  1. I don't wanna buy a morethan at the price, especially since I would need to do a spool swap.
  2. Since they are glass rods they are good for reaction techniques. IMO they are horribly tip heavy.
  3. This makes me want to just swap the gears in a Met, which was my original thinking. Bombing the frog makes the fishing way more fun. The Met Dc outcasted them all by about 25 feet with a half ounce lipless.
  4. Did you just start snapping them in half or something lol? Seems like such a shame, especially since the rods have been very well received.
  5. How does the casting performance of the Bantum compare to that of the Chronarch?
  6. It seems like the Bantum is the clear choice.
  7. I’m not a fan of the refinement offered by abu reels. It’s not better then an SLX even at the higher end.
  8. Such a tough decision. Part of me wants the Met DC for the casting distance. Most people seem to be leaning Bantum though. The Bantum does have brass gears and a smaller profile, and at a lower price.
  9. Why do you prefer it to the steez? I too have the ChMGL XG and I prefer metal reels.
  10. Rod will be expride or adrena 72H, so should be well balanced. Other option is levante Perfect pitch.
  11. I am putting together a nice frog combo, and am down to these reels. The Met would get a gear swap. Thoughts? I know guys have had trouble with the Met gears, especially for heavy duty techniques, but the gear swap should fix those issues. How do the size of these reels compare? I know the Bantum is really small but I have concerns about the weight. The steez A is intriguing to me, but I don’t really see why an aluminum reel has to be 500 bucks at retail, and the knobs on the reel suck. Thoughts?
  12. Are you thinking of getting the same combo? I am looking for a more powerful frog rod, and am down to the Expride 72H, Adrena 72H, and Levante PP. The reel will either be a metanium XG with a brass gear swap or JDM steez Xh, or a Bantum MGL XG. I would probably swap the knobs on the steez though.
  13. The levante would look sick with a JDM steez A xh. The purple accents would look sweet together.
  14. Does anyone have the rods? I am eyeing the 72H for frogging.
  15. I wish I had bought an FK when American legacy had them for $130
  16. Why not consider a Metanium or Chronarch MGL? IMO high end is not lews domain, the pro ti feels the same as the pro G in hand, honestly, though I have never cast either.
  17. This hobby sucks that way sometimes, even just buying tackle (let alone rods and reels) gets expensive.
  18. 13 Inception, great caster at only $120 retail. The Ergonomics are fantastic as well.
  19. I use a plano elite spinnerbait box.
  20. Dobyns sierra 692 has worked well for me.
  21. I don’t think they are going to put the Mgl spool in a 70 for $80 less then the chronarch, but that would be sweet. I am hoping for a new Met with brass gears.
  22. I would think that these are the next shimano reels to be redone, as they have gone 3-3.5 years without an update. What do you guys think?
  23. I would go with an Expride. Much better balance then a H3 IMO, and more sensitive in my hands.
  24. Maybe a stradic FK/FL paired with a zodias or expride. If you shop around you can get a good deal on the expride, and the combo would only be slightly above your budget.
