition baitcaster but I ended up taking it back. The drag washer cracked after about a month or two of use. It was a great reel but when I took it back the sales guy talked me into Shimano Calais. He gave me a great deal on it and I am glad he bent my arm a little. It is the smoothest reel I have ever fished, simply amazing.

Baitcasting or Spinning for an All-around rod?
Baitcasting (G. Loomis MBR 844 IMX). IMHO, it has the best balance of sensitvity, power, and versatility.

St. Croix vs. Loomis
I have 3 St. Croix Avid spinning rods and love each one of them but I also own 2 Loomis GLX rods and and an IMX. Between the two companies and the rods I own, Loomis is my favorite. Is it worth the difference in price? Yes........ but the Avid rod is a great value and it is equally as well made as the IMX. The difference is in the sensitivity, balance and maybe a little more hook setting power (this all subjective and just personal opinion). As far as the warranty goes with Loomis, I looked into shipping a rod and it would have cost me around $25 for a tube, shipping and insurance going UPS Ground. So if you look at this way, Loomis sends you a new rod and you ship the old one back with a payed shipping label. The cost to Loomis is around $50 or more in shipping going both ways. Not a bad deal, buy a Loomis and it's for life, provided you have $50 for each time you break one .

Sam Adams Octoberfest
In the bottle this stuff is OK but off the tap it is fantastic. By far one of favorite beers to drink when I'm eating a big o steak. I also like their summer ale and winter lager. For a dark beer you have to try their Black Lager.

DA BEARS
I have never understood why they keep this guy but oh well....... Go Colts.........

What are some good types of fake worms?
My personal favorites are a 5in Senko or Yum Dinger in just about any dark color.
-
"finesse worms"
I set mine up with a jig head that has a bent hook, like a TruTungsten Weed Wacker. I use either Zoom Finesse worms or Roboworms (new for me this year).
-
Easy Techniques/lures
I have to go with a Mepps Inline spinnerbait in any of the Black Fury colors. I had to pick a second I would go with a 5in Senko with a 4/0 EWG hook.

Favorite Suspending Jerk Bait?
Lucky Craft Pointer in American Shad or Shell White.

My Legend Tournaments arrived...
Cool rods I have been waiting for my local Gander Mountain to put them on sale. They are loaded with St. Croix rods, especially the Avids but they do have a full line of the Legend Tournaments. Dicks is now sold out of the clearance rods by me so hopefully they will be on sale soon.

I have been using Trilene Fluorocarbon all summer with a clinch knot and have not had any issues.
