A question for bait and tackle junkies
This has to be somebody's wife trolling the BR boards . I know I have a problem...my name is Justin, I'm a Tackle Junky...lol. Seriously, like A-Jay says...it's fun, it provides enjoyment for me. My wife loves buying clothes, watches, SHOES, jewelry...my son loves toys even though he already has a bazillion of them...bass tackle are my toys, they are my watches/shoes/jewelry...they provide me enjoyment like those other things provide enjoyment for my wife and son. There are certainly much worse addictions I could have (drugs, alcohol, gambling etc.) .

I have mine shipped to my work and I stow them away in the car and wait until the wife goes to sleep and bring them in and put them in one of my tackle boxes .

You and me both! I ended up placing 2 orders too but I was able to keep it right around $110 so I consider that a success .

I personally have the SLX in a 7.2:1 paired with that exact same rod and it just looks phenomenal. Haven't fished it yet as it's going to be my jerk bait setup this year but aesthetically the rod and reel were made for each other IMO.- 6th Sense Flat 75X vs. Spro Little John MD
Okay, with Fall fast approaching (at least for those of us in the Northern tier of States) the water will begin to cool and that means flat side crankbait season! I bought some of the 6th Sense Flat 75x late last season after our fishing season had ended and am just wondering which of these flat sided cranks are better? Are both warranted (I know the Spro dives a few feet deeper)? Just wondering if the Spro is a needed weapon in the Fall arsenal or if the Flat 75x will take care of my crankbait needs.- Best scale for the $$
That's partly why I like that Piscifun scale, very easy to read with the large blue backlit display.- Setting Up Daiwa Tatula TW SV
I am too! I tried forcing myself this year to cast AND reel right handed but while i could do it adequately it just didn't feel natural to me. Using a left handed reel was just much more comfortable and natural feeling as that's the way I've always fished with spinning reels. I ended up trading in the right handed casting reels I had bought for left handed models and am MUCH happier!- Setting Up Daiwa Tatula TW SV
I would say I'm in between a beginner and a novice with a casting reel. I am gaining more and more thumb control as I fish but still keep my brakes set fairly high (in the 10 - 12 range usually) and occasionally use my tension knob to adjust until a slow rate of fall from the lure. As I gain more experience I'm relying on the tension control knob less and my thumb more but I'm not at the point where i can totally rely on my thumb but...I'm gaining .- Setting Up Daiwa Tatula TW SV
So you just adjust the tension control knob until there's a slight amount of play in the spool and leave it? Then you just adjust your brakes to the weight of the lure you're throwing? I know on my Shimano's you adjust the tension control for each lure until you get that slow drop with backlashing.- Setting Up Daiwa Tatula TW SV
Is setting up a Daiwa Tatula TW SV just like setting up a regular Tatula or does the SV spool require certain adjustments that other non-sv spools do not?- Lunkerhunt Phantom Spider
Is it just me or do other people get the urge to smash this lure with a big rock? . I HATE spiders...especially big arse ones...gives me the creeps just looking at the dang thing, would scare me half to death every time I opened my tackle box...lol.- Best scale for the $$
This is the one that I want to get!!! https://www.amazon.com/Piscifun-Gripper-Waterproof-Electronic-Stainless/dp/B07F753ZYY/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=piscifun+gripper&qid=1566405297&s=gateway&sr=8-2- What are Some Good Floating Mojo Rig Plastic's?
What about some more common baits from Yum, Zoom, Berkely, Reaction Innovations, Z-Man etc.?- What are Some Good Floating Mojo Rig Plastic's?
Like the title says, what are some good floating plastic baits for the Mojo Rig? I watched tackleJunkey81 on YouTube and he highly recommends the Sukoshi Bug by Catch Co. but what are some other options?- AN AFFORDABLE GLIDE BAIT
Well, must be nice to have deep pockets...lol. I actually have 1 of the 3D Shine Glides myself but if this Lucky Craft does almost as good the penny pincher in me is going to say "I can get 2 of the LC for the price of 1 Shine Glide" .- Favorite buzzbait
Because all of the colors/sizes I want are sold out...lol.- AN AFFORDABLE GLIDE BAIT
Oh we have some biggun's don't you worry...the trick is finding them .- AN AFFORDABLE GLIDE BAIT
Hope this thing works, just ordered the exact same thing for the same price .- AN AFFORDABLE GLIDE BAIT
Those 3D Shine Glides are $20 - $25 a pop, these are $9.95 on eBay...be worth it to order a couple and check em' out ;).- Favorite buzzbait
How about this??? https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Strike_King_Swinging_Sugar_Buzz/descpage-SKSSB.html- Favorite White Bird
To the OP there are A LOT of Googan Squad haters (I personally don't have anything against them or for them) on this forum so whenever you bring up a product of theirs or that sponsor them be prepared for a tidal wave of negativity. If you have the money, buy one and try it out...you may like it and in the end that's all that matters. Myself, I prefer Dobyn's, Shimano and Daiwa. I like the fact that those companies own their own factories and/or have major say in how their products are made but in the end if you like the Favorite brand rods and they work for you it's all good! - The latest sale thread
